Great and cheap stay close to Downtown Amman
The hotel was very clean and the people there very friendly and eager to help. The part of Amman where the hotel is, is perfect for a stay in the city. Even if it's very close to Downtown (around 30 min by foot) and Jabal al-Hussein (great for shopping!) it's surprinsingly quiet and safe at night. Right around the hotel are also the most necessary things for travellers like small supermarkets, ATMs and restaurants. Also a mosque is nearby, so that you can hear the prayer call when staying in the hotel (a must have in Jordan!). The people of the hotel were always friendly and offered their help. It was really a great stay in the Canary Hotel and when travelling to Jordan again I will definitely stay there again.

Convenient and inexpensive
Cheap, convenient to JETT bus station, helpful staff
The Canary Hotel is located just a few minutes walk (but up a very steep hill) from the old Abdali Bus Station which is now used as a parking lot. I was traveling to the King Hussein Bridge in order to cross into Israel, and the JETT bus station was a ten minute walk away. The old center of Amman (Roman Theater, etc.) is a 20-30 minute walk down hill. There is not too much in terms of things to do and dining choices near the Canary. The rooms are very basic with ensuite bathroom, cable TV, a floor fan (no AC), and free wifi. If you are looking for a very inexpensive place to stay for a night in order to be close to the JETT bus station, Canary is a good choice. The staff helped with my luggage and directions.

Worth the money
Calm but central location
The canary hotel is located in the Jabbel el Webde neighbourhood with its many bars and cafes. In addition, in very close distance to Downtown Amman. The hotel and room standard are rather simple, the best times of this hotel seem to be over, although we had a very nice stay there. Absolutely friendly and helpful stuff and should be hard to find anything better in this range of money.

very bad experience and worst hotel ever
I am writing this review for the second time as my first submission was failed due to some internet connection error. I still put my energy to write this commentary just to ensure that my experience will be noted whenever anyone is considering their stay at this hotel. First of all, the hotel is not as close to the JETT bus station as we thought. The hotel is 5 minutes walking distance from Abdali Bus Station not JETT bus station, which is another 1 km away and is not considered as walking distance. There is no restaurants or supermarket nearby. The closest place for eat is a kebab place which is 10 minutes of walk. Secondly, no taxi driver is able to locate this hotel. We gave the address to local taxi driver, for two nights in a row (and by two differen taxi drivers), they are not able to find it. They have to stop many times on the way to ask different people to reach the hotel, which took us 30 minutes from the downtown. We tried calling the reception but no one pick up the call. The room is extremely dirty and in poor condition. Lights were dim, No air condition. The toliet is basic if not unacceptable. There were a lot of mosquito. The blankets are horrifying and made us afraid of touching it. You must bring along a sleeping bag if you stay there. Even we stayed two nights, they won't clean up our room. The most dreadful of all is that at 4:00 a.m., one will be waken up by mid-night call to prayer, (i am not sure if this is the case for other hotels in Amman since it's a muslim country), basically you cannot sleep properly. I am a frequent traveller and has tried a variety of budget hotel, this is definitely the worst of the worst.

A nice enough hotel, but not for me.
Polite staff, balcony, closet space
The Canary is a nice hotel: clean, spacious rooms, timely breakfast, etc. However, I personally prefer to stay in the thick of things, in city centres. The Canary is tucked away in a lane a 20 minute walk from the centre. So this may work for you if you are a light sleeper and can't handle traffic noise at night.

Not very nice - definitely budget
Price, location to jett bus terminal
Not good - they didn't have out booking properly recorded and weren't expecting us even though we had prepaid through agoda, the shower was cold and the room was pretty dire - the light globe didn't turns off fully and would flash intermittently when the light was off. We would never want to stay here again, it is a depressing hotel - there must be better options out there

Not more than one star hotel
with friendly staff
Not more than one star hotel 10 min. drive from down town. After all this was enough just for one night sleep between changing city. Helpfull stuff.
