Very nice quiet cottage ”
Just outside Nuwara Eliya. Need a car to get there. A large cottage with loft, very nice decoration, TV with all channels you could wish for. WiFi in the room (during our stay it did not work so well due to raining). Good restaurant and very good breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice setting in a little garden overlooking a lake.Really nothing to complain about.

Great Lake View”
The location of the hotel is just perfectly built beside the lake Gregory. Nice garden, nice house and nice staff. The manager is so nice to us who offer free tea set to us as this is our honeymoon trip. The house is very beautiful and comfortable. Free wifi is provided nearby the restaurant and so I can take some photos of the beautiful lake and upload it to my facebook immediately. But hot water is limited supply while boiling time is needed when it's all used. And no one is served in midnight at reception, you will have to find manager's room and wake him up for help :)

Fantastic Location and Food , huge rooms , staff poor”
The location is the best in Nuwara Eliya, the Chalets ate massive double storeyed and clean. The floors creak a bit but that's manageable. The food is good, especially the pizza. The staff however leaves a lot to be desired. Especially the chef who has an ego the size of an elephant. Prices are value for money and id stay there again if I happen to visit the place .

Great location; Very friendly & thoughtful staff!”
Throughly enjoyed our stay, Special mention goes to staff who took the intiative to pack our breakfast as we had to set off at 6am for Horton Plains treking(they even packed some fruits and drinks to hydrate ourselves for the trek). A beatiful place to relax. The weather was superb too..it reaches around 11 deg at night and about 20 deg in the day time. And not to forget, the restrooms are spacious and kept very clean. And the beds are just so comforting to sleep on after a long day. A must stay hotel in Nuewara Eliya! Will be definitely going back again!!!

Family Gateway ”
Our intention was to have break from the city life Colombo, work, regular routing things and activities in life. We wanted to free mind from stress. I came with my wife two kids. Time only for us, kind of a thing. Kids loved the place. Garden open space to run freely and they loved the trees and flowers in the garden. Hotel right next to the hotel lake Gregory and very nice walking area & running tracks, boat rides, etc., Hotel meals were good and tasty. Couldn't complain any. also the staff service is good. Pleasant welcome receive during our stay for 3 days.

the place is really nice. has a beautiful view of the gregory lake. room is nice. well cleaned. but the wood floor make noice when walk. u also can here the floor noice in next room as well. the heater is not sufficient for heat the room. breakfast is delicious and we ordered pizza to dinner and that also good. u can enjoy the nice view. worth for price

Good accommodation, great setting”
This was my first time using Agoda and I am most impressed with how well it all worked. The Governors chalets are situated right on the Gregory Lake with the most stunning views. The chalets look a little dated from the outside, needing some staining on the wood cladding. Inside they are quite comfortable and reasonably well equipped, although the bathroom looked somewhat in need of attention and the taps were loose. The staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was average, but maybe not really worth the fairly high price. Worth a visit, but maybe eat in the town.

Beautiful chalet and amazing location. Loved every bit of our stay. The staff were cordial too. They tweaked breakfast options for us to suit our vegetarian palate. We had a wonderful stay in Calamander.

Short relax stay in nuwara eliayh”
Stayed there for only one night to relax some time between our stopps kandy and tangalle. As Nuwara E. is not a quiete beautiful city, we decided to enjoy a massage in the city and then keep on relaxing at the Chalet. Its really nice located at the lake and the Chalet pretend some Nice atmosphere of an Chalet in the europeans alps. Nice, large rooms, clean bathroom and luxury furniture. Breakfast was ok, we also tried dinner but it was terrible just like the whole restaurant. But for relaxing for one or two nights this Hotel is a very good opportunity.

Good stay.. but wouldn't come back”
I wouldn't say it was a bad stay.. but it wasn't perfect either. . thier restaurant is not up to what was expected and had to eat else where NO INTERNET IN THE ROOM AS THEY CLAIM... to use Internet u hace to go to the front desk/ restaurant. . the lawn has 7,8 dogs which will bark all night long .. I wouldn't say it was bad.. but for the same price I have better options in Nuwara Eliya

A log cabin experience with a spectacular view!”
If you ever want to experience a cozy family stay up in the mountains, then this is the place to for you! A breathtaking view of Lake Gregory and well manicured gardens, giving you a mix of the mountain and countryside experience. Very friendly and receptive staff which is typical of Sri Lankan hospitality. The only area for improvement would be the washrooms, as it is rather old and not very clean and the lighting wasn’t uniform throughout the chalet. Some bulbs weren’t even working.

Excellent location, well designed rooms”
The location of the resort is magnificient, with spectacular views of the lake and the city. The chalets are clean, well designed and spacious. There were however a few recommendations that could make this a fabulous place to stay. Firstly, the noisy wooden flooring that creaks when you walk. It is highly disturbing. Secondly, the food spread for vegetarians is very very limited. Lastly, the resort could do well with some more staff. They have a very limited staff that have to attend to a lot of things, which in turn cause a delay for house keeping/ room service.

lovely comfy chalets in a lovely location”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Governor's Chalet bordering the Gregory Lake in Nuwareliya. The rooms were very comfy and well heated but the only neg point was that the hot water wasn't available always. Food was good and we would reccomend it for a great holiday.

A great little spot right on the lake! The only place on the water actually and was perfect for our 2 night stay! FYI plenty of mosquitos at night, only enough hot water for one person before having to let it re-heat! Apart from that, the staff and brekky were perfect! :)

not quite what we were expecting - individual modern log cabins (six or eight in total?), nothing colonial as suggested by the hotel name. set in a large garden by the side of lake gregory but spacious and well equipped. small but friendly cafe / restaurant which contains the reception area. food and service are good and not expensive.

Amazing view”
It is perfectly located at the bank of lake. Room arrangement is perfect for a family. Beautiful garden with outdoor sitting. Close to tourist places. Breakfast can be improved, very limited choice. Food should be covered while delivering to room. Flooring in the room requires carpet cover because wooden flooring makes too much noise.
