Check in was a disaster, room were ready after 3 pm. Due to the inconvenience, we were offered an upgrade in the room (at the end wasnt possible) and 2 pack and play for the babies but never deliver them room.

Clean comfortable with friendly staff”
My family and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and professional the whole time. The price was reasonable and the rooms were clean and comfortable. This was very close to the medical facilities and to the rail line that was a short ride to downtown or the museums. We will be staying again next time we visit. The only note is that the parking deck is relatively low and would not be suitable for tall vehicles or roof racks/boxes.

It was nice enough. But they charge an extra $15 per day per car. I don’t think the bar/ restaurant is open throughout they day. It closes and nothing is available.

We checked in at 10p to a room with food on the floor. I notified the check in employee and he changed our room. The second room had dirty shoe prints and dirty water drops on the rest room floor. I notified the check in employee again and on the third try, we got a clean room. For breakfast, we ordered from the Herb N Go. All of their tables to sit down and eat at we're dirty. We will not be going back here.

Fine but not up to my expectations”
When the name Hilton comes up, I have elevated expectations. This place reminds me of a Holiday Inn that was bought by Hilton, given a light remodel and then started hosting guests. The quality of the room was sub par in my opinion, which I don't mind when paying Holiday Inn rates but cringe a bit when paying Hilton rates.

Pros: Location: Adjacent to the Texas Medical Center so if you have business at any of the hospitals, you’ll be as close as possible. Cleanliness. Cons: 1. parking. The parking garage is difficult to negotiate with large concrete supports between spaces. $15.00/night to park. Through some kind of SNAFU, I got charged twice: $30 for one night of parking. 2. The mattress. It was very soft, making sleep difficult. 3. Thermostat. The room was too hot. I lowered the thermostat and it showed that the temperature did lower, but I couldn’t get the room to feel cooler. 4. Breakfast buffet. It cost $15 or $20 and had much less of a selection than your average hotel with free breakfast buffet. The eggs were runny and cold.

Having just experienced Hurricane Harvey, you'd think every hotel in town would be ecstatic to have you for a reasonable price (yes, even at the Hilton)! Staff friendliness was exceptional but the clientele was what really killed the mood. During check out I was rudely cut in line by an older woman who just visited the bar and was in need of a shuttle. During my dinner at Shamrock there were multiple complaints from "regulars" about the food menu needing an upgrade and how they might need a new chef. My room either had paper thin walls or the woman next to me genuinely couldn't hear whomever she was on the phone with. My room was clean and comfortable but the overall experience was a C+ at best. Renovations were taking place but the whole establishment needs a facelift. Hilton Houston Plaza/Medical center, you really let me down.
