We can thoroughly recommend the Campanile in Wakefield. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were friendly and most helpful. The evening meal and breakfast we had were well cooked and presented and excellent value for money. We have stayed there several times before and would do so again without hesitation.

We do take pride in the cleanliness of our rooms and our shower curtains are cleaned and changed regularly. I believe this was an isolated incident but I have re-iterated to my Housekeeper to ensure attention to detail is maintained so such issues are not missed at any time. I am very proud of my friendly and efficient team at reception, but I have shared your comments with the team. Your dates of stay are not clear and so it is difficult for me to establish who was the receptionist on duty at the time. I do hope you will consider staying again the future. Hard to find”
Very difficult to find the hotel even when driving on Monckton Road (and thus already inside the business park). Clear direction signs needed at the estate's road junctions. No illuminated 'Campanile' signs on the building either, which partly explains why I couldn't find it in the dark. The hotel telephone was unanswered when I rang for directions - surely it should have been diverted to the mobile phone carried by the night service minder? The Freeview tv in my bedroom lacked many of the standard tv channels, and all the radio programmes. However it included an accurate clock (thank you) which should be the norm in hotel rooms - but elsewhere it isn't. Otherwise comfortable and clean. Standard Campanile architecture, which I rather like.

Clean room with all the facilities of a more expensive hotel. Really good value for money. Had dinner which was good and filling. Quite location to say it is located on an industrial park. Would certainly use again if in the area

Dear guest, thank you for your feedback which is very important to us. I am sorry that you were disappointed with some aspects of your stay. We do indeed have internet which should have been available to you. With regard to sockets, when the hotel was built as a budget style hotel the requirement for sockets was a lot less than the demand now for the use of mobiles, tablets and other mobile devices. We are however reviewing this and installing new sockets as part of a soft refurbishment rolling program. We do believe that we offer a great value breakfast which includes drinks , continental and a great full English. Comparatively other competitors usually charge separately and the costs can appear to be hidden. Our continental is just £6 and full English £9.75. We arrived late at night. We were given room 61, it had everything we needed , hairdryer, full length mirror, kettle, tv. We went to bed, the bed was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept in. Springs sticking in and making noise whenever we moved. Stains up the walls and on the mattress protector, When asked in the morning how the room was, we said great, apart from the bed, we were offered another room and given the key to have a look. The bed was far better so we moved rooms, only to find later, no hairdryer, no full length mirror, a wardrobe light that didn’t work, the kettle plugged in to the only plug socket and a cracked sink in the bathroom. No big deal as we were out all day and the bed was comfortable at leat, though no mattress protector on this one. Outside of the rooms, there are so many cobwebs and spiders, and spiders eggs which don’t seem to be cleared, when we left the room in the morning, we were walking into webs...

I am sorry that although you were moved to a room with a good Hypnos bed that you still experienced some disappointments at the hotel. We do regularly ensure that the external corridors are cleared of webs etc. especially with the location being close to a canal and trees etc. which do attract insects etc. at this time of year. I have however raised this matter with my housekeeping team to provide extra attention to this to ensure that there is no build up at any time. We are refurbishing our bedrooms on a rolling program of soft refurbishment. The quality has deteriorated from our first stay last year. The heater in the bathroom was broken and though we complained, no one came to fix it. Free WiFi was advertised on the booking but when I asked for the access, I was told it’s £6 for the duration of the stay and free WiFi only provided through direct booking with the hotel. Will not recommend unless all this is fixed.

We continue to improve the hotel and throughout last year continued with our soft refurbishment program and have completed 30 rooms to date. Although the hotel is budget and motel in style, we do take pride in the cleanliness of our rooms and am sorry that you found evidence of damp/mould . I believe this was an isolated incident but since then have had all the rooms reviewed to ensure that there is not an ongoing issue and also re-iterated to my housekeeping team in relation to attention to detail in order not to miss such an issue in the future. We are indeed replacing all our beds as part of an on going rolling program of soft refurbishment and 30 rooms are now complete with new fantastic Hypnos beds. when you are at the facility in person asking for price to pay there and then it is always cheaper to go online and book through a choice of a million other middle men??? How can this be but that is the world we live in so basically if you happen to get a day where it is reasonably priced,(for what ever reason) it is an ok decent place ok priced to stay but other days it could be by 10 to 15 pounds and then it would be no great shakes or anything to write home about son to speak.

Very nice staff. Very clean but basic. Warm and enjoyable breakfast. Although no facilities at the hotel to occupy children, only five minutes walk to plenty of activities.. Thorne's Park and Puneys.. We enjoyed the whole weekend.. A bonus..12 o'clock checkout. . THANKYOU

It was a horrible stay.. first it’s a motel. Second the hair dryer caught fire which l had to deal with as reception was to far away Third went in for a shower and the grim by the soap dispenser was foul. And the crack in the basin going the length of it. Lean on it and would break. When reported the hair dryer issue to reception I was told “what do you expect from a French company!!!” Don’t use this motel use the Travelodge at least they will listen and refund if you not happy this motel will not

The room was dirty and the toilet didn't work. I reported it to reception and was advised that the maintenance man isn't due until the next morning. I had to use the toilet at reception (which closed at the evening and reopened 9am next morning).
