simplistic and wonder”
Paul, our host, made us welcome during the down season. Our son was injured on coral while swimming and he helped us get to the clinic on the island. Thank you for your kindness and caring.

Unfortunately, highly disappointing in (too) many ways”
In general a nicely located place but with some major issues: Our beachfront bungalow is 50-60m walking from the beach, you hardly can sea the beach/sea because of the trees - so it should even not be called sea view. Directly between our “beachfront” bungalow and the beach there is an area used for storing old things like a broken longtail boat, old tractor, used car tires, huge bags with plastic bottles, furniture and other rubish. The bungalows don't have glass windows or any other protection against monkeys. You need to close the wooden window frames during night (and day) because of the monkeys and you end up in a hot, dark and unfriendly wooden “box” with no air circulation. The darkbrown bedsheets added to this gloomy atmosphere. It seeems that when these huts were built, the monkeys were not considered. Monkeys are visiting your open bathroom and drinking from the toilet or maybe even taking a shower - foodprints and monkey dirt all over. You can't leave your stuff in the bathroom because monkeys will steal it. The water was very often brownish. At the bar/restaurant the TV is on all the time - no music, no atmosphere. The sand at the beach is not very fine, more on the rough side. The sea is not accessible at low tide which starts (during our stay) at 3-4pm. At lowtide pickups and motorbikes are driving on the beach - motorbikes also at high tide very close to your towel. From midday there is no more shade at the beach. WIFI is available only at the restaurant and only until arround 8pm. Breakfast is available only from 9am on. One day we asked for breakfast at 9:15 am at we have been simply redirected (!) to the neighboring resort (luboa hut, which is by the way great with great food and friendly atmosphere). It is very difficult to communicate with the personnel as they don't speak english. Motorbike quite expensive with 300 bath a day, ice cream box empty, etc etc etc etc In general a very disappointing stay in (too) many ways. The only positive thin

Lovely stay all around”
We had a great 3 nights in a Beach Front bungalow at Bonhomie. The staff was very helpful throughout, and the mosquito net was maybe the best I've ever slept under. Highly recommend the Penang Curry here. The tides, at least while we were there, are very noticeable so make sure to look them up and know when high tide is so you can enjoy your free kayaking and swimming around at that time.

Beautiful & quiet place on Koh Jum”
This place is so beautiful and perfect to relax. The owner is a wonderful and a very interesting person with great stories! The staff is extremely helpful. The bungalows are a bit tucked away in the jungle and are very spacious and clean. They have the best mosquito nets we have had on our whole thailand trip. The restaurant is also very good (though, I would have liked the choice of tofu as in the restaurant next door). The garden and beach are georgous. The only thing we were missing is shadow during the afternoon (you have shadow in the garden but not really at the beach). You should keep in mind that this is not a 5 star resort, but for it's price range it is extremely good! We would definitely come back!

Overall satisfied”
The place is nice, there are many restaurants along the beach wich was important for us. The beach is not that childfrendly during low tide but perfect during high tide. In low tide you can take the canoe further from the beach and swim there. The nearest peer is 10km far so you will need a tuk tuk if you take the ferry to the peer, otherwise will the ferry stop in the middle of the sea and drop you and your luggage to a longtail boat that will take you to the beach where your resort is. The island is 25km long, so we rented a tuktuk and explored the area. In Bonhomie they bake their own bread so its definitely a plus for them. The owner is very nice and frendly, he is also the only one who speaks good english. It was hard to communicate with the staff (also helpfulnice)without him being there. Be aware if you book with agoda it says that they have free bottled water but they dont! When we payed the bill they told us it applies to small bottles which we never got during our stay there.

Very pleasant stay, super friendly staff”
We enjoyed our stay in Bonhomie cottage over Christmas. The owner and the staff is so nice and friendly, very warm and relaxed atmosphere. Food was also great, especially the fresh fish we had for dinner on Christmas Eve. The bungalow is very simply furnished but there was everything you need on such an island.

Relaxing beach”
We came for 3 nights and we stayed 6. For us this beach is the best of the island. Great atmosphere! Bonhomie bungalows are super cute and you can enjoy leaving in the jungle. The owner Paul is super nice. Important: if you are looking for party, this is not your beach. We will come back!

A very peaceful atmosphere in a beautiful simple natural place, helped by wonderful staff”
The location is truly beautiful and the beach was clean and quiet. I think it's important to understand that this place is about deconnecting and relaxing. The bungalows are simple and stick to basics but it is something you look for before booking. So it's not a hot shower + aircon. Forget about TV and wifi & data networks are not the best. The owner, Paul, was genuinely friendly and would always be up for a little chat or for support if you need anything. His staff was also very attentive, smiling and always available to us. Although the breakfast offer is a bit limited, the rest of the cooking is actually very good. We tried a wide selection of the menu, western & thai and were always happy. You may read that food is better next door, we think it's not really the case, they're both very good. In the improvements, there could be a refresh of the beach loungers and a few more of them. You will find an atmosphere there.

Disappointing ”
The owner, Paul, is great; very helpful. Unfortunately we were disadisappointed by the accommodation. Our beach bungalow was more in the forest than on the beach. It was very badly lit and we just didn't feel clean during our 3 night stay. The shower was hot but the bedding didn't feel clean and the room wasn't serviced at all .... not great, especially when the waste bin had no lid. No bottled water which we had come to expect, even at much cheaper bookings. Your can eat here but after one evening meal and breakfast we ate elsewhere.

expect nature, hospitality, don't luxury ”
hospitality, food, environment
Owner is very nice guy, good local-food chief, friendly staff. Some equipments are not in good shape; like we happened to borrow 2 broken snuggles. Location of the resort is quite remote (take 20 min by bike to port), the short-cut road is still too dangerous for bike or car. Nice home-stay. They can help arrange transportation if you ask them.

Even better than we had hoped”
location, food, tranquility
We had read reviews that Bonhomie was 'heaven' and 'paradise' and hoped this was so. It turned out to be even better than we hoped. The staff were wonderful; they really could not do enough for you, the food fantastic and our 'beach cottage' was wonderful, with a huge bed, and wooden interiors. Don't expect air conditioning and all the luxuries that are associated with other resorts, this is in line with nature; you get a fan and a mosquito net and there are shutters you can open, and of course you get the sea breeze. You lie in bed at night and can hear the sounds of birds and the monkeys in the trees, which to us was idyllic. I don't think this is a resort for ravers, but if you want beautiful, secluded tranquility this is the place for you. There are other resorts along this stretch of beach where you could eat,but frankly we cant comment as we felt the food was so good at Bonhomie we didn't eat anywhere else. There are rocks on the beach, and at low tide it can be difficult to swim but at high tide you can swim fine. The beaches were not busy and the only niggle I have with this resort was the lack of sun loungers etc, when there were a few people in the resort the early birds nabbed the seats (or the hammocks) for the day and you were left to lie on the beach, which can be scorching. Of course you could wander down the beach and sit on another resorts chairs, but the addition of a few more hammocks and beach loungers would make this resort perfect in my opinion. I want to thank Paul and all his staff for making our holiday so memorable and we would definitely consider returning to Bonhomie in the future.
