Staff is very friendly and helpful. Exterior property is beautiful but needs better upkeep. Mountains in the back are beautiful. Only disappointment is there is no restaurant for dinner; you have to drive into the city which is 15-20 minutes away.

Nice hotel but not close to town”

The hotel is about 15 mins drive from the Taitung train station and 20 mins drive from town centre. There is no public transport and you need to take taxi (though not very expensive). Room is nicely decorate, modern and clean. Breakfast is above average.

The hotel is clean, and had wonderful amenities. The staff in the restaurant are kind to guide guests. I recommend to have a dineer in the hotel. It's very delicacies and had its unique characteristic. I tastes Ravioli at that day. If somesone likes Italian food, this is the best choice.

It's not exactly in Taitung City (10-15 min by car), but this is not an issue if you have a car. It's quite nice to be staying on the grounds of a museum. A solid recommend if you're looking for a different type of lodging experience. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Come here and enjoy one of the most beautiful, peaceful hotels in Taiwan. The Museum next door and the parklike grounds are a plus. The breakfast and afternoon tea are fabulous but the restaurant closes for dinner, so make plans. I will come back every time I'm in Taitung.

Really helpful staff”

This place is well off the beaten track, but it is quiet, and very handy for the Taiwan Prehistory Museum. Your room price includes tickets to the museum. Breakfast was simple, but nice, and the Italian dinner at the restaurant was lovely too. Only real access here is by taxi or your own transport because it is a bit out of town, but this is part of the charm (away from the business and noise). The rooms are simple and clean and the beds were soft - this was a bed highlight on our trip in Taiwan where the beds are very hard :)

Stylish boutique hotel next to a great museum”

We stayed for one night and it was an unexpectedly GREAT experience. We love it a lot. It's close to the museum which is good thing, but it's kind of far from the city centre. However, what you get is a certain peace and quiet. The garden outside the hotel is fabulous, they also have bikes for rent. The bed is comfy but they need to touch up more to keep the rooms in shape.

Stylish hotel next to an unexpectedly GREAT museum”

Planned to visit Taitung for museum, ended up booking hotel on-line after seeing it on the same property, and we didn't want to drive into town on Friday afternoon in traffic. Surprisingly comfortable and reasonable value, especially as it includes tickets to museum. Wish had known that the dancing fountains on the museum grounds are operating between 5-5:20 pm, and again around 8-8:30pm. As it was, we ran out from the museum to catch them at 11am and it was fun and well worth it. Others have mentioned that the bathrooms don't seem to be of the same quality as the rest of the hotel, which I agree. But I would/will schedule another visit when we return in the future.

Luxurious feeling at mid range price.”

Exquisite wood work decoration. Architect Michael Graves's office did a good job. Walking distance from the train station. Price include the ticket to the National Prehistoric Museum next door. They supply the best thick sleeper we ever seen. What a relief to find here a free laundry room in the middle of our 12 days trip.

Great hotel, location is remote but view is great”

This is a great hotel but outside the city. There is nothing within walking distance but the museum. Great Italian restaurant value for money. Great housekeeping service. Overall front desk service is good except of 1 or 2 bad eggs.

This is the first time we stay in Taitung Cultural Excursion Resort. We love everything about this resort. The resort is very clean, equipped with good amenities and full of design. It also has a good Italian restaurant in the resort. We will stay in this hotel next time we visit Taitung again for sure.

Clean and nicely decorated but remote”

being right next to the musuem, the hotel is rather remote and is only good for visitors who drive. other than that, it is a lovely small hotel with reasonable service, good breakfast and good hygiene. the shower gel and shampoo they advertise and provide in room are really good stuff. in any case this is a good hotel within this budget given that you drive or don't mind staying in a quiet place. it is up to my expectation.

was doing the around-Taiwan trip. It takes too long to drive from Keding to Hualien in one day, so decided to stop by at Taitung for one night. Just slept in. We were driving, and the parking lot was convenient. Free breakfast and wi-fi option.

nice resort with great view”

The resort is new and is located beside a museum with great exhibits. A great place for family and for those who self-drive. A taxi ride to town (nothing much in town anyway) would cost about 250TWD per 1-way trip. It is a great place for those who self-drive as it is near the mountains which are just across a bridge beside the resort. Great for families too as the museum will occupy the kids for half a day.

Surprising great!”

It is a hugh surprise to find such a wonderful boutique hotel in rural area of Taiwan, especially for places like TaiTung. The staffs were very helpful, friendly, and professional. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was built right next door to the Museum and with free access to it. And with all these, the rates are still in a very reasonable level, even in local's standard. I travel a lot across the US and Europe. The overall standards of the hotel are nothting less than those in the US and Europe. I will definitely come back here if I go to TaiTung next time.

quiet location great restaurant”

The hotel is 2-years-old, so the rooms are modern & clean. The staff was friendly & helpful. You need a car to get to this place as it is out of the city, but extremely quiet. It is closely linked to the pre-history museum for which you receive a free ticket as a hotel guest. The restaurant serves Italian cuisine, delicious & with tasty wines. There was jazz music playing as we enjoyed the Western/Asian breakfast.

it was a very great experience staying at this hotel. very nice staff, very good service, and the hotel rooms are great too. The price is reasonable and we really enjoyed our stay here. Surely we will come back again !

Lovely Hotel although a little far off”

Very good service from the hotel staff. They were patient with our requests and helped us a lot with giving us a private area with our 3 bicycles and our belonging. The rooms were spacious and clean and the bar is stocked up. They gave nice recommendation on where to go for the night and helped us with calling of cab. So the location is not a big obstacle at all. Lovely place. Will return to this hotel if I go Tai Tung again.
