For peace and relaxation right on Diggers Beach, you can’t beat the friendly staff and the beautiful location of the BreakFree Aanuka Beach Resort. Within walking distance of Coffs Harbor, you can find snorkeling and diving right off the beach and the landscaped gardens provide a tropical setting perfect for afternoon strolls and bird watching. The crowning glory of the resort is the large free-form, child friendly swimming pool, or you can let the kids enjoy the kids' club while you visit the spa. Accommodation ranges from standard rooms and studios to three bedroom villas, all beautifully furnished and fully equipped - most with a kitchen and lounge areas. Undoubtedly a great place of stay, BreakFree Aanuka Beach Resort is definitely worth your visit.

Bali-esque beach resort”
The Breakfree Aanuka is a lovely 'family friendly' resort at Diggers Beach just north of Coffs Harbour. The good thing about a family friendly resort is that as a couple, we didn't really have to deal with lots of screaming kids annoying us in the pool as the choice for most families was to take the rugrats to the specific kid's water play area set far away from the lagoon pool. The resort has been undergoing a renovation and our bure was obviously one of the ones already completed. The style is 1990's 4 star hotel, with an attempt at a beach vibe. The kitchenette is small, but has everything you'd need for a short stay. The internet access is 'pay by use' which is disappointing. We had dinner in the restaurant Finz by the Beach which was lovely. The staff accommodated our request for a table at the window and were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was that my medium rare steak was well-done, the quality of the food was high and presentation was top-notch. The beach access was easy and the grounds were clearly marked with maps at each intersection of paths. The parking was easy and secure. We had a blast there. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing beach break away from the main tourist area.
great location, wonderful surroundings”
Aanuka Resort is a worthwhile stay, situated on the beach at Coff's Harbour,it has wonderful views of the water from the dining area,a very relaxed atmosphere set amongst lush, tropical gardens with facilities catering for the entire family. The resort is spread out on a very large property with covered walkways, tennis courts, gym, separate pools for both children and adults, an aviary, bar and restaurant and convention centre. It is only 10 minutes drive from the town centre and across the road from the 'Big Banana'. The rooms have been revamped; however the bathroom is still a little datedand and needs a new shower head.
return visit”
We stay here when visiting family in Coffs Harbour. The two room units are ideal for us and the kitchens usually functional with a full size fridge. The water features like pools and spas are ideal for family and so close to Diggers beach which is excellent for walking and swimming. Casay's restaurant serves quality meals and we have had many enjoyable lunches and dinners there with family members. Staff are friendly and helpful so we always feel at home.
Always love Aanuka. The view, the meals are wonderful and the staff lovely. ”
We first stayed at Aanuka when my son was about three. He is now 30. We holidayed there often when he was a child and revisited it with my son and his future bride when she thought she would like a tropical wedding near the beach. We suggested Aanuka and immediately we took her there she was excited. Wedding there was wonderful. U’ve had a busy and sad time recently. First in hospital and then back to Sydney from port Mac immediately after leaving hospital - needed to be with my 95 year old Mum in her last days. Consequently we missed the opportunstely to celebrate our 45 wedding anniversary as she passed away on the date of our anniversary.- thus our evening at Aanuka. Thank you we had a lovely shortbreak. Regards Liz Paine
Fantastic”
Breakfree Aanuka is the perfect resort, especially with young kids. Its well laid out, has great facilities and the services was great. We will definitely be back.
Brilliant”
Stayed here 12 years ago, loved it then and love it now. It is a beautiful place and won't wait another 12 years before we return. It's the best resort in Coffs Harbour.
Great Location, plenty to do.”
Stsy at Breakfree Aanuka Resort was very relaxing. Heaps to do, kept the children very entertained from surfing, tennis, mini golf, 4 pools with a mini slide, beach volleyball. Staff very friendly. Only complaint thought rooms could have been serviced more regularly, stayed one week and not once were the towels changed, had to launder myself.
Relax in simple paradise ”
Aanuka is a gorgeous little resort, stayed for a night, the beach is a very short walk and ammenities available are awesome, they have a cute little cafe on the resort that you can see views of the beach from, if you are going in the winter the have outdoor seating with a wood fire to keep you warm and toasty hot choc goes perfectly. They only down side is that the reception on resort is very bad, so you have to get wifi if essential, but I’d recommend not to and enjoy the views and nature your stay.
