Great Location in a comfortable hotel in Hong Kong”

We stayed in the Butterfly on Wellington for one night to break the journey from Melbourne to Paris. On our previous visit to Hong Kong we stayed on the Kowloon side at Mongkok, so we picked the Butterfly on Wellington because of its location on the Hong Kong side, and good reviews on TA. The location is excellent. It is easy to get to and from the Hong Kong Airport Express Station by taxi or walking. We went taxi to the hotel for a cost of 40HKD, but walked back the next day with our cases without any problems. The hotel is within 100 metres of the Mid-Levels escalators. The check-in process was smooth, and we were given an upgrade from an Executive room to a Butterfly Suite on the 2nd floor. Although close to street level, it was quiet and we heard no street noise in the morning. The room was large (it was a suite) and very comfortable. We were allowed to have a late checkout until 2pm, and then the hotel stored our luggage until we were ready to take it to the station in the evening. Both the reception and door staff were friendly and efficient. The Butterfly on Wellington is definitely value for money if you want a comfortable room in a great location without paying for all the other 5 star items you might not use, e.g. gym, pool, lobby, bar, etc. There were many restaurants around, so breakfast was not an issue. We would definitely stay at the Butterfly on Wellington the next time we pass through Hong Kong.

perfect hotel to unwind”

this is the perfect place to unwind in hong kong. i have heard about the butterfly properties only recently and decided to check out the central location. wellington street has always been one of my favorite little road in the busy central district with its small boutique shops, markets, restaurants. butterfly on wellington has a great location as it is close to the business offices in central as well as the nightspots of lan kwai fong. the rooms are well appointed, spacious and maintained like the best hotels in hong kong. although the rates were kind of high and it was quite a walk to the closest mtr station, it was one experience everyone should have when the need to get away from the hassles of city life arises.

Lovely boutique hotel in the perfect location ”

This is our second time to stay at the Butterfly on Wellington & it keeps getting better. It's a boutique hotel so expect small rooms, however our Deluxe Room was spacious enough for our 2 big luggage with enough room for a corner table which we used as our breakfast nook. Location is hands down one of the best in Central Hong Kong. Authentic HK food along the street some of which are opened till late; quick 5 minute walk to Queens Road Central for some shopping & access to the MTR. Free Wifi is also such a great service provided by the hotel. Staff are friendly & quite efficient.

Great location and clean hotel”

The room was a little smaller than expected but still manageable for a couple in Hong Kong. This is one of three locations and I have stayed in two now (the other one being on Prat in Kowloon) and both have smallish rooms compared to other hotels I've stayed in Hong Kong. However, the location of Butterfly on Wellington is excellent. It's just off Shelley street (the escalator street) in Soho and only 5 minute walk to Central and Hong Kong Stations so getting to and from the airport as well as other places around the city was really easy. The bathroom was good size but privacy is a little low. There are two sliding glass doors that don't completely close that make up two of the walls for the bathroom. One door is on one wall and the other on the adjacent wall so when the doors are closed they form the final "corner" of the bathroom. The doors have about a 2 or 3" gap after being closed. And they are glass with only a little bit of sandblasting to make certain areas transparent. I've been with my girlfriend a number of years and we still like to have a little more privacy than that when using the toilet. All was forgiven, though, considering how easy it is to get to and from the hotel and the value of the surrounding location.

Among the nicest hotel rooms I have seen”

We had a two night stay at the Butterfly Hotel and have nothing but positive things to say. The room was pf good size even by American standards but for a hotel in Asia - especially Hong Kong - it was enormous. The bathroom was incredible: glass doors for the shower, nice graphite colored tiles, a shower head that rained down on your from the ceiling as well as a hand held option. The room had a sizable flatscreen TV, surround sound, internet, refridgerator, lots of closet space and even a living room area with a small couch. I would be proud to have such a room in my own home. For the price we paid I felt like we got double our money's worth. Looking at the floor plan not all the rooms in the hotel are the same size - we were lucky to get one of the larger rooms - though I suspect even the smaller rooms are equally as luxurious. You can defintely tell you are staying in a brand now hotel. All the fixtures are of top quality. The location was great for us. We were traveling to Hong Kong purely as tourist but I believe it would be ideal for a business traveler as well. We were in the heart of the Financial District and also close to the bars and restaurants in Lan Kwai Fong / Central. The staff was also courteous, friendly, and very helpful. I would give this hotel 10 out of 10 and without a doubt would stay there again. Without a doubt we got our money's worth. Given the size and quality of our room it would have been worth twice what we paid.

