Great location but rooms are very small.”
This is our third stay at the Bridal Tea House Hung Hom Winslow Hotel. I like the hotel because it is inexpensive, located close to the downtown area via metro. You can walk from your hotel to eat, sight see, shop, and catch tour buses. The rooms are compact and clean. Just enough room to sleep then get up and go. For the price, the hotel has value. Will stay again when I travel to Hong Kong.
Everything I Needed for a Comfortable Stay”
I had never been to Hong Kong before and was in town just over the weekend to take the LSAT. I was on a tight budget and decided that the Bridal Teahouse was the best value I could find that would ensure my test-taking wouldn't be affected negatively by my living conditions. It was indeed exactly what I needed. The room was small, with only a narrow strip of floor space across the length of the bed. The bathroom is small but a good size for a Hong Kong budget hotel, so I hear (it has a separate shower whereas many cheaper places will have the shower head in the toilet area). There was also a tiny nook with a mini desk and chair and a tiny table next to the window. Despite the smallness, it was fine for me, though I can imagine a couple staying there might feel a little cramped if needing to walk around in the room at the same time. Slippers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, body wash, a kettle, a couple teabags and bottles of water and, of course, towels were all provided. Everything was clean and well cared for. The room had a good AC (that I was surprised seemed to have stayed on while I was gone), a phone, and a TV--though that only had three channels, one each in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. The bed felt soft by Chinese standards, but I have been living in the mainland for a while and am used to hard beds. I've seen other reviewers complain about them, but they're not bad if you know what to expect in China. If you are on a budget and won't be spending much time in your hotel room, I highly recommend this hotel. If you spend time in your room to relax, you might want to look past the budget category in Hong Kong. Location was great: right next to the MTR and across the street from a cluster of convenient and reasonable restaurants (though you might need to know a little Chinese or be adventurous to take advantage).
small but nice”
I primarily selected the Bridal Tea House due to is close proximity to Hung Hom station. This is a great plus. You can walk the whole way from station to hotel without needing to carry your luggedge down staircases or the like. Plus almost the whole way is covered. The hotel staff was very friendly. Staff could speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English though conversation in Mandarin was easier than in English. Other reviewers criticized the room size. Though small they are clean and modern. The walls are a bit thin so it might not be a good choice for light sleepers. All in all I would choose this hotel again.
Good & reasonable hotel”
Hotel is situated in the heart of the city in Hong kong, neares to MTR train stations & city bus stops. The hotel rooms are very clean, neat & hygenically good. The room tariff is affordable and worth value for the money. The rooms are cleaned everyday without fail & the toileteries are of good quality. Main point of Hong kong Hung hom hotel is - It's in the heart of the city and very nearer to Mc Donald which is open 24 hrs. The hotel staff is very co operative and friendly Hotel serves a good morning breakfast with high tea which is really worth for the money it charges.
One of the rare mid-budget hotels in HK”
This hotel is convenient with its proximity to Hung Hom station, from which you can hop on a train and to either the Hong Kong - China border (and walk over to Shenzhen China), or direct to Guangzhou. The room standard/comfort leaves something to be desired, a very small room with some mark on the wall etc. But a good price, if you go down in price, you end up in the infamous Chungking/Miradoor mansions joints (where we booked 3 nights but could only bear 2 nights and had to leave early because it was so bad) while if you go up in price, unfortunately you have to pay a lot more. I find that there is very little choice in Hong Kong when it comes to mid-budget price (i.e. not low-budget, but a tier above, yet still can be considered 'budget'), and Bridal Tea House is one of them.
