          Great one nighter”

Had to make a last minute trip to the hill for a funeral. Tourist Lodge was cheap, clean and in a good location. Felt very safe as a solo female traveller and even the shared bathroom wasn't an issue. Would stay again.

          Decent budget option”

Comfortable beds and conveniently located. Shared showers and toilets are very clean and work very well. There are signs up in the showers saying to have short showers because of the drought, however the shower heads are ancient, and let out water at a very high rate. The Tourist Lodge could substantially reduce its water bills and help the drought situation just by changing over the shower heads to modern, water-efficient ones.

          An unpleasant experience”

The lodge is very old. Clad in corrugated iron. Floors creak very badly, especially in the room we were given where each step created a noise. Shower rose in the communal bathroom sent more water out sideways than forwards soaking my clothes. I got a three inch gash in my leg while turning over in bed and sliding my leg up. This was caused by something sharp protruding through the very old innerspring mattress I was sleeping on. The position in town is good and the small pool looked ok but would I stay there again? NO! Not even for free. At $89 dollars it was VERY much overpriced.

Comfortable. However, a breakfast pack will cost you $4.00.no bread or condiments are in the kitchen. No TV or coffee making facilities in the room. There is a TV room for guests. A single room is far too expensive.

There are a lot of sudents living at the lodge.Television is a problem as these students do not like the TV interupting their studies.which they do in the kitchen/dining room. Although the TV is there, the chances are that you will upset other guests if you turn it on. The students study from 5pm onwards. Some nights I could hear another guest's radio a couple of rooms away which makes sleep difficult....the walls are paper thin.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable, The floorboards are really noisy, This is a hostel not a motel, it was cheap and if you want to save money go here but please be aware that this hostel has the worst beds I've ever slept in, I have traveled around Eastern Europe and stayed in some dodgy places but this one wins for most uncomfortable bed.

Ok I paid $80 for 2 single beds and a heater. It boils down to you get what you pay for. If you have very little money and only want a bed for the night stay here. If you want internet, a toilet and bathroom in your room go to a motel.
