A bit far from subway station ”

We arrived about 7pm and wheater soooo cold! And took about 1 hour to find the guest house with cold wheater . -20 ! So damn cold. Im with baby 1 year almost get fainted due to the weather. However, the staff can speak Malay. Easy to communicate. The room quite good for we 6 adults and 1 baby. Warm. Outside damn cold. Can cook, they have dapur and refrigerator. Heater also. Otherwise, please dont travel if you have kid on winter. Just one Halal Restaurant, turki restaurant i think, quiet expensive. Nasi goreng for RM60 ahahhaha. Its okay. I cook at guesthouse. Service is ok. Just quiet far from subway about 600-800m.

    Perfect Stay”

    Bong, homey, cosy

We stayed at Bong House for 6 nights. From Gimpo airport, we took the AREX line to Seoul station and then switched to the subway. From Hyehwa Station Exit No. 4, when you come up of the exit, you will see Baskin Robbins right in front of you. Do not cross the road, just come up of the exit and turn left straightaway on that very road, which is paved with shops on both sides of the road. just remember that CGV cinemas should be on your left along that road (its a very tall building, when u exit the station just look up towards your left and you should see CGV further up). Walk along that road right to the end, and on your right across the road you will see Dunkin Donuts. Cross that big road facing Dunkin Donuts and walk on the right alongside of Dunkin Donuts. Continue walking straight till you see Ediya Coffee (never seen the signboard lit up while we were there). Turn left at Ediya and walk to the left lane and you will see the Bong House & Bong Bar signage. Fyi, Family Mart has now changed to CU Mart. Our rooms were not in the main house, but in a different building just slightly across the street. We were on the 4th floor twin room, which had a lovely outdoor terrace with wall murals, that felt homey and we could see views of the distant mountains as well as the lovely SungKyunKwan University. Bong was a really jovial and hospitable guy, and brought us for dinner at a nearby duck BBQ restaurant, our first and only duck meal in our 12day korean trip! prices were very reasonable and the food excellent! FYI we booked a taxi to the airport on our departure (only jumbo taxis available), and it costs a flat rate of 80,000W, but there was huge space for lots of luggages, perfect for 4 persons with lots of shopping

    Perfect Stay!”

    Bong, Hospitality, Comfort

Our room had a heating system/heated floor, an aircon, hairdryer, microwave, mini fridge and water kettle. There was cable tv with a couple of english channels, and a bean bag for comfort. plenty of space around for huge suitcases and shopping! what made us really happen was the abundance of sockets in the room for us to charge our electronic devices the room came with a queen sized bed and a single bed, which were comfortable, with firm pillows and warm blankets. the toilet can be quite cold though, but we managed fine. Hot water and shower pressure was perfect. We also enjoyed hanging out at Bong Bar, which was the only bar in the many others we visited on this trip, which had a large pool table and dart machine. Bong Bar's decor is inviting and cosy enough to chill, where you could mingle and get to know other visitors from other parts of the world. the staff there was also friendly uni students who could converse pretty well in english. we took alot of cabs there, and if you want to go back to the hotel just memorise Sungkyunkwan University, most taxi drivers know Sungkyunkwan so it wasnt a problem for us. We had a lovely stay at Bong House and would not hesitate to come back again in the future when we visit Seoul. Highly recommended. We had rooms 301 & 401, which were perfect. You can buy your korean food products and titbits at Lotte Mart & Core mart just along that stretch!