Exceptional!”

e've been to Hong Kong quite often in recent years and have always stayed in one of the international hotel chains. This year we discovered the Butterfly-houses and were quite impressed. Great locations, great rooms and for Hong Kong very reasonably priced. The concept of this chain as I see it is to limit themselves to the basic need of travellers which is a clean and comfortable room in central locations. There is not really a need for extra stuff like a fancy hotel-restaurant, a pool or a sophisticated Business Center for many travellers. And I guess that's how they maintain their good prices. We will definitely stay there again.

Fantastic location”

Butterfly on Wellington in 122 Wellington street, Central/SeungWan. Generally nice 9 / 10points I often visit HK for a business around 4 to 5 times a year. So, i try to stay differnt Hotel each times. After select this hotel, then i found several comment for this hotel, it wass terrible and unfortunately I dont have time to change the schedule. But this HTL is very nice than any other hotel before. I stayed Superior room #305. 1. Room is very clean : 10/10 2. Toilet/Showerbooth : 9/10 Dont have bathtub but enough for me.Door is little inconvienience. If you are two, dont recomment. 3. Soundproof : If your neighbor is noisy, you may have trouble. But very good for soundproof for outside. Fortunately i am okay except the flushing sound of beside room. 4. Dont have any mill service or owned restaurant, but dont worry! there are a lot of restaurant nearby. Only 3min on foot, casual restaurant from early morning to over midnight. 5min to Lan Quai Phong club. 5min to SOHO bar street. 10min to IFT tower. 5. The Main gate is little difficult to find. And this building just across the street market such as flowers, fruits an vesitables. little dirty after close those market at night before opening in morning. 6. No view. But can visit the Peak or IFC tower or else in central area.

Great hotel in a great location”

We live in southern China and visit Hong Kong every month or so and will continue to stay at Butterfly on Wellington for future visits now that we have discovered it. We arrived late and actually received an upgrade to a suite that was very spacious and nice. The staff was very helpful and there was free wireless internet in the lobby (wired in the room). The location cannot be beat for the price. There are several great restaurants and convenience stores in short walking distance. It is about a 5-10 minute walk from Central station, depending on time of the day. I would highly recommend this hotel.

My new favorite hotel in Central”

It was my first time to stay in Butterfly In Wellington and it did not disappoint! We were in the middle of everthing! Michelin rated restaurants are just a 3-8 minute walk away from the hotel. Lai Kwan Fong, just a 10-minute walk! This hotel is situated in between 2 MTRs (Central and Sheung Wan, each 7 mins away) so going around Hong Kong won’t be a problem. The check in procedure was swift and they can give you an option if you want to use the wifi mobile device for free! Room was always clean when we got back after a long and tiring day. We stayed at a room with 2 queen beds and it was big enough for a family of 3-4. They don’t serve breakfast here but there’s a bakery in front of it and a coffee shop as well. We will definitely stay here again!

Great Location Boutique Hotel”

This is the second stay at the Butterfly on Wellington. We returned after 22 months. Nice and clean good size rooms. Can't find a fault. Wifi in rooms free good a/c and sat Tv. About 10 minute walk from the airprot express central station. Easy walk (20 minutes)to the HBSC building for view (free) 43 floor of the harbour. Hong Kong Park just little past the HBSC building. As most are aware HK hotels can be expensive and the Butterfly does not come cheap but we feel it was excellent value.

Great Location”

Not only is this hotel located in a great area, but the size of the superior room is perfect for 2 people. It is located only one block away from the Central Escalator and a 5-10 minute walk to LKF and Soho. Hotel rooms in Hong Kong that I've stayed at before are teeny tiny, but the superior room at the Butterfly is comfortable enough for a couple. I stayed here again a few weeks later and will continue to be my first choice hotel every time I go to Hong Kong.

