Great family run hotel ”
The lady at reception is very kind and helpful, she helped with all our tour and bus bookings, even walked us to our taxi. The standard double room is basic but very clean and tidy. Includes ensuite, TV, fan and air-con. Great location close to the lake and puppet theatre, would highly recommend to anyone staying in Hanoi.

Great family, excellent location, top notch tours!”
I wanted to stay somewhere with kind people who could help me book some reliable tours. Camellia is a family-run hotel, and I felt that Phuong and her family definitely took care of us! Phuong was very responsive even 1 month before our reservation date. When I was deciding how many plans to lock in ahead of time, Phuong assured me she would help me book trips when I arrived at her hotel. Our first morning in Vietnam, she spent over an hour with us, building our trust and discussing our interests and concerns. Our first day trip to Tam Coc was great! Trang, our guide, gave us a real portrayal of life in the area. The success of this trip made me trust what else Phuong put together for us. On our way to Sapa trekking now! In addition to being a trustworthy de-facto travel agent for us, Phuong also did a great job running the hotel. Camellia was clean, comfortable, and safe. Hotel doors were barred at night, but when we woke up early to catch a 6am breakfast, Phuongs husband was quick to hear us in the lobby and open the lock. Lastly, Phuong had expressed to us that she wants her kids to learn English, so she encourages them to engage with guests. Her littlest kid had fun playing with our hydration packs, as she hadnt seen one before. The little interactions like this made our stay at Camellia all the more memorable!

Good value for money, great location, friendly staff”
Of course this hotel is not of luxury, only has basic amenities available. But I get more than the amount of money spent. On the first day, my room was overbooked and I got bigger deluxe room with no additional charge. The location is very close to Hoan Kiem Lake, weekend night market and Ta Hien Corner. Getting around old quarter is easy. The staff, especially the owner, is very friendly and kind. She and her husband gave me valuable insight, offer me the best tour (Trang An, Halong bay, Tam coc, all is incredible), and even gave me very good rate in currency exchange. And pick up/drop off to and from airport is cheaper than standard price. Very recommended

Very nice ”
Right in the busy part of town but tucked away down a side street so really helps to reduce the chaotic traffic noise from the main streets (we were on the 5th floor so that helped too! - no elevator though so be prepared to work those glutes!) Seemed like a family-run business - very friendly and helpful, spoke good English. Rooms were cleaned every day , very happy with the level of service here. Only bad thing was the size of bathroom - the toilet is so close to wall there’s no room for your legs, had to sit sideways! Apart from that, room was nice - good value for money. Would happily stay here again.

Cheap but not so good”
It's located at a byway, a bit hard to find. But it's near restaurants and Main Street. No elevator and the stairway is extremely narrow. Hard to carry the suitcase. Room is very tiny and not so clean. So if you have enough money get a better place. There are plenty of good choices in the neighborhood.

In the old quarter. Room on the fifth floor with balcony was okay but they didnt serve breakfast which made the room a bit too expensive. I assumed the price included breakfast..

Very friendly owner”
The owners of Camellia Hotel 6 are exceptional friendly, which cannot be found every where in Hanoi. The photos of the listing let expect a bit more than the reality, but still, the front rooms are spacious, with balcony and clean and have all the amenities you need. A little recommendation for improvement would be to have a safety box in the room (I know, this is still not that common in Hanoi).

In the heart of Old Town, but hotel require some maintenance!!”
The hotel location is perfect, located in the old quarter of Hanoi. We booked a standard room. The hotel rooms require a bit of maintenance e.g. Painting and some new bedding. The hotel is 5 storeys and do not have a lift. The wifi is very poor and only works on the bottom floor. Overall, we will recommend this hotel to budget travelers and if you want to stay in the center of the old quarter!!

above and beyond helpful”
the place was prime location, on a walking street in old quarter heart so quieter than most areas but easy access to the lake and beer corner. the owner is also unbelievably helpful. did all our bookings with great recommendations. we went to sapa and she offered for us to keep larger luggage at her place and we could come back and freshen up there. also one of our train tickets was a reservation sheet and when we got off the bus from sapa she was there waiting for us with the boarding pass because she didnt want us to have an issues. so nice and we were blown away with how helpful she was.

Lovely staff. We only stopped between cities and slept there. Had asked for a double bed but they gave us twins. So then downgraded us to have a double. No window. In a back lane without the horns.

Perfect location great staff. ”
Although they had double booked our reservation they were able to ensure we had a room in their Camellia 4 hotel. The gentleman from the hotel walked with us to make sure we found it okay. The lady also gave us a free breakfast to compensate; we were happy with this solution. The room was clean and spacious with a nice balcony. The hotel in located almost right in the centre of the old quarter but set back off a small side street which meant we were not affected by any noise (unlike camellia 4).

Amazing staff and perfect location”
We stayed here when we arrived in Vietnam and again after our trip to cat ba island. The rooms are as advertised a little on small side and somewhat older but perfectly fine for a couple nights. The location is on a quieter little alley but in the heart of the city. The main reason you want to stay here is because of the amazing lady who runs the place Phuong. She went above and beyond when helping us arrange a trip to and from cat ba island and finding us a way to get to Hue during the Tet holiday when everything was booked. She speaks English very well and always had good recommendations on what to do and see in Hanoi. Overall great experience and would highly recommend if you are only in Hanoi for a few days
