Holiday in Chiang Mai”
We arrived at the BP Chiang Mai City Hotel after travelling overnight on the train from Ayuthai and received a very warm welcome from the reception staff and had access to our rooms immediately. We were very pleased to find that the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. We were able to leave our main luggage at the hotel while we went on a three-day trek. It was also very useful to have the free use of a safety deposit box for this period. Although the decoration in the rooms was a little tired we would have no problem in recommending this hotel to any of our friends who intend visiting Chiang Mai.

A very enjoyable stay!”
We were pleasantly surprised with our stay here. The hotel is located in the Old City and close to a number of very interesting temples. As others pointed out, the bathrooms could use an upgrade but the hotel is clean, the beds comfortable, a large flat screen television with many English speaking channels. The Wi-Fi worked excellent in our room and everywhere in hotel. And did I mention they have a great little pool for cooling off after a hot day hiking around town? The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The front desk helped us book a trip to Chiang Rai and everything worked out great. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. You will be hard pressed to find a better value for the money. I'd also recommend booking your hotel with the included breakfast. The breakfast has a good selection of both western and Asian items and you could even get omelets or eggs cooked to order. Coffee, tea, juice, toast and a good selection of fresh fruits were also available. Next trip to Chiang Mai I won't need to research a place to stay, I'll be staying here.

Comfort & Convenience in Chiang Mai City Center”
Great hotel with A TERRIFIC BREAKFAST BUFFET every morning, from 6 am to 10 am - with lots of great food, coffee, and service. The hotel is big but very interesing, and has a small pool and gym to enjoy - but the location is great: close to airport (100-150 bhat taxi or tuktuk), lots of tours come here, many international travelors all over to talk to, great places to enjoy and relax in common areas, internet slow but everywhere, night bus to night market every day at 7 pm. Just great services and place to start exploring Chiang Mai and temples, tours, and area. The staff is limited in English but did a great job in helping us with everything. We had a problem with some young Chinese tourists who stole stuff from us at the pool when we went to lunch, but the Thai people and staff were so gracious, honest, helpful and lovely. We will be back - it's a great value.

Average Hotel with Good Service”
I had a good time staying with BP Chiang Mai City Hotel. However, the water system in bath room seems to be the main issue during our stay since the toilet floor was wet every time we had a shower. Staffs are very attentive. Limited choice of buffet breakfast but still reasonable for what we paid.

Nothing fancy, clean and comfortable”
I got really nervous, having read some negative reviews of this hotel, but I think some of them were unwarranted. The hotel is not brand new, which you can tell by the bathroom fixtures and the hallway carpet. That stuff doesn't matter to me though: the bed linens were clean, and the shower was hot. We loved dipping in the pool after a hot and sweaty day of exploring the old city. The staff had lots of resources for us to book tours, etc., but we had trouble communicating to staff when/what we wanted--it all got done, we just had to work a little harder because the only Thai words we know are hello and thank you. We didn't eat at the hotel, but across the street is an amazing cafe, called Coffee Lovers. They serve Vietnamese coffee (delicious!) The hotel is in the Old City, which makes everything easy to get to: restaurants, the Walking Street market (must see!). It was great. We felt safe the whole time we were there.

hotel with good price”
I was coming back to BP from Sat market and I hesitated for a few seconds that the van took me to a wrong place. The hall was all lighted and it became such a social place that I didn't recognize it until the familiar path to the door showed up. I like the swimming pool,(always love water)and not too quite nor crowded. There were only 4 people,a couple playing a kind of game and sometimes got into the pool,an aged man sitting in the back reading, and me.It was a nice morning stay in the pool! The door boy was nice, and the girl helped us to find a spa place, which was nice,as well! The room was quite old but rather clean. It worthed the price we paid.

3 nights at Chiang Mai ”
I put up my stay at BP ChiangMai city hotel from 14-17th December 08. Perhaps due to the recent Suvarnabhumi Airport closure incident, there were not many tourists around. There are a number of Tour/Travel agent along the Sunday Market street near the hotel. As our stay at ChiangMai was quite long (4D3N), upon arrival we signed up with a tour agent opposite Wat PhraSing for one full day trip to ChiangRai + Golden Triangle + Mae Sai + Hill Tribes + Hot Spring. Sunday market is something not to be missed as it is just a walking distance from the Hotel. As for the night bazaar, the hotel provided free shuttle service at every 8pm. I would highly recommend this hotel to all budget traveler/ even middle class travellers, or anyone who shares the same concept with me, i.e. I just need a decent and safe place to sleep for the night throughout my traveling period.