Very small room but clean & near to Hung Hom”
Clean and secure for the budjet. Near to Hung Hom station. If no or less lugguage you can walk down to the hotel from Hung Hom station. Staff good and cooperative. When you go with family you feel secure in this hotel compared to Chung king mansion. Though near to Hung Hom looks to be residential area. You have departmental stores on the main road just clos by. Winslow road is a small by lane which will not be known to general public. Take the clear map. Extremely small room, not even space to keep your lugguage. Hardly 8 to 10 inches space between two beds which are abbotted to the walls. This is the only negetive point. We stayed twice in this hotel because of the nearness to the Hung hom station and budget. I have stayed earlier in Ching king Mansion some guest house. but felt insecure with family. So shifted to this hotel.A little more space in the room would have made this hotel a better choice. Still OK for Hong Kong conditrions. No space to keep even a small bag. Most similar hotels will have space under the beds. But in this hotel the beds are box type. You can not keep or access below the bed. We kept our lugguage over the window.
Good & reasonable hotel at Hong kong”
Hotel is really good, worth for money, neat, clean and nearer to MTR train stations. The hotel staff is very co operative and friendly with helping nature. The rooms are small but comfortable and the bathrooms are very clean, cleaned on daily basis without fail. The beds are very comfortable and bed sheets, blankets & pillow cover are very clean and always looks like new. The morning breakfast with high tea is very good. The main part of comfort is money, the room tariffs are verymuch offerdable. The Hunghom Winslow hotel is very much in the heart of the city, nearer to Hunghom train station.
Value for Money”
it is worth with full facilities provided. The room is extremely small but compare to motel in TST, you may straight book this hotel. It is cheap with min 3 star hotel stay. Security wise very much better, but access wise will be by train/bus/taxi. Nothing much interesting place nearby except a plaza cross the road. 3 bus stop to pier 1 stop to hung hom train station (don't waste money, just walk up the bridge) 5min walking distance easy access 7 eleven cross the road supermarket just at the corner. good interior renovation done, it is like a new hotel in old building area.
A Great Flower among other Flowers”
Being aware on the standard room and sizes of bed in HK is a must for you not be shocked. The room was small as usual, but clean and has basic amenities(fridge, dryer, etc) except for the water heater that doesn't heat much and wifi not available in room, you have to go to lobby to use their internet. Communication is quite hard in hongkong, but being near to Hung Hom Station, you are connected to any place you want to go in HK. Being close to shop selling funeral flowers, you will find Bridal tea house a great flower to stay in.
Small room but great location”
Bridal Tea House Hung Hom Winslow Hotel is an average boutique hotel. Do not expect much from it. Room is small, however it's a norm in Hong Kong. Location is great for people intending to travel towards Shenzhen. A pleasant stay, but hotel is just good enough for a good night rest after a tiring day of shopping.
Budget and Clean Room”
Check in at 2pm. 10 mins walking distance from Hung Hom MTR to this hotel. Follow exit to Funeral Center or Hung Hom distinct will lead you to the hotel. We prefer to go with Hung Hom distinct exit, because shelter all the way, then cross the traffic light will reach hotel door step. There is a minimart near to hotel, within 2 mins walk. Quiet place after working hour. The hotel room is tiny but clean and tidy. All basic items are provided including hair dryer. Our room 23rd floor, good view of city. Don't have in room wifi. But you can access wi fi at hotel lobby or a rest room next to hotel. We enjoy our stay, and it is really worth for the price.
proximity to the mtr station ”
the best thing about bridal tea house in hung hom is its proximity to the mtr station if you are travelling by train. you may also shop around at metro which is also walking distance from the hotel. although it is situated along a busy street it does not bother a lot because the hotel ambiance is quiet and restful. rooms are a bit small but i found it cozy. the staff is accommodating and nice. the hotel lacks food service but you can find eating establishments and convenient stores outside.
Tidy and neat”
The hotel is located at the heart of Hong Kong. Just 5 min. walk from Hung Hom train station and bus stops. You can take A21 bus from the international airport to here. Also you can take No. 8A or 8P to go to Tsim Sha Tsui for shopping and sight seeing. The whampoa area is also good for shopping and there's a japanese supermarket called Jusco. The room is very very small, but every space is fully utilized. The bathroom is quite clean. There are 6 rooms, 2 shared balcony and a microwave machine on each floor.
