Nice & Modern”
Make sure you write the hotel address in chinese to show it to your taxi driver, or just say before South Pacific Hotel (南洋酒店). My taxi stopped on the opposite side of road (beside the Zodiac lighting shop), just cross the road and walk some 50m. Check-in was not quick but they made up by offering upgrade to deluxe room on top floors which was very nice. The reception staff were friendly too. The deluxe room is a half oval shape in plan, offers floor to ceiling windows with view of Hong Kong skyscraper and mountain background. Room amenities are excellent, with coffee and tea making facility, sophisticated minimalist alarm clock, electronic safety box, mini fridge, auto-light wardrobe closet, and beautiful modern light switch. The bathroom has two doors on each end, which is all glass door (frosted glass in the middle and transparent glass framing) with no locks whatsoever. Personally I like the settings, with two lights setting (bright or dim). The bathroom amenities are standard, but I found the body lotion was less than half empty, but it was minor details, as I always have my own bathroom kit when traveling. The bed was comfortable, the only complaint was the air-conditioner positions which is right on the center of room indented ceiling, and blows directly to the bed. The lowest setting of the AC is still quite strong, just set it not too cool. Going from the hotel to Times Square is easy, just head right of out the hotel, take a right turn into Sharp St. (where the south pacific hotel located), then turn left to Bowrington Rd. which is a market during the day. Then turn right again and cross the road/flyover and you're there. Actually the Causeway Bay MTR exit at Times Square is quite far from the platform itself, but you can enjoy the walk underground as it is packed with shops and eateries. If you use the tram (from Wanchai or Causeway Bay) you can stop at the flyover intersection (Canal Rd) with Hennessy Rd (the tram route) and head to the Bowrington
Good location and excellent service”
This hotel has good location in Causeway bay, which is one of the shopping centers in Hong Kong (with a lot of the big international stores). The downside of the location is that it requires a bit of walking from the hotel to the platform of the MTR (the walk from hotel to MTR station is not that long, but from the station to the platform itself is quite some distance) But we were most impressed with this hotel because of its excellent service. We arrived at the hotel at 11 am, and we were immediately allowed to have the room which was ready and fixed (other hotels are usually stict with its 2pm check-in time). The staff were also very helpful and friendly. And we found the room very clean, and in excellent condition (e.g. furniture, bed sheets carpet all seemed tidy/clean and relatively new) The room also has an excellent view of the Happy Valley. Overall it is an excellent hotel for its price, and I will definitely come back to this hotel.
Great location, cute boutique hotel”
Great location to Causeway Bay shopping districts and just around the corner from Times Square. Have stayed here five times and have no complaints. Reasonable pricing for what you get. It's one of the cheaper boutique hotels in Hong Kong. I usually book it when I see a deal on Agoda (usually when there's only a few rooms left). There are many restaurants around the area and everything is within walking distance including the MTR. The hotel is fairly new and it's clean. Rooms are not huge, but are generally bigger than a lot of the hotels at this price range. Great for a short stay.
Great location but small room”
the location of the hotel was convenient, close to mrt, sogo and time square, with heaps of restaurants around. although the room was small as expected in hk, it was very well-designed. i stayed at the 18th floor, but there was no much view out there, all blocked by the buildings around. the only thing was that i booked for a superior room and i arrived at around 2pm, but i was told that the room was still not available. the hotel staff suggested me taking an upgrade to the deluxe room (cost me per night) otherwise i would have to wait for another 40mins to an hour! i still had plans with friends on that day, so couldn't wait and paid for the upgrade. considering the checkout time being 12pm as most other hotels in asia, i simply cannot figure out why the room wasn't ready at 2pm! was this a way to trick me to get an upgrade? i took the airport express (hkone-way) to the hong kong station and realised that there was no shuttle bus to the hotel, therefore had to call a taxi (cost me ). instead, you can take mtr to causeway bay and walk to the hotel (about 10 to 15 mins) - probably not the best way for travelers with luggages tho!
Perfect”
I am writing this review otw to airport with taxi they helped ordered, after checking out minutes ago. The stay was so pleasant for our family of 4 (2 small kids) Checked in was easy, guidances were given on point, room is surprisingly big enough for 4 of us. A nice touch was given welcoming our kids. The room view was nice. Most importantly the staffs were very friendly. We couldn't single out names as ALL of them were very helpful from we reached until we left. Main reason we picked this hotel was the location is walkable distance from Islamic Center where we go for food. Causeway Bay MTR was 10-15 mins walk. Definitely will recommend Butterfly on Morisson to our relatives and be back oursleves for sure next visit to Hong Kong.
