As long you (stay) sleep hotel”

The receptionist counter is creepy, but the staff is over friendly and it's okay for me. Come to the room, it's look horrible. The bed is smelly like it's been years no one come in that place, the tv is old school. The toilet hmmm ok for me, shower got hot n cold. The blanket is smelly too! The hallway to out room looks like haunted movie set. Tear abd broken everywhere. But overall i can say, the stay just... hmmm..

Dated hotel. Stay as a last resort (like I did)”

All the hotels in the vicinity of Padang Merdeka (where I was headed for the start of the Kuching Marathon) were fully booked, so this was my only option. I didn't mind that the furniture in the rooms were old and dated (I was definitely getting an 80's vibe) as the rooms and bathroom were clean. What I did mind was in the 24 hours I was there, my room blacked out for around 5-6 times! When there is a black out, the airconditioning unit would shut off automatically and I will need to call the front desk to turn it back on - not because it was centralized airconditioning, but because they do not have a remote controller for the air cond for each room. ONE sole remote control is shared for all the rooms. Can you imagine how annoying it is, when the electricity kept getting disrupted and you need to call the front desk to come up and turn on the air conditioner for you? And barely an hour later, calling the front desk AGAIN because there was another black out again? When it blacked out in the middle of the night, I decided to give it a as a lost cause (had to be up by around 4:30 am as my run starts at 6 am) and just slept in the stuffy room sans aircond or fan. I did opened the window a wee bit for ventilation but the traffic is loud so you can imagine the quality of sleep I got. Also in this day and age where everyone carries some sort of smart devices (phones, tablets, digital cameras, powerbanks etc) just having one free electrical socket (the other two being used to plug in the TV and the non-functioning mini fridge) to charge your gadgets isn't going to cut it. The only upside I can think of for this hotel is the location, (next door to a supermarket and within walking distances to restaurants) and the friendly staff. Come on, Borneo Hotel, you can do better!

    Convenient location, clean and comfortable

It was value for money although the room is a little smaller but compensated with larger at hand expected bathroom. Need to improve the quality of toiletries.
