Just incredible”
I have just returned home to Thaialnd from a 4 day trip to beautiful Shanghai. The Broadway Mansions hotel is steeped in history, being built in 1935, in fact the Snooker table in the hotel's British Bar is the original table from that era, although the cloth has been changed!! The hotel was beautiful, in a great location on The Bund, and the staff are very friendly and un like many places in Shanghai, spoke perfect English. I am definitley going to Shanghai, and in particular this hotel again, and would highly recommend this great value hotel through Agoda, to all of my close frinds and family. A definite must is the open top double decker bus aound the city, you can use it unlimited for 2 days and hop on and off as you like, a great way to sight see all the historical attractions.

Great Value - Great Views - Great Location”
Located a stones' throw away from the Bund and old British Consulate, the Broadway Mansions proved to be a great value for money, with excellent staff and convenient facilities. Towards the east, you have the vibrant Bund dining and shopping districts, and towards the west, you get a taste of traditional Shanghai with local street food on Minghang and Changxi Roads. Further west is the shopping district of Qipu Road, akin to the likes of Camden or Paddy's markets, on steroids. Overally, Broadway Mansions sits on the outskirts between new and old in Shanghai and is the perfect location for you to explore both sides of this wonderful city.

Super hotel, topnotch service, unbeatable location”
Although we were first assigned to a smoking room, we got that sorted quickly and our stay was a 10 out of 10. We booked a Deluxe Bund view room and although we were only on the fifth floor, the view was amazing. The room was very well appointed, and all the staff were superb. Compliments to the Customer Service Managers as we really appreciate their personal assistance and interest in making sure our visit was the best it could be. It was my wife's birthday during our visit, and the hotel figured this out on their own and presented us with a fantastic birthday cake and card. That's never happened anywhere for us.. and we spend many birthdays in Las Vegas. On check out, we were invited to relax in the executive lounge while we had to wait a few hours to head out to the airport. Totally unexpected. We will certainly stay at Broadway Mansions on our next visit. Why bother experimenting elsewhere when the folks here do such a fine job. My compliments to everyone who works/manages Broadway Mansions.

Great location, outstanding staff and superb value!”
Broadway Mansions Hotel is a bit older but certainly lives up to the western 5-star experience. It is also great value as compared to other hotels in the area. This hotel is at a great location and the rooms are large and renovated. The buffet breakfast is outstanding and has a variety of Western options to choose from. Facilities are reasonable and spacious, with adequate equipment there for a workout. Internet is decent speed and rooms include free WIFI. The staff working there were great and very helpful. On our last day there, one of the Concierge went above and beyond and spent 20 minutes calling up other hotels to help us solve a luggage storage issue. We were as surprised as we were grateful for his excellent help... We would stay at Broadway Mansions Hotel once again when visiting Shanghai!

Wonderful location, great service, older building”
we stayed at broadway mansion for about 10 nights over christmas and new years. the location is absolutely wonderful - just a short stroll from the bund (across the bridge), there are various bus stops close by if you want to take public transport, and the bell boy is always willing to help you get a taxi. the rooms are slightly dated but the bathroom is very clean. the beds are a good size and quite comfortable. we got the river view room which overlooks the huangpu river (and the bund further in the background) - we weren't in the room too often but the view was very pretty at night. the main shortcoming of the hotel is a lack of free wifi internet in the rooms. the daily charges were a bit exorbitant for internet access in a place like shanghai (especially for the period we were staying!). apart from that we enjoyed our stay.

Broadway Mansions - August 2009”
We booked our holiday online at the Broadway Mansions and found that when we checked in the rooms were ready and our check in was smooth and speedy. The rooms are bright and clean and have very good bathroom facilities including a bath and walk in shower plus bathrobes to fit western bodies. The windows are double glazed and sound proof but can be opened if you prefer fresh air. We used room service on several occasions and found the service to be quick and the food arrived hot. The hotel is located at the end of the Bund [which is under repair as is most of Shanghai at the moment in preparation for the Expo in May 2010] it is in a quiet area for shopping but is only a 15 minute walk to Nanjing Road or a 20/30 rmb taxi ride to any of the shopping centres or markets. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks at Broadway Mansions Tip: buy a sim card from the Concierge and use it to make calls back to Australia or where ever, it is much cheaper.