Thank you for such wonderful comments. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed our services so much. A nice boutique hotel!”
utterfly on Morrison is a very nice boutique hotel. We've been to HongKong several times but this is the first time that we stayed in the HongKong island part. We usually stay in Kowloon The hotel is very modern with only 4 rooms per floor. We booked the Deluxe City View room but got upgraded to the next level room (I think it's their Business Class room - not too sure on this since it's not in the website) at the 23rd Floor. It's a corner room so we were able to get two floor-to-ceiling glass walls with a view. We booked through Agoda and confirmed the booking by calling before we arrived. I asked the front desk to give us a very nice room. Choose corner rooms for better views. The room is not that big but it's pretty okay for Hong Kong standards. The bathroom is really nice and very big (again for HongKong standards). They also have a separate shower area with a very very good flow of water. Towels are changed everyday if requested. The service is really good and they act really fast. We asked for utensils and plug converters and they were very quick to respond and reply. Housekeeping is also constant and consistent every morning. They also give daily complimentary bottles of water. The location of the hotel is very accessible to public transport. The tram station is a 2-minute walk while the MTR Causeway Bay is a 9-minute walk. We often use the Times Square exit as an entry/exit point. The hotel is just a 9-12 minute walk from Apple Store Causeway Bay, Times Square, Sogo, Hysan Place, and Ikea. The hotel is Wanchai Area but is very near the boundary of Causeway Bay. One of the best things about the hotel is its proximity to DimDim Sum - one of the best dimsum places in Hong Kong. It's just a 2-minute walk from the hotel. We got to try it twice in our stay.
Metro Hong Kong”
We found Butterfly in Morrison thru the Internet. Booking the hotel was not a problem since you get the confirmation right away. Pricing was absolutely justifiable since it is literally within walking distance from one of the biggest malls in Hong Kong - Times Square. We even went back to the hotel just to drop-off all the things we bought and be able to go back shopping again. Transportation was not a problem since it was so close to the Causeway Bay Station. I would stay in the same hotel if ever I visit Hong Kong again.
Lovely boutique hotel with lovely service”
butterfly on morrison would certainly be a place that i would be goin back to the next time i visit hong kong. it's a really cosy hotel which makes you feel relaxed the moment you enter the lobby. the rooms here are small but no complains though. the beds are comfortable and if u're lucky/if you request, you can even can a room overlooking the race course in happy valley. location was brilliant as you can find every possible public transport over here. taxis, causeway bay mtr is juz walking distance, and the trams are also juz down the road. the trams go to all important points in the city and it is a cheaper option compared to the mtr. there is also a dessert shop around there called chung kee whose desserts are quite good. the rooms are quiet and peaceful which ensures that you get a good nights rest before goin out again the next day. times square is also nearby and there is another restaurant by the name of tai ping koon which serves really good food (swiss chicken wings). without a doubt, i'm certainly goin back there to stay.
Great Location”
They have an airport shuttle straight to the hotel ($150HK pp) but catch a cab if there's 2/+ people it's $300HK too. There's no official drop-off zone, so if you're travelling via MTR it's probably best to get off at Hong Kong Station and catch a cab from there. It's about 200m walk from the corner to the hotel. We stayed in the DELUXE CITY VIEW ROOM (highly recommend if you decide to stay here) - modern design and big windows but not much of a view despite us being on the 19th level (Only about 25 levels). we faced a run-down apartment but the bed faces the other way so once your in bed you don't see it. We had a 7 night stay and wanted the room cleaned on the third night but noticed on the fourth night our bed sheets were not changed but rather just flipped over (I knew this because there was a small stain on top of the quilt cover and found the same stain on the under-side. The bed was also very itchy - I found numerous bug bites/raised itches on me during the night, I tried to look for bugs but couldn't find any visible to the eye - so I'm not sure what was going on there (perhaps bugs were very small or sheets weren't cleaned properly). I feel perhaps the cleaning staff were not as reliable - not fair for a hotel that has won many awards. Bathroom was very clean and towels were clean - no problems there. Great location - try to get your bearings quickly as you soon discover the area is buzzing with fabulous food and shopping. Causeway Bay has many great restaurants and shops that stay open till about 11pm so it's great to hang around the area once you've had a big day out and still need a HK fix! Only a 5-10 minute walk to Times Square (Shopping) and Hysan Place (great food) and the MTR station. I don't regret staying here because of location but I'll probably try somewhere else around the Causeway district or even TST/Kowloon next time I come to HK for a better night's sleep.
Beautiful view with excellent service”
The room was extremely clean and the customer service there was excellent and always entertained all my queries and requests promptly. The room view is very beautiful, which faces the hong kong city. I feel that the hong kong city is in front of me ! There are wifi service and air-cond temperature is adjustable. It makes myself very comfortable to the environment and access to internet for works and entertainment. The location is very good as its at the central of causeway bay. I have no significant negative point for the hotel and room I stayed.
