Generally very good hotel in great location
On the whole this was a very good hotel and good value for money. A few things were a bit odd - like the elongated room with a shower in the middle of it. My room was also directly on to the street with quite noisy trams. Gym facilities and sauna were excellent. Breakfast at 17.5 Euros was ridiculous. Round the corner you can get something for sub-10 Euros.

Wouldn't hesitate to go back.
Traditionally we stay in old world hotels, so was a little hesitant to book the modern Hotel i31 in an old world city, but the reviews swayed us. So glad we did book, it's a wonderful hotel! Modern, comfortable and charming Hotel i31 places an emphasis on the cozy, and whilst modern and cozy, in hotels at least, don't often go together Hotel i31 manages it perfectly, I'd also add that it it's a quality hotel too, with friendly staff, great bar with excellent bar food and the rooms really are cozy meets cool. Whilst the breakfast is the usual delicious but pricy affair (as are all hotels), around 20 euros, there is a cheaper 5 euro option that offers tea, coffee and croissants which is nice to have as a less expensive option but with all the convenience of eating in the hotel. The free (non alcoholic) mini bar is a nice touch and was heavily used, I'm sure it saved us a small fortune! Location wise there's a U-Bahn 2 minutes walk around the corner that gets you everywhere. Also you have restaurants close by down Friedrichstraße and then lots all along Torstraße which is just off Friedrichstraße. There's a Balzac Coffee shop right by the U-Bahn which is great to get your day going, and if you don't want to pay the 30 euros to get to Tegel airport or from it, then you can easily take the U-Bahn, then a short bus ride to the airport door for a lot less. To plan your public transport journeys I'd recommend the City Mapper app which was a revelation to us. To sum up then Hotel i31 leaves very little to be desired, it manages an unfussy, relaxing yet quality environment as a base to explore Berlin, much more than functional modern it creates it's own little atmosphere, helped along by a peaceful courtyard garden. We'd go back in a heart beat!

Clean and tidy but a little noisy
The hotel rooms are very well presented and clean. Although, we did not find it ideal for a quiet nights sleep as the Tram line runs the front door of the hotel and we had a room on the second floor at the front(trams appear to run until 1am and start up at about 5am). Staff helpfulness varied. My partner and I are unsure on the location for a short trip to Berlin, for us it lacked abit of character and it was a struggle to find mixes places to eat close by...

Adorable hotel conveniently located
My friends and I LOVED this hotel! It was our first stop on our 4 country tour and we still by the end of the trip raved about this hotel! It was close to many restaurants, the tram and train, walking distance to the center. The room although a little small (not used to the european style) ended up working out perfectly and the shower was absolutely amazing. We would definitely stay here again.

Unexpectedly fantastic for the price!
Chose one.step up from cheapest room, the "plus". Marble bathroom was gorgeous, kingside bed very comfortable, spacious room with desk area, two comfy chairs for tv watching, lots of umbrellas provided in lobby, staff was friendly, beautiful covered garden area for drinks off the lobby. Wifi was great. $5 cab fare from train station. $24 cab fare to airport. Highly recommend this hotel! Negatives: checkin took too long because only one staff person available and you had to wait while each person ahead of you wrote out their info on registration form. Their computer system already had most of this info and should have printed it out!

As advertised and more
Hotel was very well planned with ample parking. So close to the U-Bahn that travel throughout Berlin was fast and easy. A friendly and extremely attentive staff -- simply a great place to stay.

A quiet haven in a busy city. A super relaxed cool boutique hotel with peaceful outside green area. So completely opposite to the larger sterile environment of the big branded chains but with all the first class amenities. Loved the breakfast overlooking the garden and enjoyed the sauna. Staff were helpful, warm and welcoming. Would definitely stay again .
