Perfect place to catch Sunset in Camotes”
The place is a bit far from the port but the 30-45mins habal habal ride was all worth it. If you want privacy and catch the perfect sunset in Camotes, Flying Fish Resort is the best choice. I was very happy to witness the sun’s fiery kiss to the night. Customer Service was excellent. The owner of the resort personally assist in serving our dinner. All the staff were courteous and friendly especially Manang Josephine. The food was delicious and affordable. We use the kayak the next day for free. 😍
The resort is far away ( and i mean really far) from consuelo port and its a little expensive if you dont have your own car. But the place is awesomely peaceful making it condusive for r&r. They advertised free cave entrace but thats not true tho.
Fantastic Resort off the beaten path!”
Simply fantastic! The only downside was listening to a fellow Westerner complain about the lack of Internet. I have traveled all over the world, if you stay at remote places, expect the Internet to be slow. Better yet, don't expect it to work at all. I spent 4 days at Flying Fish and was to busy with all the activities available to worry about Internet! The ownership and staff are awesome and very accomidating. The snorkeling is great literally meters from the resort. The tour of the island was inexpensive and a great time was had by all 7 of us. One word of caution, the resort does not accept credit cards, so plan accordingly. Also, let them know what ferry you are taking in advance and they will pick you up. We forgot to do so and it cost us a little extra and some time lost. Lastly, I highly recommend Flying Fish and will definitely be back myself. Enjoy!
camotes flying fish review”
It was nice especially the sea breeze at night. Most of the guest left and we were by ouselves on weekday. Weekend seems to be packed , so, we got lucky we stayed on weekday. The food was great, the owner was very gracious. Kind enough to get us free dinner for one night. Thank you to her. Got to swim a lot by ourselves for the whole day.
relaxing in paradise with wonderful friendly staff”
Excellent and I couldn't speak highly enough of the staff and this beautiful resort , so friendly in a beautiful island paradise with lots of water sport options reasonably priced and amazing pristine waters to swim in at your leisure :,)
Beautiful location, lovely staff, comfortable room”
Staff were very friendly and went out of their way for us. The room was new and bed was comfortable. No wifi or cable due to a typhoon two weeks prior to our stay but staff gave us free rental of a DVD player. Room service was quick and food was nice. Would recommend and will stay again.
Beautiful place, friendly staff, but is 45 - 60 minutes away from other places”
We have been there before, we rented a van in Lapu-Lapu City and took the ferry over so we had our own transportation. If your looking for peaceful and quiet you'll be happy. Other places to eat and sight seeing require transportation. We were able to line up an island tour from the resort, that was a nice day.
My mom and I had a nice stay at Flying Fish! The resort was quiet, peaceful, and relaxing! The staff are nice and friendly. The place has no shoreline but its beach area is wonderful for snorkeling!
It’s 30-45 mins away from Consuelo port but if you wish to have a peaceful getaway, this place is what you’re looking for! This resort has an amazing view of the sunset and the staff are also great! Would love to come visit again :)
Idyllic and great cliff beach”
It's located on the far side of town so expect to drive about 45-60 minutes to get there. Best to bring a car when visiting Camotes. The beach was awesome. Mostly snorkeling and cliff jumping. No shores though. The room was spacious but we did have a local wildlife constantly getting inside the room, though. We had a grasshopper who shared our room with us and we named him Jiminy. Overall, it was great and it wasn't crowded. Price, ambiance, food, staff. Would go back there next time.
I would probably go back again!”
The hotel was far from the consuelo port, but it is near to the famous tourist spots like bulikat cave, buhisan falls, and lake danao. I recommend if you go there you must first rent a motorcycle. Don't even try to commute because it would take you forever to reach the place. I have stayed there and i loved the place. Sea view, fresh air, friendly staffs and great place! My partner and I enjoyed our stay there. The dogs are friendly too!
For one thing there’s no Internet also your 45 to 50 minutes from town and you have to rent a motorbike if you want to be do anything and the roads are full of potholes it’s dangerous to ride half the things on the menu that I ordered at the restaurant out of stock and they couldn’t get basic things that the stores in town like shaving cream . Prices were very high on everything they’re trying to gouge the foreigner in getting into the resort I felt like I was stuck in a role for National Geographic’s driving through the village people carrying stuff on there head the resort itself has no beach I would strongly suggest not going to this place
Peaceful, paradise location with helpful friendly staff and nice facilities.”
My wife and I got married at this resort 2 years ago and were delighted to see it it's pretty much the same. Although this resort is further from the port than others, it is really worth the extra travel if youre looking for a peaceful stay surrounded by nature. The rooms were very comfortable, the food is excellent and reasonably priced, and the welcoming staff are outstanding. It's true that there is no WiFi there but that's not a big deal. The location is great for snorkelling right at the resort.
Nice for a week end getaway”
The resort is quite far from the city or any other facilities like restaurants and bars. There is no beach in the resort itself but one a bit further. There are hamocks and tables to chill outside. The room was clean and spacious. The only bad point was the shower with very little pressure. The staff was nice and the food was good, not too expansive.
Beautiful resort and lovely stuff”
The resort was awesome, you could stay in a high quality place with a not so high budget, as it was a lot cheaper than some other resorts in the island. The only con for some people is the location as it is not in San Francisco but Poro Island. Still, you can find really good caves and beaches and one of the best spots in the islands, buho rock. From Poro port, it takes only 25minutes to the hotel, and in Poro they have the only direct ferry from Cebu, so in fact the location is not a problem. The food was really good, we enjoyed a lot the breakfast and some dishes like the curry or calamari. Also, you can take the kayak for free to go around, and one of the non-touristic caves is less than 5mins walk. We would repeat for sure
serene, quiet, very private, nice view especially during the night. nice for star gazing and moon watching. if you can also chance to see fireflies around the trees, that is really very admirable. the sea is calm and inviting. when swimming, you can also watch different kinds of fish.
We really liked our stay”
We really liked our stay at flying fish. you can do some snorkeling next to the rocks. The rooms were clean and the most of the stuff was nice. tasty coconut shakes. No wifi, but that's okay if you can handle it for some days.
We had a grand time in the resort. The children especially enjoyed the rowboat and kayak rides. ”
It's a quiet and quaint resort. We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff and the owner were both accommodating and friendly. We booked the family room, and it was big and spacious. We had 2 kids with us and they enjoyed playing tag and hide-n-seek. There was a floating nipa hut just a few distance away and we took a rowboat to get there. We enjoyed the view of the resort, the fish underwater and the jellyfish. Did I tell you about the jellyfish? --- wow! Huge and purple!
Not what I expected...”
Very remote... Only can get there by Motorcycle and its a 45 min ride from the nearest port... Once you are there the view and property is nice. Staff is also fine. It was quite disappointing that there WIFI was not working at all and the data on cell is bad because of the remote site. This can be a good thing if you wish to disconnect. But for me I could not. So I shortened my stay to only a day since i was already there... and it wasn't easy.... The also told me that there internet hasn't been working for over a year... not cool. They should take if off the agoda site thatchy provide wifi. The room was fine... the view is great and we were the only ones at the resort. The food was satisfactory.... but you do not have a choice to eat elsewhere due to the location.... For me, Santiago Bay is a much better choice... closer to get to with a better beach and wifi... and slightly less money :) Overall a nice property. Just wifi really bummed me out. and tough to get to :)
For a place to get away from it all, you won't find better. The rocky coral beachfront adds to the attraction of this resort. It's wonderful the watch the sunsets from the beachfront cottages. Thanks to all staff for making our stay a special one.
