This hotel clains to have a restaurant and although there is a dining room laid out with table and chairs with a placard above the door reading 'restaurant' we were told that there was no restaurant/food. This meant that two young women had to walk down a dirt road in the pitch black as there were no street lights to get food in the evening. Not safe at all. Our television was broken and even though we reported it nobody bothered to come and fix it. During our time there we did not see a single other guest however were put in a room with a view of a building site and were woken up at 7am by construction works. We decided to leave a night early as the walk for dinner was just to dangerous and not what we had agreed to pay for however the staff who spoke zero English (which is fine) refused to let us leave early and instead, put us on the phone with someone who very rudely told us we could not leave early. Whilst packing out belongings we were interrupted 3 times by the receptionist handing us a phone with another irrate man shouting at us that we couldn't leave. After all of this, the hotel had the audacity to charge both nights to our card. Do not stay here, there are nicer hotels on the river for half the price, friendlier staff (we booked our coach with them) and actually have a restaurant. Bundavong hotel has absolutely no reason for anyone to stay there.