Great location but small room”
five minutes walk away from hung hom mass transit railway (mtr). mtr is good to get almost everywhere in hong kong. the hotel was clean, small but extra space would've been unneeded. although it is close to a lot of transport, there isn't a decent restaurant closeby (within 15mins walk)
Reasonable /affordable Hotel at Hong Kong”
Bridal Tea House, Hunghom is a good affordable hotel at HK. The area around the hotel is good and the hotel itself stands in the heart of the city. The rooms are clean, neat and worth for the value. The hotel staff is also very friendly. The only problem I faced is the room size. The rooms are bit smaller but still comfortable for a single person. There is no much space to keep our luggage/belongings but still its worth for the money which I paid. The cleaning of room takes place everyday without any reminder and the hotel staff is very co operative, friendly and always with smiling face. I liked the hotel and the area where it is situated. Its hardly 5 minutes away from TST, which is the heart of the city.
October 3 2009”
I have lived in a hotel Winslow and it was very good location for mig. Walking a few minutes from the Hung Hom railway station. I came by coach from China. Walked a few hundred meters from the railway station. Wanted a taxi to the hotel. Taxi and you will see the house with 22 at. Where is the hotel, better to go than a taxi. The day after the bus to the airport 33 HKD. Incheck Hotel after at 2 PM, was allowed to leave the bag at the reception. Good. Quiet room, but the smallest rooms I have stayed at. I find it impossible to stay 2 people there. Clean and tidy and very good for solo travelers. If you are 2 people you have to have 2 rooms. Have 2 bags, you will probably put one in the shower. Shanghai has consistently small rooms in hotels. The hotel is clean and tidy and have good locations and as solo traveler, I am pleased and will hire me there when I travel alone.
Stay atthe Bridal Tea House Hung Hom Winslow Hotel”
Our stay at the Bridal Tea House Hung Hom Winslow Hotel was ok in general, as we knew it's very small. It's really small!! The bed was clean, TV was functional, shower was powerful, nothing really unacceptable, except it is very difficult to find it in the first time, we ended up taking a taxi from subway Hung Hom station, knowing it is only 5 minutes walk! The walk way is sooooooooo complicated(not after the first time of course)!
The hotel management upgraded my room.”
Due to renovation at bridal tea house hotel located at Winslow street, the management would like me to transfer to the same hotel located at Wuhu street and upgraded my room to more spacious room. Thank you.
good for sleeping and resting after walk all day i like this hotel because it's close to MTR Hung Hom station ,and you can use exit B to walk along cover way to Hung Hom district ,then across the road you will see the hotel.
Bridal Tea House Hung Hom Winslow Hotel is locate near hung hom Mtr station about 8 mins walking distance. The hotel building look very slim from the outside each floor hosts 4 rooms each room take up about 8 sqm.The hotel has very small lobby which only have space for small reception desk. Although the room are extremely small but it provides all the necessary stuffs for the guest such as tooth brushes, shampoo, soap, water bottel and hair dryer. The room is aceptable for its price, actually i expected it to be worst, having heard from those reviews of other people. The carpet on the floor is quit dirty, and the curtain is very dusty so may be those who allergic of dust should be beware for this, if you dont want to end up spend all night sneezing. The bed is quite comforatable the bed size is shorter than the normal bed so if you are big or your roomate is big please keep in mind that it would be uncomfortable. If you carry big luggage it likely that you dont have space in the room big enough to open your luggage. The hotel provide microwave for the guest to use. it will be avaliable on the corridor of your floor. for those who want to leave the luggage in the hotel after check out you can not do so. Because the hotel doesnt have enough space to keep your belonging. The solution is you could leave your luggage at the Hung Hom train staion. < mtr> they have the storage service which cost about 45 hkd for each luggage. the storage open form 7 am untill 10 pm. i hope this would be helpful for those who love economy travel. safe trip and have a great time.
