I booked in a one bedroom for my parents while we are moving to the new house. The room is not big, but has a decent size courtyard . The location is great, close to the park with running track, play ground, basketball court. table tennis and skating park. cross road is Box Hill Shopping centre with lots of restaurants and takeaways. Tram, train station just minutes walk. As this is a newly opened apartments, so my parents didn't know how to use the aircon, cooktop etc. The staffs are all friendly and helpful. My parents really enjoyed the stay at City Edge Box Hill. Cathy

Stay here for Nunawading Basketball, They give Powerade for the players. Friendly & helpful staffs. Great location for us, few steps to box hill shopping plaza. Some Shop are open until 11pm. If you like asian food/snack, here’s perfect place to stay. Coins laundry also available: 1 washer & 1 dryer only. Clean your room & rubbish everyday, no change bath towels. Pay for daily car parking & Limited car space :(

On booking in we were in an upstairs room and on request for no stairs this was imediately changed without hesitation or complaint as we had booked online and this option was not offered as a selection (no stairs), we were lucky that there was a vacancy or others hadn't arrived and we were able to be accomodated without stairs. I booked this hotel not really knowing where Box Hill was and we found it a little far from the two rail stations of 900m and 1200m as we are pensioners. We did however walk from Laburnam Station and back again to go to the MCG, we thought getting off at Box Hill may be easier to get a taxi, but none would come past, luckily a couple buying a piza offered us a ride for the last 400m To gat back to Box Hill station we were accomodated from the desk ordering us a taxi on our departure. Great stay, comfortable and reasonably priced, without a car it's a little out of the way.

The motel was comfortable, clean and everything worked. The manager was helpful and friendly. The building and fittings are badly in need of updating though. It is about a 2 minutes walk to the nearest tram stop (although this takes a while to get to Melbourne) and 10 minutes walk to Box Hill and the train, which is a quicker trip to Melbourne. The motel is on a busy main road so pack your ear plugs. Box Hill has many eateries, especially of the budget and ethinic variety, so this is very convenient.

I appreciate the quiet and calm surroundings, even though its on a main road (easy access to bus and tram). Staff were freiendly, genuine, and helpful. We wanted to visit Box Hill Supermarket so, bus there and train back, too easy. The best thing was the balcony overlooked quaint tree lined streets and alleys of a lovely district with beautiful gardens. If you appreciate peace this is a winner. I'll be back.

I didn't have a bad time here and would do it again, but it is not for everyone. Imagine a large college house with lots of rooms and shared dining room, industrial kitchen (you get your own space on shelves and the cold room), and bathrooms. Yes, you can hear your neighbors and their tv, and they may be rude and slam doors at times. No, the wifi will probably not work in your room. Yes, there is a ~10 minute walk to the train station and it involves a small hill both ways. Yes, it takes a half-hour on the train to get into Melbourne via Flinders St / Southern Cross. Yes, you can do your laundry via pay machines. Perhaps buy a cheap shower caddy and shower shoes from the local "dollar store" at the mall. Comfy bed. Air conditioning works well. Great value and the room was quite clean! The shared living spaces... not always so much. Bring your own towel!
