Next to the Pier and 1m from motorbike rentals”
Rooms are okey, showers not so great. They forgot to clean my room the night I stayed but the location of the place and the fact that the owner let me and 5 friends (which stayed at another place) keep our stuff there waiting 3h for the boat made me satisfied.

Great location and funky spacious two roomed hotel”
Location, quiet area but surrounded by restaurants, standards
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this strangely concrete room that suited us fine. Our room had two bunks in a separate area that gave us room to spread out our gear. Recommended and the food, service and atmosphere at the cafe Del Sol restaurant also recommended

Comfortable and spacious”
Big room with balcony, clean, housekeeping
The guesthouses are on the second floor above a dive shop- it was quiet at night. It was a 15 minute walk to sairee beach (35minute walk to sairee town). The room was comfortable, beds hard (normal) and there was a nice hot water shower. AC worked well and also had a fan on the ceiling. Our only issue was getting wifi in our room- the staff (at the restaurant) were very friendly and helpful and did resolve our issue within a couple of days.

Superb, Comfortable, Awesome!!!!!”
Location, Beautiful bathroom, big patio in a great central location
This was hands down the best place I stayed on Koh Tao. Super good air conditioner, beautiful bathroom with a real shower, a very comfortable queen size bed, cable TV and dvd player, and a massive patio in the most central location found in Mae Haad were my favorite parts. And I can't forget Cafe Del Sol, the namesake restaurant. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with affordable prices, it has some of the best pizza and entrees to be found on the island. I absolutely loved this place and would stay there again in a heart beat.

Good room on the main drag in Koh Tao”
Large comfy room, good food in the cafe
The guesthouse is located on top of few shops opposite Cafe Del Sol. The room is large, nicely designed with comfy beds/clean linen. The food in the cafe is good and highly recommended. Being on the main drag in Koh Tao it can get a bit noisy in the evening so if you have an issue sleeping with a bit of noise (from bars etc) this might not be the place for you.

pleasant, centrally located”
location, bed, location
Very pleasant little place - pick up your key from the restaurant, which is across the street - the rooms are up on the second floor above the dive shop. Has a huge balcony, the restaurant is a great hangout with very good food. This place is super-centally located, it's about a 2 minute walk to the pier where you arrive on Koh Tao.

Comfortable rooms, great location and value!”
Comfortable rooms, great location and value!
It was our first time visiting koh Tao and we last minute tried to find somewhere that had air conditioning, modern and good reviews at the cheapest price. We booked the minimum two nights and ended up extending here for an additional six nights. We intended on doing our open water dive course which we did through Golden divers who were great and one of the cheapest. It's a few minutes walk to their boat and the pier so great location for that. Cafe de sol is two apartments side my side on top of a dive shop. The cafe itself is across the road where you pick up the key. This place is as a two minute walk from the pier so no need to get a taxi on arrival and departure. Lots of shops, restaurants, massage places etc nearby. Sairee beach is around a 20 minute walk along the pedestrian track that goes alongside the cafe - a few hills at start but not too much of a walk and that's where you'll find all the nightlife, more restaurants, shops etc. the rooms are a decent size, modern, clean, nice balcony and drying area for clothes, wifi very good, staff attentive to requests. We would stay here again if we came back. Debated staying at Sairee Beach to be closer but was quiet and convenient where we were and had everything we needed. Occasional noises at night which you'd expect but nothing to be concerned about, overall very quiet spot! Thank you to all of the staff especially Jed!

Kind of a nice place, but...”
hard to say... maybe the room and the balcony
everything looks kind of nice on the pictures as well as in real life, but whenever you take a closer look it is not. The room is spacious and the furniture is pretty new and well looked after. There is a working safe, TV + DVD and fridge. The appartment is also in the middle of things in Mae Haad, which is nice but loud at times. The music down the road gets turned down at 11 pm which was fine for us, might disturb others. The balcony is awesome. But the toilet smells like a sewer, the shower is hardly providing enough water to use it, especially when the guests in the second appartemt use it at the same time, it is just single drops coming out of it. When you look closer it is not all that clean, spiderwebs everywhere and the bathroom is sort of scruffy. The WIFI was working 2 hours out of 3 nights. And don't try to extend your stay the owner will take your money and than he probably kicks you out the day your booked stay ends. He returns the money though. anyways he was told all the flaws mentioned here and promised to take care of it immediately which he just did not. His staff is hard to talk to since none of them speaks english all that well. As a summery we would have stayed there another two nights just because it would have been convenient, but I would never ever book this place again.

glad I found this place”
location, room, bed
Really enjoyed this place - the Cafe Del Sol is a very good restaurant right in the middle of Sairee, about 2 minutes from the port. They seem to have two guestrooms upstairs across the street - the rooms are very large and clean, and have fabulous outdoor patios. I loved this place, it would be a great and affordable place to use as your 'crash pad' for koh tao. By the way, if you are in reasonable shape, you can just walk to all the southern island beaches - typically 30 -45 minute hikes, good exercise. Personally I wouldn't rent a bike or a quad, you see plenty of kids leaving koh tao all banged up from bike accidents. Do the island as a pedestian, avoid crashing, and get some exercise instead :)

Not as advertised”
Clean room, good bed, tv
The wifi never worked. It was difficult to get help from any staff because they were always too busy running the restaurant. They gave me the right wifi password, and it still never worked at all. I had to go somewhere else for internet. Also, there was a huge party right uder the apartment that lasted all night, sleep was impossible, it was quite ridiculous.

Fantastic Guesthouse accommodation in Mae Haad”
Good air con and wi-fi. Location suited me beautifully.
This guesthouse consists of only 2 available rooms above a shop front in Mae Haad on Koh Tao. Fantastic space with queen bed in main area, good air-con and a fan, long wall desk, great wi-fi, small fridge, TV/DVD player, wardrobe (with safe), a bunk (2 single beds, stacked) in an alcove and bathroom. And a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the street (also has drying rack for swimming gear on balcony). Relatively new so still in good condition. Being in center of 'town' a bit noisy in the evenings with jazz from a nearby bar and general street traffic, no nightclubs or other loud intrusive noise into early morning (I didn't find the general hum of noise was a problem with trying to sleep). It was a great spot for what I needed, which was somewhere close to Crystal to relax and sleep after a day's diving. All in all was very happy with Cafe del Sol Guesthouse.
