At a first glance, the hotel decoration looks out dated, but its facilities are very well and the staff team is very helpful.

In the middle of everything”
I love its location since it's located at the middle of the city, surrounded by everything you want. The hotel is old but classic. The stairs up to Second floors was superb. You can walk to the Tram in only 2 minutes. But, if you carry big luggage, note that there are stairs in front of the hotel that you have to help yourselves to carry them.

got a room with smoking allowed, air conditioning didn’t work and took forever to get a fan”
the hotel was at a good location, and we were excited to head to the room, but when we got there it was like a sweatshop! there were no windows, and the air conditioning didn’t work- it felt like we were living in a somewhat stylish rock. my friend and boyfriend went to reception to get it sorted, yet when came up they simply said that they were going to get a fan instead- it took the staff 45 minutes to find a fan and deliver it to us. if you’re basically a recluse and don’t like sunlight then i definitely recommend it to you, but if you’re somewhat human and appreciate sunlight and a room with normal heat then maybe look somewhere else.

Had a very pleasant stay over a weekend. ”
Room was lovely and warm, very clean. Even though we were 5th floor up you could hear the beat of the music in the room. Also could do with more sound proofing between the rooms.. Evening 4course meal very reasonable but food could be a little warmer.

Perfect for our short stay”
Great location in the centre of Manchester, staff friendly and helpful when I needed to change rooms and when I mislaid my passport (many thanks), clean and comfortable, breakfast buffet good, didn't have dinner so can't comment. I had an internal room without a window but this wasn't a downside as it meant I got a great nights sleep with no outside noise!

Very good”
Stayed for 3 nights. The place needs a bit of investment. It's a bit run down. Room was ok but some lights didn't work and the be was ancient. Not many plug points etc. The staff were really good but some of the other guests looked very dodgy. Nothing bad happened to me though. There was a bit of noise at night sometimes from slamming doors etc, but you get that at all hotels I supposed. It was ok considering the price that I paid.

Great location and great price considering how central this hotel is. The furniture is quite dated but was fine. Bed was comfy and staff were lovely. If you want to be central and your on a budget then this is a great option.

Nightmare ”
Book the hotel on a last minute not many hotel was available for 50£ due to Manchester vs Derby on the nite . They gave me a room at the far end of the hotel virtually last room , which is smaller no window low ceiling . The hotel was a converted cotton mills build in 1880’s The room feels uneasy ,however after the evening pass midnight there are strange noise on top floor , people walking on wooden floor . I requested for a room change at 12:30 am I told the front desk . They say they don’t know what’s the noise . So they let me changed to a new room that’s is not too far from the lift. . Came out from room at 8:30am to the lift , two corps was at the lift areas sealed off , the corps asked if I seen anything night before . I said no. Corps told me someone jump off the window at ealry dawn and die at the back lane . saw on BBC news reported 2 died in the hotel one in the room and the other jump off the building. Google on the hotel they will tell you the the Unpleasant news

Location is perfect, centre of Manchester city centre. 5 mins walk can lead to a few popular bars. A magnificent hotel from outside, however it's pity that the facilities inside are a bit old. Staff are friendly. In general, we had a pleasant stay in this hotel.

BAKING HOT BUT NO FAN&CAN'T OPEN THE WINDOW”
It's an awful experience. I wouldn't try to save pennies to come into this hotel again. The roof window couldn't open, you would actually feels like you are living in a sauna. And when I try to reach out the phone for front desk help, and it doesn't work. I asked, the reception said they're busy and they will require for the electricity fan. I said the phone doesn't work so the staff can only KNOCK ON THE DOOR. Have an early train to catch so I am worried I couldn't be able to sleep and tomorrow morning I will be super tired. DISAPPOINTING. 2/10

We loved it here so much. The hotel has so much class and elegance. The stairs, the rooms, even the carpets. Everything is so classy that we were definitely in awe by it. We enjoyed this hotel so much as it is in the city centre and so easy to get around by walking.

Efficient check in, value, location
Fast check in and check out. This is the second time I've stayed here recently and I have been very pleased. I had breakfast and this was varied and tasty. The hotel is fairly old but not without charm and the rooms are clean. It is centrally located and I would recommend this hotel for anyone eating or drinking in central Manchester.

Good central hotel”
Location, price, comfort
Check in and check out were both very easy and I was in my room within minutes. The room was large enough for one person and comfortable. The only problem was that it was cold. It was a nice day in mid May but I was chilly when I got to the room. I put the radiator on but nothing happened. I was warm enough in bed though. I slept well but was woken up when housekeeping came in the room in the morning. I hadn't put up the "do not disturb" sign but as I was checking out a few hours later I didn't understand why they had to come in then. All in all it was a good price for a central hotel.

Great hotel. Great Locations.”
Location is located in the city centre. Anywhere's near.
I stayed there for a day only. But I felt that it's one of the best and affordable hotel in Manhester. Walk-in rate might be more expensive than Agoda rate. Agoda rate is the best. I rented Executive double room. It's very comfortable room n cozy enough. I would recommend this place and rate it as 4 star.

Disaster stay”
We booked this Hotel, not for budget reasons but for its location, we had to be at a meeting very early morning and the building was next to it. Aside from the location, it’s an awful place. Everything is dated, old, dirty and filthy. Staff was most unhelpful and frankly shabby. No phone in the room and when trying to call from own mobile, dtill no reply?! My husband enquired at reception and there was no apology, only told that phones were down and no news when it would be fixed. Twice we had random people knocking on the door with very poor looks almost called the police. We actually started feeling unsafe. Will never go back, recommend or even consider!
