We wished we could have stayed longer. The location in in the middle of the stunning Wulu Gorge. The food was very nice and the staff were exceptional. The woman at the front desk who welcomed us was accommodating, friendly, and helped us with all aspects of our stay. We loved the different activities that were included with the stay. The hot springs spa was very neat and nice. We loved our stay here and will try to make it back another time!

We enjoied the trip into the remote valley. Since 2009 there is no throughfair due to a taifun. There is still a lot of destruction around . Ongoing construction work interesting to watch. .

Remote and Beautiful”

This hotel is a great place to get away from it all. It is the most remote hotel I've stayed in in Taiwan. We were at least an hour from the nearest 7-11, which is hard to do in this country! Great place if you want to go hiking (spectacular walking bridge and path from right outside) or soak in the lovely hot springs. Only one of the staff spoke a little English.

Travel paradise in South Taiwan”

(1) Cleanliness of hotel spring pools needs to be improved, because oily scum can be seen. (2) It is accessible to this hotel only from Taitung, because east-to-west mountain road starting from Tainan is stll under repair

Enjoyed the hot springs”

spent christmas eve there. enjoyed the hike across the suspension bridge behind the hotel and a long soak in the hot springs. our room was right next to the hotel sign, so it was pretty bright all night long. also, the beds were a bit hard (as were most we encountered in taiwan), but overall the room was fairly comfortable.

If you are visiting the location, you do not have many hotels to choose from, and this is the best in that locale.

A hotel in the mountain”

The hotel is 40 mins' drive from the nearest train station. It is run by a family. They devote some efforts in making night time activities (e.g. dessert DIY, archery game) because there is actually nothing much to do during night time.

Hotspring and nature are the theme”

A lady guided us in the morning walk which starts at 6:30am everyday if it's not raining. She is very knowledgeable about the history of the area, birds and trees etc. It is certainly a highlight of our trip there.

a secluded spa hotel”

The spring water runs into your bathtub where you enjoy your privacy. Or else, you can spa in the outdoor pools facing the magnificent view of the gorge and the legendary swinging bridge, while listening to birds singing and squirrel jumping from trees to trees. The hotel has a free guided tour at 6:30am. A kind lady walked us through a part of the road in-between the gorge and told stories about the life of aboriginal people. The guided tour ended at a spring source where the lady boiled the eggs for us. This is a place for relax. For those interested, be prepared to drive as there is no public transportation.

staff didn't speak english, nor did any of the signs provide their warnings in english. fortunately, my son was fluent in chinese. they charged us for a triple even thou there was only two of us. the room was a double bed room.

A nice get-away hotel with pleasant service”

The hotel has a rustic feel which suits the location. Rooms are nice and the hot springs are wonderful. If you're looking for a place to really get away from the city, then this is the place to go! There are some English-speaking staff members, but may not always be available. All staff members were extremely nice. Sightseeing options are limited without your own transportation, but there is a hiking trail connected to the hotel grounds. I would also suggest trying the lunch or dinner at least once. Very tasty, and the staff is happy to answer any questions you might have.

it was not easy getting to this hotel. it's literally in the middle of nowhere. i had my iphone guide me to the location, which required driving about an hour on the cross island highway (which seemed more like a cross island adventure trail at times) in the dark, and i asked myself more than once if it were possible that a hotel could be located along this route. i was very much relieved when i did in fact arrive. the hotel clerk did not really speak english, and i did not speak chinese, but a call to the english-speaking manager sorted things out and i checked into my room. after checking in, i had dinner upstairs, which was very interesting, including many interesting local foods which i'd not come across on my previous four trips to taiwan. if you are opened-minded enough, you will really enjoy this meal. after dinner i went down to enjoy the hot spring pools. one pools is around 28 degrees while the other is around 40 degrees. they pools include some spa-like features such as showers and jacuzzi jets. i spend a couple of hours there and it was absolutely great! it seemed like my reward after the long drive along the crazy road. in the morning, i joined a group walking tour to visit some interesting places along the gorge. it's quite a pretty location, though not really comparable to taroko gorge. the hike terminated in a hot spring where the guide proceeded to boil a kettle full of eggs, and when i ate the egg apportioned to me, i was impressed to find that it was perfectly cooked and quiet delicious. the downside of this complimentary tour was that the guide only spoke mandarin, which left me in a state of "ting bu dong" such that i couldn't fully appreciate the apparently interesting sites along the tour path. my room was decent enough, with a kind of "cabin in the woods" feel. the free internet was a bit dodgy, however.\ it's worth nothing that the hot water for the shower also comes form the natural hot spring, making a great
