Situated next to an 18-hole golf course, the traditional-styled hotel provides 255 en-suite bedrooms and is very close to the airport. The Britannia Country House Hotel is three miles from the Manchester International Airport. Located in the Didsbury area, it is also just a five-minute drive from the motorway network with easy access to the city center. Guests will find an excellent 18-hole golf course next to the property. The on-site restaurant offers guests a brasserie-styled dining experience with an a la carte menu. The hotel also features Fridays Nightclub & Bar - a favorite nightclub of many Manchester locals. The 3-star Britannia Country House Hotel is an ideal destination for travelers seeking charming accommodation close to the airport.

THEY STEAL FROM YOU. WARNING”
Be warned. They will use any excuse to take the £250 deposit. ANY. The staff are rude. Negligent and incapable of understanding the legal implications of their actions. This partucular branch should be avoided. At all costs. Or you will have a fine. For no valid reason. Always use a throw away credit card !!! Or you will find they can just help themselves to your money.. look into it. Its crazy.
Going to christies”
This hotel is ideally situated for the Christie hospital I only live 12 miles away from the hospital but we stayed there last Wednesday evening as my wife had an appointment at 8 am Thursday morning and decided to take the stress out of the travelling I am so glad we did the reception staff were excellent my wife is struggling to get about at the moment and they noticed this and gave us a upgraded room that was more disabled friendly than the room we where allocated thank you ladies it was so stress free she has an appointment at the same time this Thursday we are going to try to book the same room 🤞
Great value for money”
Staff were friendly and upgraded us to a family room instead of a twin room that I accidentally booked! (We’re a couple). It was spacious, clean and perfect location. Would have liked free WiFi that was the only downside!
great location, , good size room”
this hotel was fantastic for the price i paid., staff were very friendly, the room was a good size and very clean, the bed was comfortable. the location is close to the airport and the suttle bus was well organised and only £5. the hotel bar was reasonably priced , only problem was limited parking,i would stay here again
Cheap and cheerful ”
Stayed here twice and that was basically because of how cheap it is, it could be a very good hotel for the size of it, it's a few restaurants, a nightclub (only for private fucions) and a bar that's open to the public. It desperately needs refurbing throughout although having said this at the weekend they were redecorating the 4th floor corridor. The bar on the roadside definitely referbing, if not full my be a lick of paint.. white would be a good as it to dark. The staff in general a nice but there arnt many reception staff so can be hectic when checking in (and waiting to get your room key reset)
Too Hot & Pokey !!”
Had much better rooms on previous trips. Unfortunately this was a pokey twin bed room....... which overlooked an area at the back/middle of the hotel which had pipes/vents etc (probably catering areas)...... windows overlooked this enclosed area & therefore no fresh air. Bathroom also pokey & basic...... slight stale smell on entering room....... TV very small & sited at an angle from the beds - so uncomfortable to watch. Never had a room like this before here......... disappointed on this occasion.
Pay extra for facilities. ”
Not clear from the Agoda website (and Britannia website ambiguous) that using the pool, gym & spa incurs £5 fee person person per use. Agoda website needs updating to reflect that.
Great place to stay”
Very handy for the christie hospital and staff are really kind and helpful cant do enough for you 😚
Good value but watch out for the extras”
My daughter and I were very pleased with the spacious room, very comfortable beds and lovely ensuite - great facilities. However, when we arrived the receptionist was less than welcoming or helpful - did the bare minimum to check us in and responded to our questions very grumpily. Breakfast was lovely and there was some appreciated thought that had gone into providing some free from products. One of the waiters was very charming and friendly. However, the flat rate charge did not provide any breakfast options so regardless of whether all you wanted was a piece of toast and a coffee or a full English with all the trimmings it would cost you £10.50. The cost of WiFi was expensive too - £7 for 24 hours. The decor is a bit dated and gives the overall impression the whole place needs a refurb, particularly the carpet. However, it did the job for us even though the overall cost was doubled due to the overpriced extras.
I found this hotel perfect for my need to get to Manchester airport for an early morning flight. The staff were all most helpful and welcoming and the convenience of the restaurant was an extra bonus, not having to go in search of a good meal before turning in for the night. We were upgraded too which was a lovely surprise and the bed was very comfortable. Such a pleasant stay that we will use this hotel whenever we fly from Manchester, thank you all.
A great place, a great time.”
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Britannia. The staff were pleasant and customer-service oriented, the hotel itself had a nice "home-away-from-home" feel and the garden was an excellent place to sit back and unwind. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Superb hotel great location”
this hotel is one of the most friendliness i have ever stayed at. the building is impressive in itself. but opens up to many lovely things that makes a stay pleasant. spa and bars together with paces to eat. although at times seems busy it easily accomodates this. having sampled many of the rooms there is no change in standards, and are warm and welcoming. a bonus is a shuttle bus to the airport at an extremely reasonable rate.
Great location, great deal.”
on the night of our stay a singer was performing for hotel guests. reception staff were very helpful and the bar snacks menu (same as room service but cheaper) was good and wholesome. the room had a very large double bed and a large single bed aswell. the room was tastefully decorated and well serviced, thought there was a wine stain on the table which appeared to have been there some time. the tv remote did not work but who cares about the tv for one night when there was a singer downstairs providing live entertainment. all in all a great hotel to stay in and with parking included, what a bonus. will be staying again if we can get a similar deal next year. that is for definate, you start your holiday calm and relaxed, not having to worry about whether the roads will be busy or if there has been an accident on the motorway. it takes all the stress out of the journey and starts the holiday a day early.
Britannia Country House Hotel, Manchester”
The only downside of the hotel was the inability to park anywhere near due to the number of cars parked whilst their owners were away on holiday,a plus point ,though, if you have used the hotels stay/airport option.
Quality Country Feel!”
From the outside the Britannia is a beautiful building set back from the road so you feel like you have landed in a small country escape! Inside is just as impressive with a ballroom feel about the hotel and the front desk with the exception of one clerk was very helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and include a spa bath in the en suite to ensure relaxation is achieved!! I would definitely stay there again!
Rude noisy dirty ”
Staff rude ignored the fact we had requested to be off ground flood gave me a mucky look when I asked if we could go on a higher floor so that was a no!! And it was horifficly noisy all night people shouting up and down the hallway door slamming hotel was filthy stains on the bed bodily fluid stains all over the cushions cobwebs everywhere I will never return here I wouldn’t wish anyone having to go here!!
A cheap place to stay but the furniture and carpet is quite worn and the room/bathroom could have done with a deep clean (the bathroom smelled of smoke). The hotel did the job for me so no complaints overall.
Rude staff and dirty rooms ”
The room was dirty, disgusting stains everywhere. Smelt of smoke. The hair dryer broke and when we went down for a replacement we were met with rude staff who were refusing to give us another. Would never stay here again
enjoyable comfy ”
The stay was very good the hotel was excellent and good access to the airport
Very convenient & value for money”
We are attending Chritie’s NHS & the staff have been exceptionally helpful.