Awesome Hotel/Resort Amazing location”
Though we stayed during winter the location is absolutely INCREDIBLE! ! Set upon a private beach this resort oozes fwmily fun with an on site mini waterpark for kids (with slides and hot tubs set in caves! ) mini golf and volleyball nets, tons of play areas and great huts for families..we simply can not wait to return with our daughter's (13 and 10) Breakfast was fantastic, all huts are set amongst a thousand trees...simply an amazing place close to EVERYTHING Coffs has to offer
alright a stay.”
we reached coffs harbour after the sun had set. the roads leading to the hotel did not have streetlights and it was a little scary making our ways. for us we drove, so there was the car's headlights and gps to navigate ard. the resort is a pretty big resort. staff was friendly and she assigned a room to us right at the other end of the resort. it was really secluded i felt uneasy. room & toilet was big compared to other hotels i had stayed during the trip. aside from me being a scaredycat, everything else was ok. the breakfast buffet spread is pretty decent too.
Lovely stay ”
(long overdue review) We are a group of three couples travelling together and stay at Aanuka for a night. Friendly and smiley staff. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Villa was well equipped . Short walk to the beach was lovely . We wished we had spent more time there.
Very relaxing stay”
Too short! had a very relaxing stay at the Aanuka. Found a huntsmen spider in my room which woke me up at 6am. When I checked out I told the manager of the hotel and he said I could have called reception and they would have come and caught the spider and taken it outside - i'll remember that for next time I stay! The breakfast was amazing - so much variety! Would definitely stay again.
Must go'”
Wonderful, only for one night, this was the second time we had visited. The unit was close to everything yet quiet, private; open plan , comfortable king bed and spa in bathroom with glass rooftop - just fantastic. Bar and resturant over resort beach, beautiful; food lovely and beer cold! All staff fantastic, could not praise Aanuka enough.
great place to stay”
great place to stay with the family, close to the places in coffs harbour.
Great location, but a little dated”
Great location, super convenient to Coffs and its attractions. Great setting, pool area and gardens are beautiful. Rooms were tidy, spacious and comfortable. Some of the decor is a little dated but all of the fittings and furnishings were functional and comfy. We stayed in a two bedroom villa. Only bad impression was the smell when we first walked in. Not sure if it was a dodgy smelling cleaning product or something else.
Excellent”
Coffs is a great place and this is in the perfect location, and a great resort thats spread out enough so you are not on top of other guests all the time usual Australian customer service levels but overall still very good, was not a fan of their pillows.
great location right on beach, excellent for families with facilities for everyone”
if back in the Coffs area we will most certainly stay here again. A beautifully located place with great facilities and at a bargain price. 5 out of 5
Good choice in Coffs Harbour especially for families”
Like most 4* places in Coffs Harbour (there aren't any 5*!) it is a bit old and tired. It has a nice beach and good facilities for families. I liked sitting around a fire pit for a sundowner - very convivial atmosphere. Staff are really helpful and polite.
Beautiful place, but car is a must.”
Our stay was very good but had we had a car it would have been a lot better, getting around to all the wonderful attractions at Coffs Harbour was difficult.Loved the surrounding gardens and the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were very helpful at all times.
Lovely beach ”
i wanted to stay at a place on the beach away from the town. aanuka more than met my expectations in this regard. it was right on a little secluded beach. i walked around the resort and it certainly did have that tropical resort feel as advertised. the restaurant and pool area had a very relaxing atmosphere. the bure was comfortable and well furnished but given its set up as a little unit, i would have liked a stove top, instead it only had a small electric frying pan. there was also a strange smell when i first walked in, possible some sort of deodorizer, but not pleasant at all. i arrived late evening and, as the rooms are quite a way from the carpark, i was helped to my room with the luggage. the morning i left, however, the staff were not so friendly so i called reception for help or an umbrella but was told that they did not provide porter service. they also advertise that they have wireless internet. i could not connect to it at all and was given a very weak excuse as to why not. i eventually used their internet kiosk at $5 for ½ hour on a very slow connection.
