Very old
The lobby looks fine. But the actual room is pretty old. All the equipments are like 90s. The paint on the wall has fallen, bath towels had stains, and the bed frame was sliding cuz of the wheels under. The hall way might be on renovation, so paint on the carpet and sometime they put plastic sheet on the carpet for protecting the carpet from the paint but it just looked awful. Cuz ppl are still living on this floor.

Bureaucratic run hotel and unfriendly personnel
Horrible place to be. It showed good but all of this is misleading. We felt as if we were in a communist-lead hotel in the 1980's. We tested 2 nights (first impressions could be misleading...) and finally changed to an other hotel. Even at the cost of 3 nights without refund.

Upgrade due to dirty bathroom
On my first day i went to take a bath but the siap holder n bath n toilet were mouldy n dirty...i asked housekeeping to come n clean so i could use them n they upgraded me to the 2nd floor boutique room..still no balcony but nicer room. Will stay again as its near Wat Phra Singh but prefer area east of Thapae gate..alot less touristy but this hotel was great for the price. Everyday i left my room i took photos of my baggs n one day i returned to find them disturbed...cant see anything missing but not nice to know the cleaning staff go thru ur bags..beware thats all!
