excellent service and unique experience”
If you are looking for a very secure small boutique this cannot be best in Bangkok. I had 1. a quiet meeting 2. great swim in the perfect pool 3. Excellent dinner board meeting at Quince (50 meter walk) 4. Perfect sleep in great bed and bedding. 5. Shower is full on excellent. 6. Wake up swim and simple and excellent French toast breakfast. 7. 30 minutes to airport. Perfect stay. I give it a 10 unless you need the skytrain.
A little treasure in Bangkok”
I'm always happy to come back to Cabochon. Such a nice place, beautiful interior, nice and clean rooms, super friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food at the restaurant and a lovely pool on the rooftop. I highly recommend this place!
My home in Bangkok”
This is my third stay and the only hotel in Bangkok I actually stayed more than once. The staff actually recognized me although my last stay was a year ago. It's located between Emporium and Thonglor/Ekkamai area so very convenient for shopping and dining. Breakfast is delicious, and the roof top pool is temperature controlled so water is always cool. The concept of this hotel is being guest in a well off Chinese Thai merchant in the 1920's and they really do it successfully. The restaurant serves really authentic Northern Thai/ Laotian food and is popular amongst local expats and "Hi-so" Thais.
Very good hotel ”
A most comfortable stay with very good hotel facilities. Rooms were clean and the layout is most stylish.Breakfast buffet has plenty to offer, with service staff always ready to assist. Check-in & check-out reception counters were efficient. More than I had expected at this affordable price. I will certainly be back!
My home in Bangkok”
This is my second stay at Cabochon, and I have decided this hotel will be the one I stay every time I go to Bangkok. They look after their guests just like guests in their own house. Restaurant is pricey but famous in Bangkok and definitely worth it. It is right between the new Emquartier and the hip Thonglor/Ekkamai area so location is also great.
Very Stylish but Service Could be Improved”
A fantastic hotel in 1920s style. This is not a dubai-style over the top glitz hotel, it's minimalist, quirky and colonial, which fortunately suited me very much. Location is also good and recommend having lunch at Quince just opposite. Rooms are well appointed, but the ones at the back of the hotel are not exactly filled with natural light. Staff are very well-meaning and did everything they could, but they are in need of more training to bring this hotel to a 9 or a 9.5 out of 10. Overall though a great hotel and will be back.
THE Grand Cabochon Hotel”
Perhaps my favorite place to stay while away from home, anywhere. The wonderful folks at Cabochon welcomed me with a fresh young coconut, and provided me with well appointed comforts and attention during my entire stay. An establishment centered on peace and tranquility amongst the madness of Bangkok.
good location, room a little dark”
The Cabochon was a good option for a one night stay, & perhaps the suites may have been better. It did come as a surprise to learn that it is only 4 years old as it looks convincingly like a 1920s era building. That said, our room was a little dark and the bathroom did look old, so maybe that could have been updated. Breakfast was limited and a little disappointing. I'm not sure why they don't have it in the restaurant rather than the lounge. The restaurant was very good - northern Thai food that was really good and not expensive. It's location is good - at the end of an alley, so very quiet, but close enough to walk to soi 51 food area, plus the Dental Hospital (if you're in town for this!).
Finally found a hotel I would return to in Bangkok”
I have always stayed in different hotels every time I went to Bangkok because there are too many choices, but I think next time I will still stay in Cabochon. It only has 8 rooms so staff takes good care of you but not intrusive at all. Breakfast consists of a small cold buffet and hot dishes made to order. Not a big choice but all well prepared. You get the feeling of being a guest in a well off Thai house back in 30's. The hotel is in between 2 BTS stations, one of which ( phrom pong) is adjacent to a big shopping mall, and 5 stops to Siam. The hip Thong Lor/ Ekamai area is also near by. It's also quite enough since it's tucked away at the end of Soi 45. The restaurant serves excellent northern Thai food, although on the pricey side. It's a hidden gem in Bangkok not to be missed.
Interesting off-beat hotel in a quiet location.”
