          First impression quite bad”

First of all, when i was booking the room, Agoda didnt mention that the resort will charge per pax instead of per room as advertise in Agoda apps.. so i need to top up for kids and my spouse which is quite expensive, adults for rm134 and 2 children for rm194. Arrived at resort we are welcome by two very kind of receptionist but their supervisor is kinda grumpy.. they need to be more attentive to customer... because i did question a lot about the payment and room.. i pay rm539 for standard room.. in agoda apps rm509 will be a Quad room. The resort is very deep inside the jungle and the offroad is quite steep, glad that i use 4x4.. the welcoming of resort is very attractive with its mother nature sound, bugs and fresh air. Then we proceed to have afternoon tea.. the food is very2 sufficent.. perhaps they could do the meals more attractive and adds more quantity.. after we cx in the room we proceed to waterpark.. walking distance from engkabang room is very superbview then arrived.. it was magnificent view of hidden waterpark.. then it change my perception of this resort.. after that we had a served dinner... the food is very good and a lot.. then all the negative first impression change.. it was awesome... sleeping in a very comfy bed we wake up and had a superb served breakfast.. at that time.. my thought is that.. it is very valueable for money because we had a very good time eventhou we didnt have too much of activities due to small and baby children.. after cx out.. we had a very delicious lunch... with no internet line except at lobby.. we feel very stress release at the tropical rainforest.. it was very suitable to whom want to have a good relaxing and stress releived.... perhaps the first impression of our arrival the and the booking problems i ecounter.. should i say the place is such paradise for busy people.. awesome and Great place with superb foods.

A nice place for one night”

Friendly staff, close to Lambir National Park, good buffet evening meal

We stayed at Borneo Tropical Rainforest Resort for one night. The room was a decent size and perched on a precarious wooden structure in a rather green and murky lake. It had more facilitates than we were really anticipating, the best being the AC and the fridge. The resort's main attraction is the water park which seems to attract bus loads of noisy swimmers whose enjoyment of this attractions does seem to travel some distance. Any building work on the new block paled into insignificance by comparison to the noise from the pool. There are all sorts of activities on offer should one wish to be adventurous, although most looked pretty dangerous and not in that great condition. There is a pleasant walk to a small waterfall, and some interesting trails in the jungle, which are well signed. The evening buffet was better than other places we have stayed in Borneo, although breakfast perhaps not so great! All in all, it was a pleasant escape for Miri, and right on the doorstep of Lambir,so ideal for a morning trek.

          Nice Natural place for holiday

Borneo Tropical rainforest is the only hotel located in the forest. We had a pleasant stayed as this hotel provided everything ie buffet breakfast, hi-tea & buffet dinner and tour around the area nearby the resort and few activities are free of charge. Even charge activities / games is only RM10. The chalet is pretty nice is just a little hot in the Morning till afternoon even with aircond. No wifi in the room except lobby and the phone line reception is bad in this resort. Nice waterpark as it has build in the forest.

the location , waterpark ,the tour of the resort

we always wanted to have a stay in a tropical rainforest surroundings but not too out of the way. it was only a 50km drive from Miri and when we arrive at our chalet we were already in a tropical jungle setting. The activities were abundant and in nearby location and the tour was a good eye opener of a resort which is partially self sustaining from water, food and other supplies

          Great family gateways ”

It’s definitely not a five star hotel experience, the facility needs a serious update. However we want to be close to the nature yet being in a controlled enviroment for our two years old son. And Borneo Rainforest has everything we looked for. Quiet resorts sites right in the rain forest, there are hiking trails as well as wood track for an easy stroll with pram. We love the two small waterfalls on the resort ground, our son played in the nature sand dune for a long time while we sitting in the shade and relax. And all the staff we spoke to are polite and attentive, the food is more than enough. And it’s super easy to get to from Singapore! 1hr 40 mins flight by AirAsia followed by 30 mins car ride, hotel can arrange pick up and drop off service. Hassle free. If you are a family with small children and want get away from your busy city life, look no further! (Do bring long sleeves and lots of mosquito repellent)

You get to stay right in the forest with 5star service

First off its just about the most ulu place you can possibly live in yet get 5 star service all the way. I am most pleased to see that the staff here understand the meaning of hospitality. After coming from another resort in Sabah where it's absolutely expensive, well, it was a very very nice change. Second, you are going to learn to put up with the super aggressive and huge mosquitoes which will relentlessly swarm all over you at least for the first two days and nights. And by the third day, oddly, they seem to have lost interest in me. A couple of stings and that was all. Third, you need to bring your own supplies of snacks, food whatever if you are not driving cos you can't just get out to get something from the 7-11 down the street. And so if you come straight from the airport like I did without being able to stock up first, then you have no choice but to go full board with them. That means you pay extra on top of thebooking. But it isn't that bad a deal. In fact, the food is great and plentiful. With four meals a day, you will put on weight if you don't watch it.

