Find hotels near Imperial Citadel in Hue, Vietnam

Best. Experience. Ever. NOT staying here is a huge mistake. Hué itself is fine, but since you're really only there to see the citadel etc., make it a beautiful retreat and catch up on your reading in the lush garden. Our stay was what dreams are made of! Jean and Phuong were incredible. Phuong gave us a little walking tour of her village, and Jean was a charming and attentive (yet hands-off enough too) host. The room (read:house) is palatial and clean as can be. We were almost embarrassed by how big our place was, but we also felt amazing that our money was supporting the orphans next door. We met and ate dinner with them, then we all played together and sang songs. They are curious and happy and love meeting new adults. It was something I will remember all my life. Also breakfast was amazing and you MUST ask Jean for the dinner- $10 has never given us such a homey yet elegant experience- enough food for an army and delicious and special. Ask Mr Bean to pick some bananas for you, as you're far away from snacks. Or bring some munchies along. Also ask Phuog where to get the yummy fish soup down the lane- so good we each had two bowls in one sitting! I've said nothing negative because there isn't anything! Stop reading and just book!

Le Robinet Homestay was a great place for me the host Linh and her employee are so nice and helpful. Linh helped show me all the good places to go eat where the locals in town go and also helped me with places to visit while I was in Huế. Linh recommended me Huếs folk music which she will help provide information to the place. I enjoyed it alot so interesting to hear classic Viet folk music all the musicians and singers were dressed in there classic imperial outfits like as if they were to play for the king and queen in the old days, Thanks Linh that was a great experience. They cleaned my room when I needed it and made sure everything was okay during my stay. I rented a motorbike from Linh which is great so I can travel around town. Le Robinet Homestay has a classic French feel to it, I loved it. It's a 5min. walk from the old imperial capital to visit. This was a quiet place to stay and relaxing. Definitely would recommend this place to visit while in Huế.

This hotel is within walking distance to the Imperial Citadel. It is very quiet and relaxing compared to the hustle bustle and noise of Hue town across the Perfume River. The receptionist speaks very good English and is very helpful with any queries you may have. He or she can instruct the taxi driver in Vietnamese. Taxis are a good mode of travel and many would take you to main scenic attractions at a cheaper price than travel agencies. Breakfast is adequate. There are many local shops nearby that offer authentic Hue delicacies. There is even a fresh coconut drink store at the corner.

Stayed here for 2 nights in December 2017 - chose it for proximity to citadel and was glad I did as could get there in a few minutes' walk and visit it myself at my own pace. It's a little confusing to find at first as it's down a lane off the main road, but the locals are friendly and helpful and will direct you there if you're unsure. The family who run the guesthouse are lovely, and provide you with a dinner on your second night, allowing you to try a range of home cooked Vietnamese dishes. If you can speak French be sure to have a chat with the grandad who is lovely company and can tell you about the history of Vietnam. There are plenty of places in the nearby streets to eat and drink, and you can walk over the bridge to the modern city centre in about 10- 15 mins if you want a bigger range. Taxis to/from the train station are only about £2 (60,000VND), and the tour company I booked my transfer to Hoi An through collected me from the guesthouse in the morning.

This was a beautiful homestay with an amazing host and breakfast. She hired me a wonderful driver for the day to take me to the pagoda, 3 tombs, and the citadel. He then took me to a great local restaurant, where the family immediately took a shine to me and I ended up having dinner and drinks with them later that evening. As far as accomadation, the room was cool and quiet. There were no windows, which made it feel like a bit like a tomb, and I couldn't figure out how to get the hot water to work. That being said, the homestay is located next to the citadel, the garden is GORGEOUS, and the host is friendly. I would def stay again!