Fun Hotel in a scholar neighborhood”

Nearby eateries and shopping areas, fun place to stay, value for money

this hotel is located besides sung kyun kwan university. within 1 kilometer radius are seoul national university hospital and numerous other academic institution. as in such places, fastfood joints and coffee shops abound in the area catering to the mostly young people and students populating the area. extensive commercial boutiques also caters to this community. bong house is like a dormitory with shared toilet and bathroom, shared kitchen with basic amenities, and lobby with computer and free wifi. water dispenser, microwave oven, washing machine and utensils are available. it also has a bar where residents can unwind or have fun. bong, the owner can speak good english and is very helpful with almost anything we need including shopping tips and sightseeing. the rooms has enough space for moving around and for our luggage. guest are required to leave their footwear outside the lobby but the floors are extremely clean. all in all, bong house is value for money.

good neighborhood, nearby cafes and boutiques, excellent service

this hotel may be hard to locate initially since it is not on a main street. but with the road navigators equip on every taxi, finding a place is a breeze as long a you got correct address. actually it was bong himself who found us first. the rooms were spacious and super clean. bong was very helpful and accomodating. bong even has his own bar inside the hotel. he offered us free welcome beers. just on the corner is a family mart 24 hours convenience store. there are also hotdog joints, coffee shops and plenty of eateries. nearby are also blocks of commercial boutiques, cafes, restaurants that opens till late in the evening. the nearest subway station is hyewa station which is about ten minutes walk from bong's house. several ancient palaces are also within walking distance of the hotel. overall, bong house is definitely a great deal.

Cozy Hotel with a Cool Owner”

Spacious room, quiet neighborhood, nearby commercial areas and Bong!

Initially, we had a hard time looking for the hotel because the maps were not very accurate and the street names were difficult to read and some were in Koreans. But after asking a couple of locals who speak very little English, we were able to pinpoint the location by showing them the hotel voucher. But before we reach Bong House, a Korean approached us and asked us if we were looking for Bong House. It was Bong himself who was also looking for us. Bong gave us a separate 2 bedroom apartment with its own living room, kitchen and gate. It was almost like a house. The place was clean and well lighted. It was equip with a microwave oven, electric kettle, desktop computer and extra beddings. The room and toilet were spacious. It was definitely value for money. The train station was a bit far. But the walk to it was worth it because it passes through a street full of commercial boutique, cozy restaurants and cafes. The owner, Bong was a cool guy. He was very friendly and helpful and can speak English. I would definitely stay there again given the opportunity.

The hostel is old and dirty. It was very hard to sleep at night because the bunk bed shaked with every single tiny movement. The rooms are old and in bad shape. I asked to change rooms and the o e i got had no windows and a terrible smell. Even the towels were stained. I will definitely not come back and not recommend this place to anyone I care for.

    Changed room 3 times”

Would have been an easy check in but our reservations got mixed up so we paid extra to get a room with a private bathroom. After getting a room and unpacking all our things, the staff who attended to us told us that we need to change room the next day which is a big hassle. Ended up moving into 3 different rooms in 3 different locations before finally settling in that day. There was no elevator so imagine moving up and down several flights of stairs with heavy luggage in tow. Plus the room obviously wasn't cleaned yet since we found an opened canned tuna with a fork stuck in it and cola inside the refrigerator. We waited for hours to talk to Mr. Bong because of the inefficient staff who processed our check in. Super disappointing!

    Awesome place with awesome people!”

Awesome friendly staff (Brunna, Kandra esp!), awesome roommates, heater to fight the cold (you'll need it in negative temperatures I promise), so comfy that you won't feel like getting out of both shower and the room, quick to fix whatever problems you have, vintage couch for mealtimes 😂 such as toasted bread with ketchup lookalike strawberry jam for breakfast. There's also Jenga blocks under table to play with your roommates. Definitely value for $! Location wise, pretty near to Hyehwa exit 4, which has everything you need. Walkable distance to Naksan park, as well as touristy sites, AKA you get both scenery and shopping! The only bad thing is that I have to go back home. 😭 I WILL BE BACK! ❤️

The place is located close to Hyewa station, however, may be difficult to locate at night time. The staff is good, the breakfast is good and so is the toilet. However, the room I booked was a single room and it was very small. Anyways, Value for money. Recommended for young travellers for a short stay. Closely located are many tourist attractions.

It was a pleasant stay. Price is ok compared to its location and facilities (it's Seoul anyway). The only thing you've to concern is the limitation of bathroom, as sometimes you've to queue or wait as they only have 2 bathrooms. The staffs are really kind + helpful.