Clean and comfortable room. But the blankets a little bit smelly. Might be due to humid environment. A little bit disappointed with the buffet as the food finish early and need request for top-up. Recommended to choose ala carte food. The rainforest environment is great for those who want to escape from the busy city environment. Last but not least, the phone signal quite weak unless if you don't mind to be "offline" for a while. 😁

The pools were great for kids and adults. Being in the heart of the rainforest was intoxicating. There were many activities available for adults and children, all at a leisurely pace.

This resort was lovely. It's getting a bit old, but lots to do for both children and adults. Being in the heart of the rainforest was incredibly relaxing. Beautiful walks, sounds of nature, easygoing but efficient staff, good food - highly recommended for a couple of nights!

We enjoyed our stay immensely. Simple resort rooms with just the bare necessities, but the awesome staffs, nice water park, plenty of things to do was enough to keep up occupied. Suggest to take the complete meal package as there are no restaurant nearby except for the resort owned ones. Food was a plenty and good. Ask for the mahogany rooms.

If you're a big eater, the food at resort was a lot!”

The resort is located about 5 minutes drive from Lambir Hill National Park. So, it is recommended for those who are planning to visit Lambir Hill National Park. To our amaze, we were the only two guests checked in on 8th Feb. So, it was a little bit creepy when the resort left with only one light at the receptionist desk (though understandable it it to save the energy). However, the staff offered to send the dinner to our rooms. I must say the dinner and breakfast were a lot (to small eaters like us). I couldn't imagine if we didn't take dine in at the resort, as there were prob limited eateries nearby. For activities at the resort wise, there were quite a number of varieties such as flying fox, swimming pools, rock climbing, multi-purpose hall etc. However, it is advisable to go there by group than couple or two buddies. Unless you enjoy quiet times there. Please bring along repellent and apply it extensively. Otherwise, you may end up having a lot of mosquito bites.

          True hideaway from city”

I need to compliment the resort’s staff. All of them are very friendly and helpful. I’d been here for few times, and if there’s one thing that I need to comment, it will be the well being of the resort’s facilities. It’s really abit of rundown and I hope the management can put more affords to have them upgrade or replace. For example, the Meranti chalet that I’m staying, the bathroom’s basin is almost damage. And the water park is obviously lack of maintenance as the slides looks very “unsafe”. Overall, I do love this place and it will be sad to see the condition getting degrading each time I visit. This is a sanctuary for those that really want to getaway from city life perhaps a day or two :) But, I have to remind all Agodaian, that there will be only one area (the corner next to lobby’s elevator) in this whole resort that gt wifi service. Yes. There will be no line reception at all. That is why, this is a true getaway from city !

          Lovely location”

          Lovely location, surrounding, staff

While location was great, rooms could have been better - not as advertised. Also, got really busy and noisy with lots of school kids etc - could not enjoy walks, see birds etc. expected to have rainforest experience - see some local wildlife etc - only monkey was caged!!

An interesting experience to say the least”

The first night, we were the only guests in the hotel. The staff was very accommodating. We asked to changed rooms because our original room smelled damp, fridge didn't work, and the AC was noisy. They allowed us to look at many different rooms and choose the one we wanted. All 3 meals provided each day were great and plentiful. You never felt hungry. Having an entire resort to yourself was an experience in itself. Facilities were old and looked run down, but the pool served its purpose and the waterpark was up and running for the families who showed up the following day. Did some nice hikes around the property. The bed wasn't great (uncomfortable and a little short). We brought our own pillow, because we read previous reviews. This was a good choice. Overall, it was very relaxing and we're glad we tried the place out. Probably wouldn't go back again, but I think it's a place that everyone should go to once. If you have middle aged children, I think it would be a great place for them!
