An ok hotel, near the North Gate”
Rooms are large enough, beds are good. Bathroom and shower are good. Staff was great with us, extra helpful! The location is ok, near the North Gate (quite close there is a very crowded food market and a red bus stop - you pay BTH 60.- for a one-way ride to Doi Suthep). Good value for money!
Once you walk out of the hotel, turn left, there are plenty of streetfood for you to choose in the night time. If you turn right, there is a 7eleven. If you want to go to Chinatown, just order a grab, cost abt 70baht The breakfast is average unless you like chinese porridge very much if not you can skip the breakfast. The only unpleasant thing is that the aircon noise and the corridor noise is unbearable sometime and towels need more cleaning. Other than this, bed is comfortable. Overall, acceptable stay.
Good location and good service”
The hotel in good location many popular local food nearly the hotel. Not far to Tapae gate and walking street. Breakfast not various but good taste. Only one thing that I not ok with the room. It have only one pillow for one person but it not enough for us. When I requested for one more they will charge me 50 baht/pillow. I never found it in other hotel. In every other hotel they provide for free of charge even a small hotel. The management team should thing about this because it must inclusive of the hotel service.
Large Room , Very Clean , & Good location ”
The bathtub had mould in it and looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. Ants were in the room even though we never brought food in. Staff was friendly.
Pros, great spot, very clean, bathtub was wonderful. Cons, agoda said free breakfast and hot tub but there was neither
It's very near the night market for food and convenient stores.
Tasteful, but a few signs of age”
The hotel (especially the lobby) is pleasant with ample northern Thai decor. Spacious and welcoming. The guest room (superior double) has older solid wood furniture, and a mattress that passes, but isn't outstanding. The bathroom is clean, a bit cramped. Nice bathtub. Good view (sixth floor) of the mountain. Parking is convenient. Did not eat the breakfast, but it appears to be the basic level of breakfast buffet. The street food market in front of the hotel in the evening is a lively experience with crowds of both tourist and Chiang Mai residents. Easy to get transport from the hotel to anywhere else. Staff are capable and pleasant, though not overly invested in the guests. Finally, the hotel caters to Chinese tourists, though that was not a drawback during our stay. Overall, clean, tasteful, convenient, but some worn edges aesthetically. I'd go back.
Ok for a layover....”
Foyer looks ok. Rooms in essence are old but still ok though lacks the charm of most boutique hotels. I had a room facing the street and the mirror was facing the sun on the other side hence the bathroom felt warm after 11am. Good for a layover or transit but don't expect much. Didn't try breakfast so can't comment.
Five travellers first time in Chiang Mai ”
Good value for two adults sharing a room. On our arrival, the two front office staff were very helpful and pretty. On the positive: very large rooms, showers are hot with good pressure, rooms are clean and serviced daily. On the negative: no coffee/tea provided, wifi is slow when a lot of guests are on line. Could be better hotels but you will also pay more.
Land of smiles without smiling front office personnel, personnel looked very bored, outdated hotel, extrememy poor breakfast served, ants in bathroom, only positive thing to mention about this hotel is only the relatively close locatin to center of the city.
Too old building, water for shower no pressure and hot water not consistent ”
Building should up grade
Great location for the city”
Well situated. Good size room, fridge and kettle but no cups or tea/coffee provided. Two bottles of water but not replaced on second day nor were toiletries. Breakfast OK but mostly cold. One chocolate cereal and only white bread. Bed linnen and towels clean. Older hotel in nice quieot spot but just beside the city moat. Tesco Lotus Express two doors away, motor cycle hire all around us. Overall a good stay.
Great location, but otherwise nothing special”
When we were there there was a fantastic array of street food just outside of the hotel along the street, I mean literally dozens of fantastic street food vendors would set up every evening around 5:00 and we could eat fantastic Thai food to our heart's content. But the hotel is really nothing special inside. The breakfast buffet was nice but the eggs were always pre-cooked and not heated. Ick, cold eggs? Nice and clean, but really nothing special.
Nice place good location”
Pros: very hot water, clean, good location
enjoyable stay ”
good value for money hotel, plenty to eat at breakfast.good location for getting around in or outside the city and hills, tuk tuks outside and songtheaws pass all the time.slow internet in some areas of the hotel but managed to access enough for myself. would stay again when next in chiang mai.
my stay at the Buaraya Hotel was lovely. I walked there from the van station and found it really easily. 7/11 was just up the street and as I walked I passed many food stalls and restaurants setting up for the evening so local food was really easy to get hold of. I checked in quickly and easily and was given the keys to a lovely and very spacious room. Everything was clean and neatly laid out. I have no complaints about the room or the bathroom at all. I had a full sized bath with over head shower and everything was fresh and well maintained. My twin bed room was comfortable and everything I was promised in a room was successfully delivered. Breakfast was the usual buffet of food but I was particularly impressed with their honey pancakes which were delicious. I'd happily stay here again.
Nice hotel with excellent location”
It was quite a decent hotel and it has superb location. It is near the night market and many eatery around that area. It even has a mini tesco next to it so i guess that makes it good. It's also quite clean with comfortable beds.
Good Location good Service nice stay”
Fast and easy checkin, friendly Service and clean rooms! Quiet but not far away from all the attractions! Only 15 Minutes from the airport! All the tuck tuck know this hotel and bring you back for 40-60 Bath. When you step out on the road there is coming a Taxi any minute or you can Walk many good places!
Good quality and location at a reasonable price”
very close to north gate of the old city, close to Chiangmai Mosque so there are halal foods available at the night market just one minute walk from the reception hall. Hotel staff speak very good English.
