Quaint little oasis ”
This is a lovely heritage home in north Goa. It has a great pool and the rooms are very nice, with little antique details. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I would definitely recommend staying here!
So we decided to stay here for a night. Away from the hustle bustle in a quiet neighborhood. It’s a home stay. The 1st floor room are brighter and appeared fresh. Unfortunately we could not get as out of the 2 rooms one was under last minute renovation and other was occupied. We were given Malabar suite on the ground floor and everything was smooth except for the mosquitoes in the evening. Though they have catered old style mosquito nets over the bed. Rest is what you see is what you get. Breakfast was fresh and nice. Ground floor room with old style windows looked great till we had to shut them as old furniture is difficult to handle. At night our room was noisier due to the A/C unit of the room above is installed near the room. So suggest take rooms on the 1st floor. The dog is not on the leash which is mentioned in the room instructions booklet. Owners are friendly and did suggest a few places around for drinks and food. Care takers were also helpful and kind.
Sensational heritage house , staff outstanding , excellent facilities ”
Maybe a fridge in the room but any time you wanted anything cool to drink it was served to you in a flash !
Great staff, super helpful in planning my stay. Delicious breakfast and wonderful pool area!
Siolim House is a beautiful heritage house, with a lot of amazing details on the renovated conservation work. The Superior Suite were we stayed is absolutely stunning. With a Sino-Indian-Portuguese vibe to it and very generous dimensions (the bathroom alone is overwhelming). It´s a very interesting time travel with all the props adding to the experience. The staff was very nice and helpful with good tips on things to do around the area. Nice and varied breakfast, different every day. The pool area is also beautiful with stunning vegetation surrounding it (cookies and tea are offered while you are in the pool :)) Overall was a very nice experience, a time travel into the colonial era, with quiet environment and well-maintained architecture and props, friendly and professional staff that takes care of your needs. “Staff is good but service pathetic according to hefty or nonsense price””
To start with some positives. Property is great and staff including the manager were polite. All good ends here. We checked-in at evening already some hours late and found that electricity was not there (just imagine I would have sit for 4-5 hrs without electricity has I come at correct time), once it got rectified and we thought of relaxing, we came to know bedsheets were not changed and was having rats poop. On informing this to staff they said in routine accent, it is normal. What?? Are you sure? In between when they were changing, another blow came as we found AC was not working. On informing this to the staff they started shouting to each other in their native language which off course I was not able to understand, in fact I didn’t want but it doesn’t look good to fight in front of customer. Anyhow, electrician was again called and after more than 60 minutes of mismanagement we found WiFi wasn't working in room. Spending 12k getting pathetic services isn't acceptable.
Amazing converted Portuguese mansion in north Goa”
Four of us (two couples) traveled to Goa for the first time and stayed at Siolim House. We got the two 'big' suites and were amazed. Both suites are huge, with very high ceilings and beautiful four-post beds (and mosquito netting!). Though the house itself is like a living antique, the comforts were modern including excellent water pressure/hot shower etc. We were there in November and our room was very comfortable without A/C. Staff was very helpful in arranging taxis etc. and breakfast was incredible - very fresh croissants (taste homemade), house-made yogurt, delicious french press coffee, eggs to order or a traditional Indian breakfast. There is yoga in the courtyard every morning 730-830, and often times we were the only participants, which was awesome. The location is sort of between Morjim and Vagator, so you will mostly need to use a taxi or rent a car to get around, but we didn't find that very inconvenient, and it was nice to stay away from the crowds. In summary, this is a very unique, comfortable and beautiful hotel with great food and a luxury feel. It's just off the beaten track but close to everything. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone.
