Gorgeous location and the huts are stunning. We had a very pleasant stay and must say how good the service was from start to finish. when we return to El Nido we will definitely stay here again.
Dear Olivia, Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We will definitely pass your feedback about the service on to our staff. We hope to see you again in the not too distant future. Regards, Teresa
No wifi, good staff! Not worth the amount
Dear Ankita, Thank you for your feedback. We do acknowledge that we were awaiting a technical visit for our fibre optic wifi during your visit, however, we did provide an alternative, although slightly slow internet for our guests during this time. We will pass your compliments on to our staff. Regards, Teresa
Both myself and one of my sons slipped and fell entering the pool. The steps in the pool were very slippery. At least put a warning sign. Other than that best rest and relaxing place. I would recommend all the time.
Dear Betsy, Thank you for your review and highlighting the issue with the Grand Villa swimming pool. We have now added additional non-slip to our pool steps which should avoid this issue in future. So pleased that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us and were able to relax. Warm regards, Teresa
The location, staff and food is just amazing. This place is very good to stay. The bathrooms has it’s own unique feel of the the outdoors, lovely ambience. I had the most relaxing time here. Will definitely be back again! Thank you Buco and the management for making my stay very comfortable!

Best place near the beach”
We really enjoyed the stunning views, great drinks and foods and comfortable room. Also the staffs are so nice and friendly. There’s an adorable cat staff, we’re so lucky to meet her three times.
Dear Jessica, Thank you for your review, we are so pleased you enjoyed our rooms, restaurant and the view. I will share your comments with our team here at Buko. Warm wishes, Teresa
Fantastic in some ways and disappointing in others ”
Lovely cottages- really top class. Food and drinks were fabulous. The tours we organised with the hotel always involved extra costs- for example we had to pay a Tricycle to bring us back to the hotel after the island hopping tour they arranged (which was wayyy over the amount of any other tour) may not be the hotels fault but they need to sort out who they arranging to take their guests out. One thing that really annoys me is feeling scammed. Also the dogs around the property at night are so loud so not for the faint hearted! Having said that it really is a stunning place and the eco vibe and pride for environment is needed
Dear Sarah, Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I'll share your feedback with our team. I'm sorry that our reception staff did not explain the tours to you clearly, we do offer a range of tours through different approved operators to meet all budgets. For all group tours and some private tours the tour company pick you up from resort and transfer to El Nido pier, but the tour finishes at El Nido pier, requiring the guest to make their own way back to their resort, 100PhP per tricycle. Another additional charge for all tours is the Eco-Tourism Development Fee (ETDF) which is valid for 10 days and is a requirement for all island hopping tours 200PhP per person. During the lagoon tours there is the option to rent a kayak to go into the lagoons and this is between 300-500PhP per kayak (2 man or 3 man). Once again thank you for your review and apologies that the tour explanation was not clear. Regards, Teresa General Manager
The staff, the service, and the view is great, but you might be confused when you first got there, the road lead to the resort is bad and bumping. Also the wifi connection is only available in public area, once you got into the room it's no service. But in total, here is a great place to spend few days, friendly staff and you can ask the tour or any activities want to do at the counter. Would recommend this place to friends!
Dear Rong, Thank you so much for your feedback. We will pass on your compliments to our staff. Unfortunately the public road to our resort is not of the quality we would like for our guests as the main highway is shortly to be widened. We hope this will make access better for our future guests. We look forward to welcoming you back to Buko. Regards, Teresa General Manager
I will be back, just don’t tell anyone this exists, it will be hard to book it again
Thanks so much Dennis, We will try to keep it secret and await your return. Regards, Teresa General Manager
Bar staff were unreal made the stay very enjoyable. Had work going on when we were there so the beach veiw was obstructed. Room was ok bed a little hard and had no blanket. No tv or phone so if you needed something had to walk all the way up to reception. But other than the little things was still a enjoyable stay just a tad over priced
Great Facility in a not so Great Surrounding”
Love how beautiful this place is but you would be put off the minute you enter the place. So the first feeling you will get is - did i book the right place? If you plan to only be in this resort, you'd forget how bad the surroundings are. I particularly hate the walk from the main road to this resort especially after rain. Other than that, the staff is friendly accomodating, view is fantastic both in the morning or evening, pool is nice but breakfast and internet connectivity, can be improved. Overall had a wonderful stay regardless the little hiccups.