Great For Families, Not So Much For Single's.”
This humongous hotel would benefit more from a big turnover you'd expect in a busy city. As a result, it's massive dining room and banquet halls you find on every floor are derelict and in need of repair. Fantastic building however. The rooms are spacious and clean. Food portions are big and cheap too which makes BP Hotel appealable to big families with children. Which is annoying if you want to get an early night and there are children running up and down the corridors screaming. I tried to complain to reception but they thought I was ordering ice-cream. The location is excellent and there are a number of tuk-tuk's always outside waiting to take you anywhere. Barter with them though! They always ask for way too expensive fares, expecting you to knock them down lower. And if you need a real coffee in the morning just like me, Coffee Lovers Cafe is directly opposite the hotel and they serve an excellent cappuccino and talk very good English.

Business Stay At BP Chiang Mai City Hotel”
Overall, our stay at the BP Chiang Mai City Hotel was acceptable. It's location was extremely convenient and made travel easy. My only complaint would be that I found the beds and pillows uncomfortable.

Great location but no wi-fi in rooms”
I stayed in this hotel for the first few days after my arrival to Chiang Mai, while I was looking for a more permanent place. Since I'm an internet person, I was a bit disappointed by lack of internet in rooms (and wifi in lobby leaves much to be desired). The hotel features a pool, but it's tiny, and I've never seen anyone there (maybe because it's winter now?). All in all, the hotel is good and I'd stay there again.

BP Chiang Mai Hotel Re-visited”
I had stayed at the BP on 3 past visits to Chiang Mai and never been disappointed. POriginally booked in because of low price but now go there because I feel at home, The only bad thinge that have happened to me there are I put my foot on the toilet seat ( while drying my foot after a shower) and cracked the lid. I was charged US$20 to replace it, ( A lesson learned), and the massage place next door(which is nothing to do with the hotel) ripped me off with cost

Excellent value for money.”
i think the bp hotel is the best value for money accommodation i've stayed in. it's a little bit out from the main town centre area but there was always a tuk-tuk waiting when i went to head out (generally 80-100thb fee). the hotel itself also ran a free shuttle service to the night market at 1900 hrs each evening. the buffet breakfast was very good and there was also a restaurant facility available for the evening but i didn't sample this. there is free wifi available in the lobby area which is very pleasant. unfortunately no wifi in the rooms. all in all i would highly recommend this hotel.

Good value for money ”
the bp city hotel was a good choice for our shopping trip to chiang mai. it was conveniently located, with friendly helpful staff. the rooms were clean but a little tired. the carpet was quite stained. the pool area was small and needed an update with more lounge chairs. the exercise room was an added bonus. the bathrooms were clean but the tiles could have used a scrubbing to remove the mould. the breakfast buffet was good. overall i was happy with the room for the money spent.

Cheap but you don't get what you don't pay for”
I am happy with my stay at BP Chiang Mai City Hotel, and would give it a "decent" review. Great location but it is tired and although the staff are friendly, their housekeeping could be improved. The bathrooms work but the tiling is yellowing (not dirty). I had to tighten the screws on the door lock. In all, it is cheap, in a great location and the beds are comfortable in good sized rooms. You don't get what you don't pay for so don't expect a five star hotel at three star prices. :)

Best pool in the heart of the old city”
Although agoda advertised that this hotel had wireless in the rooms (it was only available in the lobby) and that there was a pool bar (the pool bar was unstaffed but maybe this is because it was low season) we still ended up spending our entire week in chiang mai at this hotel. The rooms were decent, our only complaint is that the air con could have been colder, other than that they were standard rooms for Thailand. The first evening we arrived the pool seemed a little lame with not much seating and no evening sun but upon comparing it to several friend's hotels it was clean, refreshing and uncrowded. Also much needed after a day of activities during the hot season. Overall for the price we paid it was definitely worth it as long as you keep an open mind ( as you often have to do in Thailand).

Old style charm ”
This place has an old charm. It is not for everyone, as it is showing it age a bit. But for me, I like that it has an old history and style to it. Yes, as some review say, its heyday may have been 30 years ago, but honestly, I like that about it. The room is big and comfy and old style charm like you see in the photos. Why stay at some place that is just like that last place you stayed.? I will come back here again.
