Old hotel near Westbahnhof”
My dad stayed at this hotel, while my daughter and I traveled in other countries. Based on what I saw and his comments, his room is a bit cramped and musty. His room was located on the on the ground floor of the hotel, which makes it convenient for him. The hotel is right across Westbahnhof station, which makes it easy to move around Vienna. I would recommend that the hotel provides some basic appliance such as electric kettle. Good thing my dad's friend provided those that is lacking in his hotel room.
A classic and Clean hotel”
The hotel is a classic one, with history, but it is clean, located just opposite to the West train station and Underground station. Shops, restaurants and commercial street just downstairs the hotel. All staffs are friendly and helpful, nice in English speaking. With the very budget price on it, I can't find a reason not to stay there! Don't miss out the chance to try on the old fashion Elevator, dun worry, it totally works! Happy to stay there.
Good Locality Hotel and Surpringsly Good Rooms!”
It came to me as a surprise that this hotel had very nice big rooms despite me booking the standard room. There was even a bathtub! The internet was very stable and fast. The selling point would be the locality and the classic design and decor of the hotel! It gave guests a really warm and hospitable feeling. I would definitely come back again.
Much better than expected”
The hotel has an old and cute air about it. It has great access to the airport (across the street from the Westbahnhof, or the West Railway Station, from where you can take the Airport Lines Bus to the airport), and is an easy 10-minute walk from the very center (through a great shopping street). Staff speak perfect English, very friendly and helpful! Fast internet access! Highly recommended!
Perfect location ”
The staffs are extraordinary helpful and nice, the location is perfect as well, there are many kind of transportation just right in front of the hotel. The down point is the shower room, there is just only one for two floors.
We stayed 4 nights in the hotel. There is no air condition in the hotel although it is summer. We had to open the window as it is rather cooling at night however we were given a room facing the main door. It is very noisy the whole day through. We tried to request for change of room but was told that they are running on full house. We tried for 2 days and gave up thereafter.
This hotel was fantastic!! Our room was large. The hotel is in a very nice old-fashion building, which gave an authentic touch to our trip in Vienna. The location is very good, next to the train station, next to a supermarket, and there are many restaurants around. There are not too many people in this area, so we were also allowed to enjoy a quiet walk in the pedestrian streets around. The breakfast was also very good, with Austrian specialities and a large quantity of food (we were able to skip the lunch and only eat again at diner time :-) ) The service at the reception was also great, always ready to help and with the smile :-)
Rooms not impressive no aircon no tissue box ”
Only wifi I strong - others no good - staff weird at times -Our first day gave us a 3 bedded room but one of the beds next to toilet and front door .not good feelings and bed not comfortable.there is no tissue box and free mineral water . Tv programs all can't watch. For the price we paid not worth it - will not recommend to stay- Rooms no aircon noisy when window opened
Good location and quality”
Solid hotel, would return
Big and clean room
Great. Situated near the metro and area for sightseeing.
everything is quite good...except no air-con. for the hot day in July.
room was hot but there was no airconditioner. but staffs are nice and kind.
Be very careful when booking through Agoda”
I arrived after the check in time and Agoda does not pass your contact info to the hotel, therefore the hotel was not able to contact me to tell me that they cannot check me into my room at the time I arrive. I was lucky I ran into someone who can call them for me and they have a safe box where they lock the key for my room outside the door, but if I didn't run into them I would've been sleeping on the street.
My room was clean but really tiny. Got room #1 on the ground floor and the window faced a very small and high court yard, some pigeons tried to come in - so I could not leave the window open much, plus the noise woke me up early in the morning. The bathroom was one of the smallest I've ever seen and the TV ancient.... It certainly was not a horrible place but nothing special at all!
There's a world of difference between old-fashioned and seedy. I appreciated the few relics from a more elegant age, but they are not enough to make one feel they are in a decent place and are treated as civilized humans... There was a lot of carelessness and obvious disinterest in bringing it to the 21st century (with minimal touch-ups). To have common toilets without a sink to wash your hands afterwards (except by travelling to the other end of a long corridor, touching doors with dirty hands) is simply unacceptable by today's standards. I also found unacceptable the dirty old carpet, the leaky, old-style tap in my room, which did not allow me to rest throughout the night and the rudeness of some of the staff. Other things, while modest, old and unappealing (the furniture, for instance), could be said to fall within what's to be expected at this price point.
Avoid this hotel if you could”
I have stayed in many hotels in Vienna and so far this is the worst. The power socket in the room had dropped out and could not be used. I asked for another room but the other room seemed worse so I was left with no choice. The receptionist was slow in everything - asked for extra pillow but they did not even bother to check or call back. I left the room key with the receptionist when I went out but she thought I was checking out. The worst thing was the staircase at the entrance and the lift. If you are a single traveller with heavy luggage, you'll have a hard time with the stairs and the heavy lift doors which must be manually opened. The shared toilet and bathroom are okay though. There are plenty of cheap and good hotels around Westbahnhof station - this is not one of them.
Pleasant and near the train station”
It was a pleasant short stay. It would be good if the hotel can have a platform for travellers to push their luggages to the reception area instead of going through flights of stairs from the entrance of the hotel. The hotel location is just opposite the train station.
Good location but other is ok”
Hotel has no air con. Its hot in the night time. Carpet is very very dusty. The room is not so clean. No facility
