Wonderful staff and a pleasure to stay”
Very helpful staff - we were stranded without a room in Kingston upon Thames late one night after a Travelodge had let us down with a booking. We managed to secure a room online at Brooks Lodge and everything couldn't have been better when we arrived half an hour later. We'd had a lond tiring day and it was so mice to arrive and be met by very nice helpful staff . we were given a lovely quiet room and anything we needed the staff were there to help us. We could overlook a lovely internal courtyard which was lovely to sit and have a drink and if we'd not been heading to Wimbledon that morning we would have happily sat there and chilled all day! Staff helped us to get transport to Wimbledon and even stored our luggage safely until we collected it later than night. had we not had another booking elsewhere we would have stayed put. Only 10 mins bus journey to town. Definitely stay again. If you're looking for charming hotel in Kingston with great staff this is it.

I enjoyed my brief stay at swallow kingston lodge, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The entrance was lovely but it went downhill from there. The bedroom was outdated and a little unclean particulary under the bed. At breakfast they ran out of milk and there was very little choice from the buffet or the hot breakfast.

Better Than Expected”
We wanted an inexpensive place to stay which provided Wi-Fi, breakfast and car parking. This hotel did all of that in a pleasantly relaxed atmosphere which we really enjoyed. The staff were outstanding with their attitude and helpfulness - we would happily stop here again.

The hotel public area looked very cosy with the fire places but they were not lit until the evening, it was absolutely freezing. The rooms also were freezing, we had to ask for extra heaters and blankets, which were supplied so this made us think that this was quite a common complaint. Whenever I have stayed in a hotel I have always found the opposite and have had to open windows or put on air conditioning. Our rate included breakfast hot and cold but this too was not very warm. We also had to ask for heaters to be brought to the room where breakfast was being served, it was so cold. For the price we paid I would definitely not stay here again. It was November but it was warmer outside than inside this hotel.

pros- great staff!! Really top notch, good internet Cons- not cheap, 20 mins walk from town centre, no lifts not very buggy friendly - stairs to restaurant and rooms- not practical when you have young children, buggies etc- but staff are helpful.

A very pleasant overnight stay.”
The room and bedding was very nice and comfortable. The bathroom was nice and clean and properly equipped. The breakfast was mediocre, looking like it was cooked awhile ago even though we were up reasonably early. The tea was stewed in a flask and undrinkable.

Disapointment ”
When arriving to the hotel the room number was not very clear at all so ended wondering around looking where to go. As we were never told The big rainfall shower head had less that half working. The bathroom had obvious dust along the skirting board. The air vents above the windows had tissue stuffed in them to stop air coming through. The mirror had white spots from what looks like toothpaste all over it. The carpet next to the bed had a large sick looking stain next to it which hadn't been cleaned properly. For the money I paid for the night I was rather disappointing.

Very outdated and uncomfortable rooms. The mattress in our room had a dip in it, it was very old and used, we requested to change rooms and can’t fault the staff, they were very accommodating however the second room was not much better. With just a few hours into our sleep the mattress already gave us sore backs, you can only imagine what it was like in the morning!

Dieses Hotel ist definitiv in die Jahre gekommen und bedarf einer umfassenden Sanierung. Die Möbel sind abgewohnt, Tapeten im Zimmer teilweise abgerissen: wo ehemals Bilder hingen sind nur noch die Schrauben vorhanden. Während unseres Frühstücks, das wir im Wintergarten eingenommen hatten, regnete es an verschiedenen Stellen durch das Glasdach. Für den Leiter des Hotels kein Problem, es wurden einfach Sektkühler aufgestellt, die das Wasser auffingen. Auch das Frühstücksbüfett ließ zu wünschen übrig: nur an 3 Tagen gab es Croissants, ansonsten nur Toastbrot und einfachste Aufbackbrötchen. Der Joghurt stand 3 Tage in der Schüssel, danach gab es keinen mehr; auf meine Nachfrage hieß es, er wäre nicht geliefert worden. Der Bacon war ungenießbar, wurde vermutlich bereits um 7 Uhr gebraten und schmeckte natürlich 2 Stunden später nicht mehr. Außerdem gab es auch kein gekochtes Frühstück mehr. Da ich im Sommer 2015 bereits 2 Wochen in diesem Hotel verbrachte, habe ich den direkten Vergleich.
