The location is so convenient. It is only 2 minutes walk from the station. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The private outdoor onsen is excellent. Highly recommended !!
Newly renovated Open-Air Onsen!”
Been there before back in 2009, during these years they have added new wings and new facilities and one of them is the Public Open-Air Onsen. Again, we are facing the mountains and trees while dipping in the Onsen. The location of this Onsen Resort is impeccable! like 5 mins walk from the train, best if you are travelling with kids and elderly and not driving. However, there is one down side... the bed bugs seems to be rather active on the mattress my fd slept on... would highly suggest them to dis-infect the mattresses.
A lovely ryokan hotel”
This hotel very near to station and it’s suitable for those can’t travel far with huge luggage. The hotel room is spacious and clean, the staff was so friendly and provide very good customer service to room guests. I have my dinner and breakfast served in my room. The food was so delicious and beautiful.
Totally enjoyed my stay ”
Staffs were super friendly. Ordered the dinner and it was very delicious. Opt for the open bath room which leveled up the whole onsen experience, enjoyin private time at your own time and room. Location is excellent. Definitely will recommend this place.
Very convenient location ”
Dining is all in private rooms, once dinner & breakfast ready, the Housekeeping Lady would actually come and knock on the door to inform us. Although she spoke in Japanese which we didn’t understand but we knew what she was telling us. Room size is pretty reasonable, very nice large balcony with a bathtub. Very comfortable open air area. We reserved once if the private open air onsen on the top floor, big size area. Too bad we went at 9pm when it’s all dark, can’t see any view but day time would be fantastic. Very convenient location, train station within 10 mins walk, many souvenir shops too. Pleasant experience. No carpark available so once we have checked in, the keys have to be handed in to the reception. Highly recommend this ryokan. 😃
Amazing authentic Japanese experience”
Wonderful ryokan, delicious food and excellent service. Will be recommending to our friends looking for an authentic Japanese ryokan experience. Breakfast and dinner were top notch, and the staff couldn’t be more polite and helpful. Thank you for the great stay!
Awesome Hakone ”
Located less than 5 mins walk from station & staff are nice, polite, helpful, and one of them speak very good English. We booked a room with private onsen with river view and very satisfied with the experience, so relaxing spent time with family. At night you can also join the public onsen on the top floor. Looking for food, souvenirs, and snacks are very easy, less than 1 min walk and you already in the city area and the only street with shops in Hakone Yumoto area.
It is very nice hotel, his position is very convenience because he is very dear Hakone Yumoto train station and Main Street and bus interchange. The people of the hotel can speak English and very helpful . The only is the hot spring area is too small
Great location and healthy food. The stream passes by the hotel on the back side. An excellent ryokan style hotel with Onsen at a 3 min walking distance from the train station. A highly recommended place! It would help if the check-in time would be around 12pm instead of 2pm, especially for long distance travelers. Overall a wonderful accommodation!
Excellent stay! We opted the Japanese room with attached bath and meals. Room was spacious. The attached shower though small has good hot water pressure in the cold winter months. The attached shower can lead to the attached outdoor bathtub. Meals was taken at a separate room which is dedicated to us only. The meals were very sumptuous Japanese cuisine. After dinner, futons were already laid out nicely in our room ready for us to snuck in. Same as breakfast time, when we finished, the futons were already packed away neatly in the cupboard. I’ll definitely stay here again for its excellent service, room and close proximity to train station!
The best ryokan experience ever! Great staff service, always attentive and considerate, we stayed in a room with open air bath and the room was recently renovated, nicely set out and extremely clean. The kaiseki breakfast and dinner was above our expectations with different varieties each day, thank you! Location couldn't be better next to the station, shops and bus stops.
Pricy, but good stay”
We stayed here for 1 night. The price was $220 USD.The location is unbeatable. It literally is 2 minute walk from the Hakone Yamoto train station. Very easy to find! We stayed in one of the standard rooms. The room was clean, very nice Japanese feel. You will sleep on the tatami. Hotel staff comes around 7pm to make your bed for you. You have the ability to purchase private open air onsen at the facility. Book early before good time slots ran out. 50 min is 2000 Yen. Beware if you booked breakfast, you have 2 time slots to choose from 7:30 or 8am. They set up the breakfast in your room for you, very nice touch. They do need to access your room ~30min ahead of breakfast time for putting away the bed and setting up. This is mandatory! So don't plan on sleeping in. But then again, when you are that far away from home, you do want to seize all the time you have, why would you choose to sleep in anyways. The facility is clean, staffs are nice. I enjoyed this stay overall.
The lobby almost turned us off. But once you come inside, it took our breath away”
The hotel located just besides the Hakone Yumoto Station. Very convenient for traveler to stay and explore Hakone area. In front of our “room” is a river view. Must be spectacular during autumn. Room is very huge with modern and tatami bed room. They provide dinner and breakfast at specific time in a private room. The food presentation is fantastic, they taste very delicious too. Staffs are super duper friendly. We felt like being home in this Ryokan. Facilities like private open air bath, public open air bath, public bath are open almost 24 hours. Room is very clean and spacious. Interior designer color is gorgeous. Very quiet place to sleep in. It was really a good Ryokan experience. My advice is that, they should renovate their lobby. It looks a bit old and smells like cigarette. I was almost disappointed after seeing the lobby. Oh they also do not have Japanese garden though.
Clean, comfortable Ryokan in Hakone”
Cons: None. By far one of the best I've stayed. Pros: - conveniently located near Hakone Yumoto station, literally right across the station. I did anticlockwise sightseeing in Hakone and back to Ryokan from lake ashi by bus (about 30min bus ride). Bus stop is like 3min walk to Ryokan. - located in the street/area where you can find tons of restaurants, souvenirs stores, 7-11, family mart etc. - fantastic meals (dinner and breakfast) prepared by Ryokan. - all staffs are extremely helpful and speak good English. - all rooms are facing the river and it's so relaxing to soak in the open air onsen and listen to the river. Thanks Hakone Suimeisou for your great hospitality and I'll be back. Highly recommended!!
Great location only”
Great location just 2 minutes walk from the main station. Choose this place mainly for the kaiseki dinner n breakfast but way below my expectations so not worth the price paid. For 1 time experience staying in a traditional Ryokan only.
Fantastic value for money. Unique experience ”
Hotel was extremely easy to get to 3 mins walk from Hakone Yumoto which is convenient when carrying luggage. The hotel offers various public onsens and the private onsen is well worth the additional cost with the view of the waterfall outside your window. The food and service was impeccable. Money well spent in my opinion.
