No volvería.
Todo resultó perfecto. La habitación era comódisima por su amplitud, además de ser preciosa. Todos los servicios del hotel están cerca y de facil acceso.
Amazing place. Highly recommend ”
Pros. Everything. Such an amazing place to stay. My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights. Would of stayed longer if we had the time... location was absolutely perfect ( perfect views of Mirissa bay ) and close proximity to beach and town. Great pool. Staff are super friendly and will go out there way to help and please you. Also great breakfast. Cons nothing
Beautiful location ”
This was the first place we stayed in Sri Lanka and it set the bar extremely high. From the beautiful four poster bed, terrace, view of the waves and eclectic artwork. Thank you so much to all the wonderful staff at Number One Mirissa. I hope everyone is safe and well.
British Colonial style hotel”
The hotel view is amazing ! You don’t have to get out to the beach! The room is back in British colonial style ! The bed, furniture, the buildings are all look old but it’s somehow match with the theme of the hotel ! The location is very near to Mirissa beach, staffs are very friendly and nice ! They got us the wrong key at first and we managed to get someone else to change for us when we went outside for dinner ! The staff speaks very well English ! Breakfast are nice ! The hotel is very good couple getaway and honeymoon! Almost perfect !
Great long w/e place”
Loved it - quiet (Vesak) w/e, but enjoyed the pool, general vibe of the hotel. Beach right there. Staff was friendly & efficient.
Lovely but totally overpriced”
The situation may have since changed, but we stayed here over Chinese New Year in 2017 and the prices were totally over the top. This might have been because there was a shortage of adequate accommodation options at the time. Saying that the rooms were wonderful (with great balconies) and the pool was nice, but it should've been half the price. If it were, I would stay again, otherwise, I would look elsewhere.
Best Spot on Mirissa Beach”
We really enjoyed the hospitality & service at this hotel. Management & staff alike were all very welcoming, helpful & pleasant throughout our stay. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable & we had a lovely balcony view of the surf break (an upgrade offered by the hotel which was nice). Breakfast was good, plentiful & tasty, & served with a smile...and capsule coffee available on request. Hotel location is best on the beach, right at the 'quiet corner' of the bay, within a very short walking distance to eating & drinking venues along the beach. This would definitely be a plus if visiting in peak season. Thanks for a great stay!
Beach in style”
After lazing in the sun and being in the water there was nothing better than coming back to this room. So calm and luxurious. Massive verandah overlooking the rolling waves - so close you could almost touch them Gorgeous lush gardens. 1 minute to the beach and easy access to restaurants and bars. Nice pool to finish off the day with. Ease access to transport also.
home away from home”
very glad I chose this hotel it was very comfortable and friendly we were travelling with our adult children and grandaughter and felt very comfortable and relaxed at this hotel just a generally really nice feel to the whole place.
Disappointing stay considering the price”
So disappointed with our stay at Number One Mirissa. This was by far the most expensive place we stayed at in Sri Lanka and the worst. Considering we paid $350 per night - the facilities, cleanliness, the old poorly appointed rooms, and the overall quality of accommodation is just not up to standard. We paid half the price of this for magnificent accommodation in other places. The pillows were stained, the bathroom was grotty with broken bits off the vanity cupboard, the electricity kept going off, the pool area is downright dangerous with a huge drop and no railing (don't bring kids here!), and breakfasts were only just OK. Lovely young boy who looked after us so well, and staff were pleasant, and the views from the large balcony, and by the pool are stunning. The location is great for a surfer, you can see the waves and in 2 mins you can walk down to the beach. But overall, needs a full refurb and some care to live up to its 'boutique' label. Nowhere near it!
Not worth it!!! Go somewhere else!!!”
We payed 600 usd with taxes for 2 days. Tjis was crazy!!!! We thought it would be luxurious hotel but instead it is an old house and lousi place with no view full of palms and the swimming pool is tiny! We regret having going here soo much!!! We could have stayed in any place at Mirissa beach and would have beeb great so plesde dont go there! This place worth no more than 80 usd per night! Our bad expirience is because the price is crazy!!!! And not worth it!!! As soon as we arrived I wanted togo away but if we would have done this we would have lost more money instead!!!
Beautiful beachy views”
Very nice staff Lovely views from the salt water pool which is nicely heated. Nice breakfast included. Quite a few mosquitoes just because of its proximity to the beach so bring repellent. Rooms are great, comfortable beds and nice front porch area with hammock Great choice of seafood restaurants within a short walk along the beach
Lovely honeymoon location”
We loved the location and seclusion. Was very quiet and beautiful natural setting. The rooms were excellent, very comfortable, lovely furniture and well appointed. Staff were great and we loved the pool and decor
A spectacular location and well features boutique villa. ”
Pros - Fantastic spot away from the crowd and the mess leg by the recent government bulldozing of illegal bars (the good restaurants are still there though) Friendly staff Right next to great surf and stunning beach (at the best end) Saltwater pool Even the manager gave us a lid to Galle No real cons - maybe the tiny gap in the doors overlooking the beach allowing in a couple of mosquitoes. But there are nets over the bed so thank you!
My sister and I stayed here for four nights and the hotel itself is beautiful, and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and the view from the pool was amazing! It can be a little loud at night due to noise travelling from the beach parties but we still managed to get some good sleep! Highly recommended!
Like sleeping on top of a night club. ”
The hotel itself is very lovely. Only 8 rooms, lovely big balcony. Comfy bed. However the neighbouring hotel/bar played loud heavy music until 2/3 am (this was a Monday and Tuesday night). Was awful! Like sleeping on top of a nightclub. Although we couldn’t really get much sleep. The staff weren’t even that apologetic about it. We eventually spoke to the manager who eventually admitted that they have called the police multiple times about the noise and they have a court case ongoing. We cut our stay short and moved to the Marriott at Weligama. We managed to get a partial refund but were still out of pocket. Even without the noise I wouldn’t recommend because the hotel is really overpriced. For what we paid we expected a bit of luxury. The pool is tiny. There is no direct beach access - you have to walk down the road and then cut through. Shower was disappointing. The staff are fine but not very service oriented. Food was nice though.
We loved our stay at Number One, our favourite place on our whole trip. Location was perfect, slightly away from the busy end of the beach with a gorgeous view and easy access to the beach and sea. Room was lovely, staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and food was delicious. Couldn't have asked for better! Highly recommend and hopefully we'll be back!
Charming and beachy, but overpriced”
The hotel was in a more private location than the nearby hotels and had a salt water pool overlooking the ocean which was great. The hippy/beachy vibes made it very fun and relaxing, but for how expensive it was the rooms were somewhat lacking. There were some little details - like the door to our porch not being able to shut all the way, the wifi not working and air conditioner issues - that I didn't mind (and are to be expected in a remote beach town) but wouldn't have expected in a hotel that was at least 2x as expensive as the others in the area. Overall we had a great stay in Mirissa and would have loved to spend more time relaxing by the beach and pool, just wish we hadn't paid quite so much.
