Geriatric backpackers ”
Booked 2 days before but no room available when we arrived. Staff were excellent and found us a room for the night. Resort had been taken over by new age hippies with children everywhere. Expecting a quiet few days but were very disappointed. Also away from the main town. Transport needed.

Do more research!”
Staff good at setting us up taxi's, free breakfast
First: this resort is in a terrible location. It's at the very top of the island, opposite of where ferries or any of the decent "action" of this island are. Also, our bungalow had an amazing "beach view" but this entire resort is actually on the wrong end of a channel that you can't physically cross, so to actually get to the beach that looked right outside our window took a 1.5 mile walk through sketchy jungle and neighborhoods. The food was undercooked and not good. The wifi worked in the dining area but wasn't strong enough to get to our nearby bungalow reliably. Very outdated style. Even doe the price you could do much better-- and by that I mean leave Koh Phangan and go to Ko Samui, much more beautiful and clean feeling!

Very poor `resort`.”
There are no good things to tell about Buritara. It`s a horrible place to stay.
We stayed here for 1 night and it was a nightmare. We had a `cottage`, but the room was smelly, moisty, funghi and old. The beds are very hard and uncomfertable. We had some strange insect bites (we think from some sort of bugs in the bed) and it was sure not from musquito`s. We had a door in our room to the room nextdoor. The door was bend and we could look in the nextdoor room and see the guests doing there things. After complaining about this they send a `engineer` ! to fix the problem. The engineer took a plank of wood and nailed it on the doorframe with 2 big nails. We still could look inside the other room. There was NO WiFi in the rooms as promissed on the site. Only in the restaurant. The garden is 1 big building sight. And it seems that it is like this for several years and the end is not in sight. There are building materials everywhere. They are building about 12 `new rooms` in the garden from second hand materials ! and they look even wurse then the `old rooms`. The water in the swimmingpool was green and we was scared to go for a swim. The beach was no beach but just a muddy and dirty sight. Breakfast (included) was very poor. You could choose from 4 things and that was it. You get 1 egg per person.

A big disaster”
There were no best things
Terrible, the whole place was a mis- adventure in how not to run a hotel. The swimming pool had to be cleaned for 24 hours before it could be used. Chickens wandered around the grounds and woke you every morning at 6 am. Fishing boats pass by behind the rooms at all hours with their noisy engines. There was building work going on in the grounds. The whole place smelt of chicken and fish.

Nice view and friendliest staff we encountered ”
Pool and the view
We were a bit worried about what we had booked after reading some of the negative reviews. But in all had a good stay here. Staff was the friendliest we had encountered so far. We were upgraded to the Thai House without asking. Pool was very nice. Food is average. But free breakfast was good. All their eggs are laid fresh on site. Only complaint was the bed. Could be replaced.

Friendly Staff but no beach.”
Nice clean pool and very quiet.
Staff friendly and polite. The pool was always clean. Restaurant food was very good. Rooms were basic. It is located beside a canal where the fishing boats pass by which can be noisy in the morning. The beach is dirty and very small, however the pool makes up for it.

Mismarketed. Not ****, not a resort, not a spa.”
Beautiful looking resort. Nice a quiet. Food is good.
No Bar, no phones in room, staff don't speak english, bathrooms are fairly poor, rooms not as clean as I like.
I booked this hotel expecting a **** resort and spa. While the hotel might look like a resort, it certainly wasn't. When we arrived, none of the staff could speak english. I had booked two rooms, but only one had been reserved. They then tried to put me in the wrong sort of room. Twice. All of the fixtures in the rooms were unplugged. There was nothing in the fridge (also unplugged), which was advertised as being a mini-bar and also containing complementary water. The kitchen also closed really early - by 7:30 there were no staff at all in the resort and, being one of only four young girls staying there, it was kind of spooky. We also had no food or water. There are no spa facilities in the hotel, but they can get someone in to do massages in the rooms. You will need to enquire about this though. There are no phones in the room, even though the brochure for the hotel boasts room service. The private beach was also covered in rubbish, and the matress in my room was broken. The staff were really friendly though, even though it was near impossibly to communicate with them. The second day we were there, the manager arrived from Bangkok and she speaks very good english. I told her all of my concerns (many of which I've listed above), and she fixed as many as she could for me. She did everything she could to turn our experience around, including driving us all to the full moon party and back for no charge and arranging a day spa for us at a different resort and transport to and from the day spa. The staff also stayed later after the manager had arrived.

Buritara resort”
Inexpensive, very nice exterior, nice rooms
Cleanliness not perfect, some distance from nearest town and restaurants
We spent 2 days of our honeymoon at Buritara resort, and we were overall quite happy with the hotel. We stayed in a seafront villa, which was really inexpensive compared to most other hotels. The first impression was not the best, since the staff did not understand english very well, and there was no restaurant at the hotel. But the manager drove us to the nearby town on his old motorbike, which has restaurants and you can rent motorbikes. The hotel exterior is beautiful and the rooms are nice. However, the drain in the bathroom was partially clogged, so there was some water on the floor when we used the sink. Not a huge problem, but sets back the overall impression a bit.

friendly staff, upgraded room
little dirty
we really enjoyed our stay here, we were upgraded by the very friendly staff. The pool was lovely. This area is still used by local fisherman so the beach isnt too flash but very interesting. Away from the crowds, this area really appealed to us and the breakfast was fantastic. Very romantic surrounds and the gardens were beautiful.

Buritara Resort”
Quiet peaceful area
No formal restaurant/cooking-reception staff doubled up as chefs-took ketchep from our table to put in food made in kitchen. No safe in room food was poor-veggies burger was 2 buns with sald inside-no actual burger!!!
We stayed here for one night while on Ko Phanang for the full moon party. We wanted somewhere as a drop off point to leave our stuff safely for the night and to return to after the party for a rejuvenating sleep. Unfortunately the rooms lacked safes. The bathrooms weren't up to scratch from a cleanliness aspect-ants in the shower. We were upgraded to a villa on arrival-which essentially was a self contained room with it's own deck outside-small however-dread the thought of what size our original room was. The ppol area was very quiet and peaceful in a lovely setting. The hotel's location was a little awkward-no shops/bars in walking distance.

NOT RECOMMENDED”
the new rooms are OKAY.
the a/c makes noises you'd expect at a rock concert (everything shakes...), it is FAR away from everything, you can't pay by visa card, transportation to full moon is 200 baht (4 euro), breakfast is beyond crap, next town is a 15 minutes walk and there is not a single light on the way...not funny and last but not least the price is an insult to every civilised person in the northern hemisphere!
just save for money, i'd rather recommend Neptune in haad rin. this place is just an insult... no way i'd recommend it to anyone! I would rather sleep under a bridge! this place is the crapiest i've ever been to and i've been to a lot of crapy places around the globe.
