Quick One Night Stay”
Hotel was excellently placed to get to London City Airport. Staff were friendly as I checked in rather late and they were able to accommodate me with a good room. Only issue was that the king size bed was two singles joined together and you could feel the join in the beds.
Through Agoda, value for money was excellent - normally, we would not have been able to afford to stay here. From my boyfriend and I, a slightly lower mark for location as it was not clear how to us how to get there. It is also not a quick, or cheap, journey into town. However, on our way home, we discovered that the DLR station at South Quay is more convenient than the one at Heron Quays and, because we were only going to Victoria, may have cost a bit less. Breakfast cost us £10 each and was worth every penny. The receptionist was friendly, helpful and even upgraded our room for the price we had already paid - to save money, we had booked a room with no window, but ended up with a window! Now we know what we know about the travelling, we will consider this hotel in the future.
It was ok ish stay”
I couldn’t sleep due to the constant noise coming from ceiling, called the reception(you have to pay to call), they said they cannot do nothing. I demanded that they change my room, or I leave! than they moved us to another room, disappointing experience...
Awful experience all round miserable staff and the room s were nothing like those advertised, tired ”
An awful awful upsetting time was had by m son and his family. Wat was promised was delivered, the rooms even though I asked for the row seeing as it was a family brea, with two young girls, was on a different floor the rooms were not the ones advertised. Dark and miserable with worn out decor and furnishings no towels in the rooms and windows selenocysteine fresh air, the A.I. condition g not working and the views of a building site...the overall experience was i my opinion most upsetting.
Very tired cold room with view of rubbish! ”
We stayed the night before the Marathon so the hotel was very busy. Our room on the second floor was a twin with a window, we needn’t have bothered with the window as it looked onto another wall, a broom and bag of rubbish! The heating didn’t work so we were cold and the room is in dire need of a refurb. Location was good and the lady who booked us in was pleasant, other staff members appeared dismissive towards us. Disappointing stay.
Definitely not a place to repeat. We only stayed there for convenience. Almost everything is bad about the hotel. Run down, the worst breakfast ever, very unprofessional staff.
Effetive Business Stay”
Two night stay for business at Canary Wharf, great service, breakfast was easy and choice of food in the evening if you can get out is good, right next to a foot bridge to get to the bulk of the offices makes this an easy place to stay.
Highly recommended hotel”
it's a bit of a walk from the nearest tube but definitely doable. the hotel isn't hard to find. the hotel staff are really friendly and think they gave me a free upgrade! the room was clean and spacious bathroom. not much food option at the hotel itself but a 7 min walk gets to you the underground mall with tons of eateries. definitely would stay again if the price is right!
When we booked it stated that there were swimming facilities but when we got there were then told the swimming pool closed down 7 months ago. The reason I booked the hotel was so me and my daughter could swim in the evening. Hotel were not interested as we had booked through a partner site. Very disappointed
Hotel Very Good - Booking Company (Agoda) Not so good”
Cannot fault hotel except 2 minor points queuing for booking took much longer than expected, and shower head in room was not fixed securely. Other than that my experience staying there was excellent. My issue was that when I booked with Agoda it was booked as bed (and Breakfast) but when the confirmation came through it only stated room only. I queried this with Agoda and they apologised but told me to pay for breakfast (£13.50) and send the receipt to them and they would refund me, I was not prepared to do this and asked them to confirm they would ask the hotel to bill them direct, but they never replied to this. I am diabetic and needed my breakfast so I went to the dining room for breakfast hoping it had been sorted, but it hadn't. Luckily I had the printed confirmation of my booking from Agoda. I explained to the restaurant manager that I was diabetic and he was brilliant, he told me to get my breakfast and sorted out the paperwork, which he did and I enjoyed an excellent breakfast
Not Free internet !”
Internet is free only for 20 minutes each per session per day in room and 30 minutes each per session per day in lobby. No toothpaste and tooth brush provided. Room for 2 but only 1 set of shampoo provided. Called for room services instead I've asked to go to receiption
good price business hotel”
located London Canary Wharf, surround by the skyscrapers such as HSBC, JP Morgan, it's good for the price but accommodation is out of date, need to updated to modern hotel immediately especially like USB outlet.
A bit old but very good value for money ”
Very good attitude from receptionist, Feels like a vintage, almost kitsch hotel, moot very well maintained but clean enough to stay for a few nights. They should really consider changing the carpet from the corridors.
Room lovely and clean had air conditioning but it was still hot couldn’t open windows. A little bit slow re- setting breakfast tables often had to go looking for cups spoons etc but on the whole friendly staff ,clean , plenty variety on menu didn’t book evening meal but found it wasn’t a problem to eat in restaurant on a evening and reasonably priced.
Easy access to DLR
Marathon stop over”
Very handy for the start of the marathon plus they run right past, rooms could do with updating but they had a bath and shower which was ideal for both spectators and runnners
I used to like your hotel for its great location and unassuming character but was very disappointed this time. Staff was really impersonal, room was not properly cleaned and I was literally facing the adjacent works and workers could see into my room as I was in the first floor. Furniture was really dated. I don’t think I will come back, sorry.
Worst accommodation I have had in many years”
If you are after cheap accomodation in a reasonable location, then this is fine, but that’s where the positives stop. We stayed 2 nights in late December 2018 and the rooms were old, dated, unclean. There are security cameras on every corner and probably found out why quickly. Each of the nights the corridors had drunken people banging on doors, yahooing and carrying on. Nobody seemed to care when I called reception. The rooms are very dated and the beds were uncomfortable. The dinner in the Italian restaurant was ordinary and the staff just stood around joking with each other and speaking loudly about one of the other staff. Very unprofessional. Reception staff seemed to care very little when discussing problems with people in our hallway. Didn’t sleep at all due to the problems being constant and not just a one off. If you have other options, go with them but if you don’t just understand that this location isn’t as flash as the pictures elude to.
Terrible experience ”
Booked a room for myself partner and two 1 year old twins. Twice in the night someone was trying to access our room. Then at 1:30 in the morning there was an argument next door that escalated to full scale fight with the police being called. Woke the babies up and we could not get back to sleep. In morning explained this to reception and the response of the woman there was maybe they just had a fight. No apology or explanation of what had occurred.
Nice place but dated”
Dried coffee not the best. No hot chocolate either in the rooms. No biscuits in room. Clean room though. The whole building seems a little dated and the stair carpets were held together with duct tape in places. Food was good but no fresh coffee in the mornjng. Tried to say I booked a room with no windows but had to argue the fact I paid more for a window.
