River View Bungalows is located on the little island in the middle of Song river (behind Saysong Guesthouse but face directly with Song river & mountains). My sisters and I stayed in the Mountain River View room (Triple single bed), we can see the Song river and beautiful mountains from the windows. The room is very clean, not too small for three persons and well equ...

Great family run resort with four bungalows and fantastic views, near a small town with shops. Best place if you like fishing but kayaks are available to use free of charge. Good swimming pool, breakfast included, lunch and dinner cooked to order. All food was very good, both Lao and europian food is available. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

We spent 7 nights at the Luang Prabang Thongbay guesthouse during our wonderful family trip in Thailand and Laos. Thongbay is more than a guesthouse: being a hotel with a beautiful garden and thatched wooden bungalows, it is an oasis of kindness and relax in a romantic and quiet location along the Nam Khan river. We were in two different bungalows facing the river befo...

This place was the perfect final stop in our Laos trip, to just unwind and relax in the mountains. We were collected from our previous hotel by the host, who was very welcoming, and we were driven up to the resort on the bumpy climbing road. On arrival, unfortunately the heavens opened for unusual wet few days in the middle of the dry season, which meant we were confin...

We loved our two night stay at Mahout Lodge in a spacious deluxe cabin (aircon) overlooking the lovely Nam Khan river. We wanted a nature experience (no tv or internet) after being in Luang Prabang and wanted to stay at a Loa-owned elephant lodge. It was a perfect quiet retreat with the added bonus of being able to hang out with the nine elephants without riding them ...

I could not give more credit to myself for choosing this place! But of course all credit goes to Banana Bungalow and its staff. They don't speak much English but are very helpful and will ensure you have a comfortable stay. The rooms are basic (which was all I needed) and more importantly, clean. I noticed there were rooms that had shared bathrooms and those that were ...

Don Khon is a laid back island where we extended our stay to while away even more nights. We moved to this hotel because it had air conditioning and good wifi (for Laos). While significantly more expensive than our previous accomodation the free breakfast and feeling of security offset the difference considerably. The owner and team here are friendly and helpful. The m...

I cannot say enough good things about this resort. initially, we thought it was a little far from town and a huge portion of the path leading to the resort is still under construction so that put us off a bit. BUT I was and still am very glad that we made it there because it is sooooo worth it! it's breathtakingly beautiful. we felt relaxed almost instantly the minute...

We arrived at the location and our room was unavailable and they instantly moved us to an upgrade until ours was available the day after. although it was a bit of a pain moving again the day after it wasnt a hassle and we had a private bathroom for the day so i felt more comfortable to shower. we expected the shared bathroom to have cold water but this wasnt the case....

We stayed four nights at the Pan's Bungalow and had a really pleasant stay. Our bungalow was clean, well-furnished and air-conditioning was working perfectly. Mosquitoes net was impeccable and bed very comfortable. The strong point of this place was the balcony/terrace where we chilled in our hammock and long-chairs overlooking the Mekong river. It is a really a pea...

This accomodation was one of our favourite in 6 months in SEA. the property is located at a river where you can swim and watch the locals fish, the sounds at night are amazing and you have the impression of being in the jungle. The bungalow is basic, but clean and the bed was really comfy. The restaurant serves good food, even though a bit pricey. The Lao curry is the ...

After the long cold day riding a boat from Thai border, Mekhong Riverside Lodge is giving you something to look forward to. The room is very nice with spacious balcony where you can just sit and relax while enjoy the river view.. It is just 2-minute walk from the pier. Its restaurant serves the best indian food ever (it also has Thai and Lao food) I am not so crazy abo...

Great stay overall if you book transportation from the guest house to somewhere (we were traveling to oudomxay) you might want get quotes from several other places to compare prices. We booked a mini bus (Note that a mini bus is NOT a minivan) tour to oudomxay for 100.000 kip / person thinking it is a mini van. The only english speaking staff member was not around, a...

This was the highlight of our visit to Laos. Our only wish was that we had booked more than the two nights. My husband kept muttering "paradise" and the kids were addicted to swimming in the cascades next to the lunch hut. We had village kids come and play with them in the water. We loved watching everyone from the village come down in the late afternoon to wash and ba...