Staff were amazing. Close to a top end beach and the town.
Dear Ashley, Thanks for your great review. We hope to see you and Laura again. Regards from everyone here at Buko
Lovely location although a little further from El Nido centre than expected. Generally quiet and peaceful. The facilities were beautiful and well designed. Air con sometimes went off in the night due to power cuts but back up generator kicked in shortly after. Nice staff. Smoking is allowed in the bar area which is a bit off putting for non smokers trying to eat breakfast etc. I would recommend!
Not worth the money ”
I paid more to get a sea view room but ended up getting a room with no view. In the end, the staff gave us one free dish and tricycle, which still isn’t enough to compensate the difference between the standard room and the sea view room. The Filipino staff were more than helpful but I think this is a problem with the hotel policies. In the end, I feel like I got ripped off. They also don’t offer any free pick up ride. We were just transferring hotels from El Nido town and we were being charged 150 pesos for it. I mean, come on, the room costs 12k pesos. Out of the 12k pesos, they can’t even give free pickup for the guests? Location wasn’t so good. Walked for 15 minutes to go to La Plage but it was closed. Not much restaurant choices around. One time we got back and bed was all dirty because of the roof which was made of native mat’ls. I thought I could recommend the hotel to my lawyer friends but have now changed my mind. Pros: -decent WiFi by the pool -very private
Awesome Experience ”
Great owner, awesome staff, and plenty of captain Morgan! Had a great time staying at Buko Beach Resort.
A beautiful resort! But...”
This really is a beautiful resort. It seems that every little thing was thought of. The restaurant (where we had the breakfast) was great as well. Everything was great. But one thing was annoying. There are a lot of mosquitos, and the rooms aren't dealing with it well. there are many openings in the hut-like ceiling, that you can't do anything about. Also, the shower and toilet are outside (totally private and beautiful, but outside), so you're bound to have some quality time with mosquitos. Only te day after, when the air-con broke down so we couldn't sleep in our long cloths, they told us they have a mosquito net to put around the bed. Should have told that from the beginning. And secondly, The air-con broke on the second night (out of 2 nights) and they couldn't fix it (because it was too late), and they didn't even compensate us for that night. pretty annoying. But otherwise, again, a great place. Just needs to improve a little!
Very nice resort, wonderful staff
Unique cottage with a friendly staff”
Definitely my kind of resort to stay in terms of how it’s built. Very unique and authentic. They try to have everything in bamboo and wood. It’s like a hobbit house as it seems there’s no wall and just a roof, but it’s not. It’s huge for a couple. You have an outside area with hammock which is overlooking from a glass wall from room as well as seating area for two. The toilet and shower is open outside. Best is... the staff are all very friendly and helpful. They try to accommodate all your request such as having a very early breakfast. They can arrange all the tours as well as transfers. You might have an issue of not changing the towels and linen even how Long you stay, but it’s because they try to save the environment. So if you need changing, just ask and they will do. Overall, I would recommend to stay here and would love to stay there again but they only have 6 units so it’s always full.
A great stay at a great resort”
While a bit pricy, my partner and I felt that it was money well-spent. The room was lovely and well-appointed, the air-conditioning worked well, and we loved the outdoor shower. The area is quiet with a great view of the sunset from the pool and bar/restaurant. The restaurant menu was quite limited and food did take a while to be prepared, but as long as you weren't expecting Michelin-starred cuisine, you'd probably be quite happy. Their cocktails, especially the Mjango Unchained, are refreshing and fruity, perfect for sipping on while watching the sunset. The staff are friendly and always ready to help. Ask them for restaurant and bar recommendations and you won't be disappointed. We enjoyed our stay at Buko and will gladly visit again.
