Great Hotel Manager
We arrived early at the hotel and had to wait a couple of hours before we could get our room so seeing as the manager was in the reception area and spoke English a lot better than the receptionist we asked for info about the Wagah border ceremony, he organised some places on the double decker bus for us and even accompanied us through town to the bus just after lunch which was very nice of him. We also had a great room with an amazing view overlooking the Golden temple complex, right in the centre of Amritsar but away from all the chaos. Highly recommended!

Old hotel- needs renovation
Very ear to Golden Temple & excellent WiFi connectivity: the only 2 good things. The hotel is a very old one with poor facilities and amenities.

ONLY recommended if you just want to walk less than 1minute to the entrance of The Golden Temple
Sat Sri Akaal and Best Greeting to all. Plus-Points :- 1) Location, less than 1 minute walk to an entrance of the Golden Temple. 2) Offering of a basic room. 3) They assisted me in printing the e-boarding pass for my flight Amritsar-New Dehli-Cochin via a forwarded link to their e-mail's inbox. 4) They gave me a mini hamper (which offers junk food in mini packets, mini chocolate bars, a +/-500ml bottle of apple drink and two packet drinks, etc) in the spirit of celebrating Diwali. Bad experiences that I've encountered:- 1) I've typed special request on the airport transfer via Agoda's booking BUT I've never received any reply from the hotel. I had to make an international phone call the hotel on the travelling date only to the attended by a male employee who hardly able to correspond in English. Long story, I was given the phone number of the manager, Mr. Rohit; for further corresponding follow-up. I have to contact him and communicated via WhatsApp messaging with him only to be given the taxi driver's phone number to self-arrange between myself and the driver. 2)During checking-in at the front desk, my passport was taken for scanning, print-out for filing purposes etc. But upon checking-out, I was asked again for my passport for the male employee who wrongly scanned my old expired India tourist visa instead of the valid ones. 3) I was never briefed on the rules of the hotel that was not stated via Agoda or the hotel's website etc. On 21st night, I was unwell and I had to ask my friend for help to purchase take-away dinner to me instead of us going out celebrating my birthday at a restaurant that he has booked. We had to celebrate a night earlier as I was to fly-off from Amritsar on my birthday and he has work in the day time. My friend arrived with food and came up to my room. About 10 minutes later, my room's phone rang and I picked up only hearing "hello hello hellooo" and hanged up. About a minute later, the same male employee came pressing my room's door be

Dear Guest Thank you for the Feedback regarding our property, but i think no body can stay for three nights in same Hotel if hotel is not upto the mark. i my self arranged cab for pickup & drop to the Hotel after whatsapp conversation. you written in your review that hotel provided junk food like juices & chocolates on occasion of Dewali. from my point of view its a gift hamper & its fresh & Healthy which we used to distribute all the Guest who stayed with us on dewali occasion. and at last night we refuse to enter local guys (who is your friend as you said) in your room As per our policy we don't Allowed another outsider in a single lady room because of security reasons.and you told night before check out you going to put bad feed back that we didn't allowed your friend inside your room. Note: FOR GOOD & POSITIVE FEED BACK I CAN'T BREAK MY HOTEL RULES.. .

Excel·lent
Very convenient location as it is walking distance to The Golden Temple. The only problem staying in that area is that the way in/out of the place is through narrow lanes of the market which gets congested during the day time. So if you have a train/flight to catch, plan accordingly... (We almost missed our train)

Awful experience
The hotel staff especially was very rude especially lady who was sitting at the reception unable to communicate well with the customers, unable to follow English too. We had booked room for 3 persons and the price included for all 3 in the booking, still they made us pay additional Rs.500/- per bed per day. We were happy that Agoda intervened on the same and provided us with some solution or we would have checked out immediately from the hotel. It was Awful and very bad experience for us. The owner also not behaving well as he didn't come forward to sort this matter at his level. Such hotel should be banned at your end as it will spoil Agoda's reputation.

Pls don't stay here.....
I'm not usually so critical but this hotel is terrible!. Firstly the lift is frm the 1970's where you have to shut two doors before you can press which floor you want to go to. electricity went off a few times and I shudder to think of being caught in the lift. There are nooo amenities at all in the room. No dental kit, no kettle to boil water, no coffee and tea, totally zilch. When asked if they could provide a kettle, the staff asked for money so they could buy us one. Fridge in the room was not working also and they took a while to repay it. Poor service at counter as well and the staff appear clueless most of the time. Travellers with lots of luggage should note that it is difficult to reach hotels ard the temple by car/taxi. Cars are not allowed and we had to stop at the parking which is 20mins away and take a rickshaw or auto to get to and from the hotel. But because of the congested road, it took us up to an hr to get there from the parking. The only good thing abt the hotel was it's proximity to the Golden Temple but do yourself a favour and book another hotel like Sarovar Regency or Le Golden which are nearer and at least provide the basics of a hotel.