Located a bit outside noisy centre of Vieng Vang gives you perfect condition to relax. Napha villa provided tuk tuk service with centre so when ever you want you have free conection with party and shopping area. Resort is in very good condition, very friendly crew and beautifull view which you can observe soaking drink i a swimming pool. There is noise from traffic, no...

We slept here for tree nights in the cold season. The first night it was so cold, we could not sleep. The next day we asked for another blanket, after that we slept okay (the bed is hard with springs). At this moment this is the only nice place to stay in Muang Singh I think. There is a garden, the room is big and there is a restaurant with good food (especially if the...

We really enjoyed our stay at Paradise. The bungalow was spacious and comfortable. The free breakfast was amazing! Big portion of pad Thai and free bread, bowl of fruit and juice - was a great way to start the day! Don’t have many comments in terms of improvement other than our drain clogged a bit and we only had cold water in the room. They have a few dogs there which...

Excuse me for gushing, but I really enjoyed my stay at Eco Lodge. To be just a minute's walk from enjoying the river without all the tourist trappings and club music was a joy. The Lodge's restaurant looks onto the river where local people gather in low numbers, mostly in the early evening, to wash themselves, their clothes, and the kids. There is the occasional kayak....

It was a really pleasant stay at the hotel for 2 nights. Great people and great bungalow they have. The unit eas at river front and there was always a boat on standby basis to bring us across to the mainland. The breakfast time always had ample of food for us to eat. The staff was great and friendly. I will definitely go stay with them again when I visit Vang Vieng.

Khoun and Khone always get the best reviews and there is a reason for this. A stay at their guesthouse (bungalows) is not yet another stay at a guesthouse but a possibility to get a little bit closer to the family life in Laos. You will feel as taking part in the extended family but with as much privacy as you like. Khone cooks the most delicious Lao food and Khoun is ...

I wanted 10 days away from the crowds, to be in nature and have a tranquil time. This was the ideal place, next to the river with very little noise. The bungalows are simply beautiful, well-made, clean and very comfortable. I came away totally refreshed !

this was the best place I stayed on my trip to laos! It was a phenomenal room with a lovely deck and just a huge room! It's about a little bit out of town off the main road but well worth the 2-3 minute walk to stay here! It's one of those hotel rooms you just want to hang out in all day. The staff for a quiet but a tentativeI think everyone should experience this plac...

arrived there, gave the owner my voucher, he then denied having ever heard of agoda, so he went to check emails, at the end of my stay on the islands I was accosted by a few locals demanding payment for the room. which I duly paid again as I really didn't want to see what might happen if I didn't..... when I contacted agoda the owner had told them what he had charged...

Nice bungalow, quiet area with flowers and trees. Smiling polite administrator speaks good english. She will help you with bus tickets, excursions, renting motorbike, answer your questions, makes tea. Breakfast (included in price) is simple and good. Highly recommend this place!

This place -the best choice for people who like calmness and hospitality and for family with kids. Family who running this place and all staff especially girl name Tip - they are just the best . I didn't see a long time so great hostes. They are very kind, smiling all the time and try to help you with everything. Bungalows are really great , have everything you need,...

True laotian experience, we stayed 2 nights. Ideal for groups, we negotiated breakfasts and dinners by shared laotian style for flat rate. Owner, Mr. Len, runs Ethnic Travel Laos company (opposite to Dokchampa hotel in LN), so any kind of outdoor activity is available from here. We did 1 day trek through primary forest in NP with swimming in Nam Lang at the end. We ...

Beautifully located at the river with lots of green, relaxing chairs, hammocks et cetera, all facilitated with enough plugs for your electronic devices. Dorms had 2 bunk beds (4pax) with mosquito nets. Very comfortable. There were also a couple of dogs wandering around, including 2 young pups who were adored by all the guests. I think the proprietor is a Frenchman. If ...

Great place. Good reception area with plenty of space to sit. Basic but functional small kitchen area and where you cook your own free breakfast. Free coffee, tea all other times. A Microwave which is handy. Free BBQ (to be honest it’s very basic) on Friday nights and with free Lao whiskey (it’s potent as hell - you have been warned! :-). Beer and water etc is availabl...
