Located in the heart of Anjuna within walking distance to several famous beach clubs, Casa Anjuna offers a stunningly sublime experience for travelers who seek tranquil escape. It's not far off the beaten track (though it can feel that way at times) in a prime location close to both the Anjuna and Vagator areas. Casa Anjuna is a tastefully renovated 350 year-old Portuguese colonial estate outfitted with all the modern amenities needed for the unique experience it offers. Guests are left entranced by the lingering memories of a bygone era or by the serenity of the lush garden filled with the calls of exotic birds and animals. The rooms are replete with antique furniture, and the beds are very comfortable. Any of the three penthouse luxury suites come highly recommended for their spacious and stylish interiors. In the high season, the penthouse suites might be costly for some budget-minded travelers. In that case, there are many other affordable and appealing rooms to choose from.
Beautiful boutique hotel in anjuna”
The decor was amazing!! Very pretty hotel but facilities wise needs improvement...as it was in quite a hidden location what would have been nice was some sort of shuttle service out to the beach or eating places... being secluded with not much street lights we were quite afraid to walk out for dinner and when we wanted to order something in around 9.30 pm we were told that the kitchen closes at 9.30. Not much flexibility... a few tweaks in the service would definitely make this place more desirable
Staff is very attentive. The house is lovely and the pool is a real highlight. The facilities and amenities are of high standard. The house is a bit dated but this is absolutely not an issue and part of the charm/ feel of the house. Enjoy it!
Good location, not great place”
Overall this is a a charming old (emphasis on old) place that is tastefully decorated but there were multiple issues that made our stay not so great. Pros: good location within walking distance of many restaurants and bars, great pool/pool area, large rooms and bathrooms, cute outdoor patio. Cons: could never find the staff, reception was always empty with no way to call anyone (mb this was because we were there during Diwali but regardless the level of service was not great), broken AC which they never fixed (it was awful humid and very hot with just the fans running), bugs everywhere (if you stay on the first floor the doors have giant holes at the bottom and at night the room gets invaded with all kinds of bugs, mosquitos, even found a huge beetle in our bed), sheets and pillow smelled mildewed and moldy since there is no AC and not great circulation which was very unpleasant to say the least, the curtains were covered in cobwebs and were a cemetery of dead bugs.
Beautiful place, well maintained. Basic breakfast. Be prepared for mosquitoes though.
Excellent hotel, highly recommended”
Excellent hotel with amazing set of people taking care of the guests.
Great value, clean rooms”
Very friendly staff, beautiful place
Amazing facility, amiable staff”
A portuegese property well kept, full of great hues. Very refreshing experience
Lovely staff , great location ,a lil overpriced ”
Stayed at the luxury casa on top .. amazing spacious room with 2 beautiful balconies. You should call the property and get clarity on the different rooms they have as agoda and the casa have different ideas of what these rooms are. Sameer at the reception was extremely helpful and along with the efficient kitchen staff ,made our stay comfortable. Very few facilities at the casa , apart from a nice pool. Wifi connectivity is ok,not great. All in all felt the price is a little on the higher side despite the nice central location, very close to starco.
Beautiful oasis in Anjuna”
My friend and I booked casa anjuna very last minute and quite late in the day. Welcomed in, showed to our beautiful room and settled, we didn't actually leave the hotel much until we had to move on! The pool is a dream as are the friendly and helpful staff. It's understated old school Goa, highly recommended!!
Not a hotel”
They do not have the facilities of a hotel, dirty rooms, unkept, Not worth the money paid
Gorgeous heritage hotel”
Casa Anjuna, in quieter , leafier Anjuna, North Goa, is a converted Portuguese mansion, packed with character and charm. It is open and full of gorgeous spots to sit, making it ideal in the rainy season for sitting and drinking marsala chai or a gin and tonic and watching rain fall on the lush garden setting. Most rooms feature four poster beds and antique furniture and many have sit outs and balconies. There are so many lovely rooms, it's hard to pick and even the base level rooms are a great choice. Staff are friendly and immensely helpful, there's a lovely pool, the restaurant offers a range of good choices and room prices start at $108 in the low season. While most of the rooms at Casa Anjuna's are lovely to stay in, one of the villa's best features is all the shared spaces. The garden setting restaurant at Casa Anjuna serves meals, snacks and drinks throughout the day (very handy if it's rainy). The room tariff includes a generous breakfast with both western and delicious Indian options. The lunch and dinner offer a range of classic Goan dishes and are a good option if you want to eat in. Casa Anjuna offers four types of rooms, each one with it's own charm. My favourites were the Luxury Rooms (Casa Favourites) Rooms 1&2, on the ground floor of A Block as they have the lovely verandahs overlooking the front garden and are close to the shared areas. (But they would lack privacy in the busy season). Room 4 on the ground floor near the restaurant in A block is nice in very low season if it's quiet (but otherwise would be very public).
I was treated like a maharadja...”
A great experience.
Charming hotel but somewhat overpriced”
Casa Anjuna was lovely! Nice grounds, unique decor, spacious rooms, great air con...the only thing I'd say is that I felt it was overpriced for what it was. No spa (in an area known for spa treatments), minimal restaurant, 20 minute walk to the beach, and my bathroom needed a serious overhaul. If they priced it more appropriately (or it was the same property, but right on the beach) this would be the perfect place for a few quiet days at the beach!
7 days in off season ”
for 7 great days we were almost the only guests in late off season. all friendly staff caring only for us :) hotel was getting prepared for season, but this did not bother us, we enjoyed the lovely tropical garden and the open space of the hotel. Note: ( not hotel ! ) Anjuna market was still closed as of off season, but there are local shops around and lots of restaurants in walking distance
Nice quaint hotel in a good location!”
Had a nice time on a 2 day visit - the manager, was friendly and helpful..most guests are elderly Russians and that contributes to the peaceful quiet of the hotel, though it is very close to the nightlife of Anjuna..only negative is the lack of room service..will definitely revisit
Beautiful place and very friendly & helpful staff”
I stayed during the beginning of monsoon so I was the only person there. The staff were great and the hotel really nice. I love the Portuguese decor. I'll definitely be back.
Lovely hotel, a little oasis ”
Stayed with a friend. Very nice oasis in the middle of Anjuna heat. Heavily populated with fellow russians, no other turists in sight. Lovely little spa facility and great massage. Breakfast was a bit boring and it is served on a patio. Did not see any roof terrace. Lovely staff and nice food.
Charming boutique hotel with friendly staff”
Casa Anjuna is a good option to 5-star hotels in Goa. One gets the Charm of an old Goa Mansion while still getting decent service in Goa which is sometimes hard to find in non 5 star hotels. The pool although pleasant to look at, could be larger so that more guests would want to use it. Otherwise, a good value for money.
