"My return visit after 7 years. The key cards didnt work well 7 years ago and this time the same. Very frustrating late on Public Holiday early reception closure - front door waited till someone else came along. And just trying to get into the room door. Apart from that the staff were excellent and my request for a specific type of room with balcony was allocated. The previous day my sister (who does not have the same surname as I ) tried to book that room and was told no. We ended up My sister in 01, myself in 02 and my niece in 03. All in a row with balconies. Attending a Memorial opposite at Royal Brighton Yacht Club was perfect place for me to stay."

"The hotel is very nice even is near the highway, it is very quiet with nice rooms, it could be the right choice to spend some days in Melbourne for business or vacation as well. The staff is very helpful and polite. The location is quite good with the Brighton beach and the mall far just few minutes away by car. if you are not looking for a accomodation in the center of Melbourne this is the right choice! "

"Very nice, modern and comfortable. Quite new building with excellent amenities. Brighton shops are just around the corner as well as excellent cafes and restaurants and movie theatre. The city is about 30 minutes by train and the station is 5 mins walk. This is an excellent alternative to an expensive city hotel or apartment. Brighton is one of the best suburbs in Melbourne and this location is in the best part of the suburb. We would recommend this venue and the area. The only downside is that the premises are right next to the railway line. However we found that this didn't bother us with noise. "

"Location is great with easy access to public transport to the city & surrounding areas. Swim beach across the street and plenty of walking paths to wander. Mary was very helpful and pleasant and great to deal with. There is a Coles, BWS, food stores & restaurants/cafes nearby if you didn't want to eat the pub grub at the hotel. The rooms were clean, quiet and decorated well I can only assume the view from the room is what is pulling the star rating down. Would definitely stay there again."

"Located just 5 mins walk from North Brighton station (which itself is only 20mins straight into the city or 5mins to Brighton beaches) Buckingham is one of the best places I have stayed in Melbourne. Extremely comfortable setting with more or less everything you would expect in the average home, kitchenette, washing machine etc etc; the rooms are clean and the complementary WiFi is a plus that makes it stand out further. Definitely worth coming back for!"