Hotel was at the end of an alley off Sukhumvit (45 Alley) between BTS Stations, Thong Lo and Phrom Phong. Has old-world/colonial charm, private library cum cocktail bar/lounge. Quaint with private touches. Looking forward to next trip to have a meal at their Thai restaurant. Facilities are limited, rooftop pool only. Rooms are located in separate wings of the building that share common living areas with kitchens (Breakfast is served at your own wing). My room had no dedicated shower, only a copper bathtub. Would not recommend to the elderly with difficulties.
Beautiful, Charming boutique hotel”
The place was quite difficult to find because most taxis are not familiar with the hotel and also because it is located in a secluded area, although a short distance from the main road, one would not expect to find a beautiful quaint hotel amidst the houses and establishments surrounding it. I feel this adds to the charm of the hotel - the feeling of getting away from it all. Some much needed privacy. Our room when we checked in was small but we transferred to a bigger room the next day. The details on all the rooms are lovely in their simplicity. The food at breakfast was delicious and sufficient. (The fresh fruit juice tasted very good!) Same thing can be said about the food in their restaurant. For everyone who loves a good Gin & Tonic, do not miss The Joy Luck Club's (bar) selection! Hands down, the best ones I have ever had! We will definitely be back!
Nice little private retro hotel with great service”
Cabochon is one of the few retro style hotels in Bangkok. The hotel is nicely tucked in the alley of a busy street between two metro stations. Upon arrival, we were greeted with local refreshments. The room has a little nice balcony, and was also filled with free fruits and refreshments. The hotel is very private and quiet with few guests, with allowed us to have good rest. What was best about the hotel is the staff, very friendly, kindly answered all our questions, and pointed us to the places we wanted to go.
A quiet place located in the heart of the busy city. You can walk to all major malls and attractions. Good location. Lovely staffs. Spacious room with balcony, living/dining room, comfy bed and nice bathroom.
Very unique and cool”
Very neat place that is tucked away just steps from the main road but far enough off the grid of the city streets of Bangkok. We were amazed at the atmosphere and perfect balance that the owner achieved through the thoughtful and precise designing of space. We had a very good stay and enjoyed the comfort of cozy beds and pretty good food. The staff were friendly although they did not seriously represent the full potential of what this hotel could be offering. The cleaning staff also took quite a very long time to manage to get to the few rooms that should be cleaned earlier than mid-afternoon. Overall, we would definitely - most highly recommend this hotel. It was a very good experience that we will never forget and will be sure to return to hopefully one day. Very impressed!
I like this hotel a lot. It is very different from a "standard" hotel room. Staff is really friendly and i couldn't compliment the food they serve more (although it's a bit on the pricey side)If i have to complain, the only thing is that the bed is too small and soft. And the pool on the rooftop is not a family friendly pool. Too small and there is not enough shade for you to sit under. Other than that, i think this hotel is great. I will recommend it.
returning with my partner after my first business stay, to show off this hotel i was not disappointed. greeted on the front steps of this lovely hotel by the manager, welcomed back and upgraded to a suite what more is there to say! the personal service, wonderful surroundings and very comfortable rooms will see us coming back often.
Absolute gem in Bangkok”
I normally try to find new funky hotels in my business travels through Asia. Unfortunately there will be no more searching in Bangkok! This is it! The nicest, funkiest Hotel I have discoverered in a very long time and I won't be staying anywhere else in future. Everything about this new hotel is great, beautiful heritage building, amazing interiors, comfortable rooms, great restaurant and friendly staff. What more is there to consider!
Loved this hotel. I enjoyed the location and the amenities. I do wish there had been a bluetooth radio or something, but otherwise, fantastic location and wonderful amenities. Really loved the style of the hotel.
Fall in love with this hotel”
Everyone here is sooo sweet and so cute and thank you guys sooo much for providing us some wise choice about our stay in Bangkok , though we couldn't make an late check out because the hotel is so popular but thank you guys so much for let us use the swimming pool freely and keep our suitcase at the lobby:) The restaurant is so cool and every dish is cooked with patience and skill . One of my favorite is mango sticky rice:) it's a little bit different from the traditional one but very impressive. I will definitely go to Bangkok again just for this hotel.