This hotel is the best choice to stay in hong kong”
Butterfly on morrison Hotel is band new hotel in causeway bay area. The hotel is look nice with new and hight quality of furniture. In deluxe rooms have Safe boox, LCD TV, I-pod stand, Refix, DVD pleyer in every room. If you want to use internet you can use at level 3 (lobby) it's avaiable 24 hrs. I very recomment you to select this hotel if you want to stay in hong kong island. not expensive, I can say that this hotel is the best 3 star in causeway bay.
Value for money and with friendly staff”
we loved the convenient location, just a short walk from times square, the shops around it, a market place, and the causeway bay mtr station. rooms are small but that's typical in hong kong. the room we stayed in was clean and efficiently laid out with a good view of happy valley. concierges were very friendly, helpful and easy to understand. any requests from housekeeping are promptly accommodated. bathroom was clean and looks new. shower ad faucet with heated water. only negative was that the hotel doesn't offer buffet breakfast as their cafe is quite small.
Nice and good location”
got a nice deluxe room with an upgrade. i like to take trams so it is good there was a tram station nearby. just next to the causeway bay area with lots of eateries and shops. on the last day, i found out that there was a bus that cross from hong kong island to kowloon. it goes directly to the hong hum train station. there is no way to allow for taxi to stop, so you have to say that it is near the south pacific hotel, where you can stop. there is a local market nearby if you want to buy some fruits. it has free lan broadband internet access, but only wireless in the lobby.
Beautiful interior and a convenient location”
When I first arrived, Hong Kong was experiencing great winds and the typhoon signal was up. We asked the hotel staff for advice on safety, and whether it is alright to go out. The hotel staff were friendly and informed us of a HK cafe opposite it, where we managed to grab a bite. Despite it's narrow corridors and less spatial rooms, the hotel managed to give a new, modern and creative look. As the hotel is quite new, it had bathrooms with glass doors, designed perfectly for couple on a honeymoon. The location was excellent as it was around 5 minutes walk to the Times Square at Causeway Bay, which is where the MTR is situated. Being next to the wet market, we also managed to get a glimpse of the local market buzz in the mornings. It is definitely value for money. However, the hotel might want to keep up with its maintenance, and might want to consider providing free wifi to all rooms.
Very nice location hotel”
The hotel is nicely located in the shopping area of Causeway Bay. You can even take a leisure walk to the Wan Chai area for bars and entertainment. There is plenty of shopping in Causeway Bay. But if you would prefer to go to the Central area, the best and most economically way is to take the tram cars which run along the main street almost every minute. I would definitely stay at this hotel again on my next visit to Hong Kong.
Good place to stay during short stopover in HKG”
In this hotel, we stopped for the second time during the two-day stay in Hong Kong. Located a few minutes walk from the Causeway Bay subway station Butterfly on Morrison hotel allows you to explore the city. Rooms on lower floors are pretty loud, so it's better to make a reservation on the upper floors, which are slightly more expensive. Comfortable beds, clean bathroom, friendly staff at reception.
Great location but small rooms, yet clean”
We were staying at the Butterfly just as a transit since the next day we were going to Guangzhou for a business trip. Overall this is a very great hotel location-wise since it's close to the 'heart' of Causeway Bay (Times Square, Sogo shopping centre). Regarding cleanliness, I've always been a critic of Hong Kong hotels since the majority of them are not really that clean but the room I was staying in in this hotel was beyond my expectations. Kudos to the housekeepers. All in all, a good experience, though a short one. Looking forward to staying at this hotel again
As usual, still a lovely Hotel”
We have stayed at this Hoptel many times in the past and still believe it to be one of the best in Hong Kong. It is not exppensive, the rooms are perfectly adequate for a business traveller with free internet access and a desk in the room and it is very close the the Causeway Bay MTR station, making transport around Hong Kong very easy. It is not commonly known by taxi drivers so it is best to ask drivers to drop you off at the South Pacific Hotel which is very well known and is next door to the Butterfly.
Clean and modern hotel with free loaner phone to use during your stay in Hong Kong”
Nice modern and clean hotel. Short walk to the Causeway Bay MTR station. The staff were very cheerful and helpful. The loaner phone included in the room was a great plus. It allowed us to stay connected and search for areas of interest while we were out and about. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would consider staying here the next time I'm in Hong Kong.
A place to be”
its the second time i'm staying in this hotel and as usual i enjoyed the stay. the location is very near all the shooping area in causeway bay especially times square. rooms are clean and modern design unlike the traditional hotels. value for money, defintely recommend to everyone who is visiting hong kong. not all staff are as friendly though.