Great location, huge room, value for money”
Do not be deceived by the exterior of the hotel. It looks old on the outside, but the rooms are marvelous. Value-for-money, given its proximity to The Bund and also the size of the room that was offered to me. I booked a Deluxe River View room, and was pleasantly surprised that I had a room which was the size of a serviced apartment, with a living room, a dining room, a bedroom, a storeroom and a kitchenette. Besides the room, the hotel restaurant offers a great view of the Huangpu river and the Shanghai skyline. One has to wake up early to get breakfast in order to have the window seats. Strongly recommended for those who wants convenience and a great river view.

The last affordable Grand Hotel on The Bund”
I stayed already many times at The Broadway Mansions hotel, this time was my first time on a private trip. Make sure to book a riverview room to be able to enjoy the breathtaking view of The Bund and the Pudong Skyline at night. As far as I know this is the only affordable Riverview Hotel in the first row at The Bund. Plus: We had a room with the largest comfy bed I ever sleeped in. Nice!

Fantastic hotel, great location - avoid breakfast”
stayed here for 2 nights in march 2011. had a riverview room on executive floor which was very luxurious and spacious and we enjoyed the night-time view over the bund. location is very convenient for sightseeing along the bund and is in walking distance of shopping areas. only disappointment was breakfast. the selection of food was quite poor and dishes were not refilled. when we finally found a member of staff and asked her to refill some dishes, even then it took a long time and we had to ask a second time. if going to shanghai again, i would stay here, but i would not pay for breakfast. there are cafes on the bund promenade which are better value for money for breakfast.

Great location, excellent service from happy staff”
This hotel was everything we expected. We booked online in a country we had never visited and were pleased with every aspect of the offerings at this hotel. When booking make sure you ask for non smoking room (if you want one) and definitely ask for a room with a river view - it is stunning. This hotel is not 5 star but does not claim to be. You walk out he door and you are on the Bund and it is a short taxi ride to many other interesting sites. If wifi is important to you then check availability. Some rooms have it, others you need to go downstairs and sit in the lobby to use it. We used the hotel transfer services as a group of 4 and they were very good. If there is only a couple it would be cheaper to use local taxis.

This hotel is perfectly situated at the end of the Bund. It's a short walk to the scenery of the Bund and the Pudong and finding transportation to other locations was never a problem. The room was spotlessly clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel has a rich history, and offers many pluses, but if you're the type to be upset by a cracked tile in the shower, this may not be your place. The room was very spacious, and the lobby was expansive and gorgeous. We were impressed with the quality of the linens, the service, and how quiet it was at night. Our only slight disappointments were that breakfast is not included and is very pricey, and that they charge for wireless access in the rooms.

recommended to visitors of shanghai as it is strategically located in the middle of most popular tourist sites. the staffs were really helpful in making your stay a pleasant one, and room service was always readily available. it is pleasant to find your room nice and tidy after a trip out. the hotel has a great view of the bund and its night lights.

Wonderful stay， friendly and attentive staff. Currency exchange machine is accessible in the hotel lounge. Room is large with 2 walkout city view balcony. The King size bed is very comfortable. Buffet breakfast has a wide variety of eastern and western selections with personal service. Overall, our stay is enjoyable will recommend Broadway Mansions to others.

Great location right on The Bund”
we were upgraded to a 15th floor room (with a small payment to include breakfast). the view from the balcony was so interesting that you could watch it for hours on end: people walking on the bund, tai chi, flying kites, wedding photos, endless cruise boats and barges on the river. the hotel staff are very good, with a "can do" number to dial for any assistance. we didn't seem to be able to get the free wi-fi easily though. we didn't get to see any rooms other than on our executive floor! the english pub was empty which was a shame. the breakfast was buffet style and very good, although not cheap, so try and get that included.

I used to live in Shanghai so I knew that area pretty well. The hotel is located in one of the best areas of Shanghai. Just with a few minutes walk away from the Bund. The architecture of the hotel is great and also all the buildings around it. Totally recommended and I will stay there again if I have the chance!

If I were to go to Shanghai again, I would definitely stay in this hotel. The staff were very friendly and could communicate very well in English. My room was really big, I especially like the view and the large size of the bed. The hotel is really close to the Bund which takes only 1 min to go there on foot.

our booking into the hotel was very smooth. our room with a view of the bund was fantastic. the room was large and comfortable. the bathroom, with separate shower and bath, was extremely clean. the bed was large and comfortable. we were on the 11th floor and had the use of the executive lounge which made the hotel experience even more enjoyable. we could not fault the hotel for comfort or price.
