The hotel is in an excellent location, on a street that leads directly to West Lake on a 10 minutes walk. We were given a decent sized room which appeared to be newly renovated as everything looks and smell rather new. I have no compliants whatsoever about the room as everything about it is great especially the cleanliness. Aircon was cold enough which was a great relief from the heat and humidity of Hangzhou summer! There are many restaurants and shopping places along the road outside the hotel and there is also a subway station closer to West Lake direction. The reception staff was very friendly and she spoke English to me upon seeing that I am a foreigner. I am very satisified with this hotel and would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Would say this hotel is very good for couple. It been my first time there. Hotel are centrally located and minutes to shopping mall and eatery.

This is a wonderful hotel in a great location to easily enjoy all the wonderful scenic attractions and food. All the staff were wonderful, all helpful and patient getting out their phone translators when needed. The room was large, spacious and comfortable, soft bed!, really like a four and a half star. The breakfast was good, the best we had in our six week stay in China, and caters for all tastes. Easy walking distance to the lake and the lake front restaurants and bars and the wonderful shopping from up market malls with designer shops to markets.

The location is superb. The West Lake is only 5 mins walk. Shopping centre is only 10 mins by cab.

It will be good if we have tea and coffee every day in the room Coffee was provided only first day There was no black tea bags

I don't think my review will do Rock & Wood Cozy House justice. I had such a wonderful time staying 3 nights here. The host was extremely hospitable, friendly, and conscientious. When you first enter (and every time thereafter), you're greeted with a smile and warmness. The house is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. There is a common area where you can hang out, grab a drink, and just chat with the host or fellow guests. The breakfast is a simple, wholesome Chinese meal and you won't be left hungry. I stayed in a Mini Queen room, which is a perfect size for solo travelers and couples. The whole design of R&W is beautiful throughout the entire space. R&W is a short, beautiful walk to West Lake, and it's easy to catch a cab right down the street if you'd like to go further. It is also close to several bus stops. There are a few local eateries in the area, but it's in a quieter part of Hangzhou. If you are traveling to Hangzhou, I highly recommend a stay at Rock & Wood Cozy House.

i have been to this hotel now several times and always left with a smile. the staff is very friendly and english is no problem. i love to come back!

new, clean smallish well appointed rooms. located very close to HZ long distance bus station...we arrived late and departed very early.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. Bruce coordinated pickup at the airport, reservations for continuing travel, suggestions on sightseeing that saved us a lot of time and frustration. Bella prepares a tasty breakfast and assists with laundry. The staff is always pleasant and patient. Their Emglish is excellent Covered pieces outside each room view garden and koi pond. Arrangements for reasonable cab/van service for all day sightseeing Bruce and Bella are willing to help with any questions or problems. Location near Shuhe old town was even more enjoyable than the crowds at Lijiang.

I asked for king size bed but they gave me 2 single bed, I complained and they changed the room for me :) The cleaning lady was really really nice ^_^

In this 3-week tour I had, I travelled to china and korea. Out of seven hotels that I had stayed, I spent the longest time (5 nights) at nade. Since my choice of travel is the public transport (by the local bus, I could find a direct bus to any point I like, be it the far west to xixi wetland . All the local foods are around with variety, including staff canteen at Canhigh building. Big cinema including omni-theatre (space programme), classic theatre, 5 huge shopping towers (Hangzhou Towers)

We enjoyed very much our stay at this hotel. The location is central. The surrounding is good. The hotel is adjacent and attached to the JW Marriott. The hotel room is very big. Rom is comfortable.

This place is located near the famous lake (they have fountain performance on saturday at 7 and 8pm), near shopping areas, spacious room and bed room and even I got a free upgrade. Nice facilities and people there are so helpful

i think the staff is awesome in serving. besides, i like the ambience and decoration there.

waitress is friendly, and willing to answer our questions; this hotel is near West lake, just walking 8 minutes; and nearby you can find shoping mall which have nice chinese restaurant; also have supermarket nearby.

Great place, value for money, location is accessible. CNY 97 from XiaoShan airport CNY 12 to Hangzhou Railway Station CNY 11 to Xi Hu (was informed it's walkable abt 10-15 mins) Good for those budget travellers

we stayed 6 nights as we were competing in a tai chi competition representing australia. we booked a delux with a 30% off special and breakfast included and could not have been more impressed, with the size of the room and the standard. the breakfast area, which is on the top floor had an amazing assortment of great food, from western to eastern and everything inbetween and lots of fresh fruit and eggs cooked to order, we loved the staff ,very helpful, but the size of the room was the major plus, we had friends staying in a smaller room, who came over to ours for a movie night if you can try and book room 1168, as it is on the end corner of the building and you will be so happy, we had a three seater couch which also became a sofa bed and i could practice for my tai chi competition in the room with a friend, to give you an idea fo the size... would happily stay here again for more days..its so worth it... happy travels !