Classy, clean and comfortable room”

We had an enjoyable 3 nights stay. I like the Chinese antique furniture – modern amenities with a good blend of traditional design. We love the big bed with comfortable pillows, everything smell good! Good location with lots of eateries and close to MTR stations – Central, Hong Kong and Sheung Wan. For travel to Macau, the Hong Kong ferry terminal is nearby – from Hotel turn left, walk down hill along Wellington Street to Bonham Strand, then turn right to Hillier Street, go underground via Sheung Wan MTR entrance/exit A2 and get out at entrance/exit D.

Upon checking in, the reception staff will immediately make you feel welcome and attend to your booking instantaneously. Every time we visit Hong Kong, butterfly on Wellington is the first hotel that comes to mind.

Great Location, affordable and clean”

The staff are extremely professional. The rooms are VERY clean. The location is absolutely perfect. This hotel is walking distance to some of the best bars and Michelin starred restaurants in Central, HK. It is only 1 block away from the sky bridge which will lead to everywhere in Central without crossing the street. I will highly recommend this Boutique Hotel! I traveled during Chinese New Year, the hotel provided proper advisory to all their guest in regards to traffic closure and new year festivities. FANTASTIC! I will definitely stay here again when I travel to Hong Kong.

Great hotel, Great location, Reasonable price”

All decent hotels with a decent location in Hong Kong Island are very expensive. I'm a budget no fuss traveler. For the price of this hotel I expected much, much less and was pleasantly surprised. Quick check-in, check-out. They let me check in very early with no trouble. Nice, clean, well appointed. Great room, really nice. Fast wireless internet. And the best of all, location, location, location. Five minutes to Central Station, lots of places to eat nearby, street market right outside during the day, walking distance to all the relevant sites in Central Hong Kong.

Central,Comfortable,Convenient,Courteous,Capacious”

I like to stay in this hotel because of its convenient location in Central Business District. The rooms are well appointed and the corner suites are a good size. The rooms are always clean and the beds and pillows very comfortable. The High Speed Internet functions efficiently and a fixed converter plug is a nice touch.The staff are attentive and courteous. Check in and out is very quick and English comprehension a high standard. I would and have recommended this hotel for a pleasant short or long term stay in Hong Kong. I always return to a Restaurant that exceeds my expectations and I place Butterfly on Wellington in that category.

Staff are all terrific”

We were in Hong Kong for one night and found the Butterfly Wellington the perfect place to stay. The room was small and the bathroom doesn’t offer as much privacy as western bathrooms but the room was immaculate, well designed and very comfortable. Better then the room, the staff was welcoming and incredibly helpful. Would absolutely stay at the Butterfly Wellington again.

Perfect location in Central Hong Kong”

it was my first time to hong kong and i had to visit one customer, so i stayed only 1 night. from hong kong airport, i took the airport express at hkd 100 to central hong kong. after got off, i found it was very near to this hotel to just simply walk within 10 minutes. the hotel locates in a very small road near by the queen's road. outside look normal, but inside the decoration is superb in asian style. the room has everything i need, including free internet access via lan cable, which was provided for free. there is also the vault where you can put your valuable belongings. access in the elevator has to use room key card to touch to be able to access your room's level. the next morning i had to walk to my customer's building on queen's road, which was very near. also, there are many kind of stores, and restaurants.

Best location in Central”

Butterfly in Wellington has the best location in Central Hong Kong for business purposes. It's not too far from Central Station and there are a lot of restos and street shops around. I would definitely go back to this place if I come back in Hong Kong

No-frills hotel in superb location”

The location is great. It is right in the thick of the action. Bustling bars, restaurants and markets are all around it but you can walk (with a rolling suitcase) quite easily to or from Central and Hong Kong stations in 10 minutes or so. Our room on 18th floor had a nice view of the ICF tower. There is no bar or restaurant but you don't need them in this area. Staff were friendly and efficient in the brief dealings we had with them. The room itself was spotlessly clean, plenty large enough. The bed was very comfortable. Air conditioning worked well. Great shower. The only suggestion for improvement is that you need to move the bedside tables and start unplugging bedside lights or clocks if you want to charge your phone up next to the bed. Every hotel at this level should have easily accessible, free sockets next to each side of the bed. We loved the Huawei portable modem that gave us a wifi signal on the move. It worked well. Great idea!
