Decent budget option”

Comfortable beds and conveniently located. Shared showers and toilets are very clean and work very well. There are signs up in the showers saying to have short showers because of the drought, however the shower heads are ancient, and let out water at a very high rate. The Tourist Lodge could substantially reduce its water bills and help the drought situation just by changing over the shower heads to modern, water-efficient ones.

Good”

For a budget accommodation this place is fine. It is basic but beds were comfortable with fresh crisp bed linen and room clean but tired.. Kitchen facilities are decidedly lacking with minimal suitable cutlery and crockery. Cannot wash and dry dishes if no tea towel is provided! Never saw any staff in time there

An unpleasant experience”

The lodge is very old. Clad in corrugated iron. Floors creak very badly, especially in the room we were given where each step created a noise. Shower rose in the communal bathroom sent more water out sideways than forwards soaking my clothes. I got a three inch gash in my leg while turning over in bed and sliding my leg up. This was caused by something sharp protruding through the very old innerspring mattress I was sleeping on. The position in town is good and the small pool looked ok but would I stay there again? NO! Not even for free. At $89 dollars it was VERY much overpriced.

Crap!”

I’ve stayed at a few places around the state, but this is the worst. The door didn’t lock properly, it stunk of cigarettes, the decor is dated from the 70s including the old clock radio in the head board. The lighting was terrible. The ironing board was broken so I couldn’t iron my business clothes for the day. The toilet holder was broken with I toilet paper, the old broken soap dispenser had cigarette burns on it, the sink was cracked and dirty. Low water pressure. The bed was however clean and comfortable which would have been great except the noise from the emergency housing in the rooms next door kept me awake all night, one side started at 11pm-3am, the other side started at 4am. I paid more for this joint because it was close to town. Do not waste your time.

This place is dirty, creepy, and not worth the money. I would not stay here again. I did not see a single member of staff the whole time I was here, and had to hang blankets across the window to keep out the blinding fluorescent lights in the areas outside. Stay anywhere else!
