This place is only 7 mins walk from Taitung Train station so it is convenient if you are need to catch a trail early in the morning and also there for the hot air balloon festival . The shuttle bus across the train station takes you all the way to Luye Hot air balloon balloon festival. Also at the same bus stop you may board the bus to the city centre as the owner recommended a lot of good food found there. Directions to this place - once you exit from the train station turn left to a huge parking lot for motorcycles. At the zebra crossing walk straight and take the inner path; Joy Hotel should be on your right. Walk till you are at the main road and cross towards a row of 4-storey building. Snail Trail is the 2nd one. The disposable towel works as well and the owner is attentive if you have a question for them.

This small guesthouse is located near the train station, but unfortunately it is quite far from town. There seems to be a few motorcycle and bicycle rental places near the train station though. The owners (a husband-wife team) were incredibly friendly and helpful. I just can not say enough nice things about them! The breakfast was fantastic. There was no choice (everyone gets the same thing) but it was great... including some homemade focaccia bread that was amazing. They also have a coin-operated washing machine that is available (no dryer, but my clothes mostly dried overnight). If you are looking for a nice place near the train station, then this is an excellent choice.

Close to station, not to city”

The staff were really helpful, but unfortunately the message remained the same: organise some transport of you want to go to the city. There are very few food options nearby, with the 7-11 being your best shot at a five minute walk. Breakfast was amazing. No seriously, the lady of the house makes brilliant focaccia! A warning about the towels: they use disposable ones.

Pros: big clean rooms with confortable bed, the best breakfast in Taiwan so far (fruits, bacon, eggs, homemade bread and salad) and the owners were really helpful and friendly. The internet and it's good place for digital nomads. We ended up booking an extra night just cos it was so confortable. Very close to the train station Con; a little far from the downtown and not so many food options close.

Snail trail hotel was a quick stop for my husband and I who were headed to Green Island the next day. We were contacted the day before arrival by agoda so the hotel would prepare for our arrival. Thankfully, the owner also provided a Google maps link to help us find the place. The rooms were very nice, clean, and spacious. The owners were so nice and friendly.

Nice host. Close to Taitung Train Station but not Taitung city center/ night market. Very clean and good size room, but sound insulation is not that good.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is on the outskirts of town, but it was quite quick to get into Central Taitung. The road wasn't super crowded and parking was just across the street.

It is a good stay. It is better if the room got chairs even though the bed is Japanese style. Owners are very nice to recommend us sightseeing points.

The owners are very friendly and helpful. They have 2 blocks so must go to main block to check-in. Highly recommend for those want to stay near to train station.
