Great stay, so impressed”
So impressed in so many ways. Small boutique hotel in Fukuoka. Loved the chandeliers in the cozy lobby and loved being given a canal side room. Large room for Japan and perfect layout. Loved the special gift every day (for the ladies) and staff were kind and helpful in every respect. Will definitely frequent a Candeo Hotel again in future should the opportunity arise. Thank you Hakata Terrace!
I LOVE IT!”
I've stayed in quite a few hotels in Fukuoka and I will admit I really enjoyed my stay at the Candeo Hotels The Hakata Terrace. The room was bigger than the typical Japanese size room, and so clean! The view was amazing, and I will be back. Honestly I think this is my favorite hotel in Fukuoka so far!
We just checked out on 6th Dec 2019, even though a walk from Hakata Station took approximately 15-20 minuets, but sceneries along the streets truly display the authentic of Japan life. We stayed 5 nights at Candeo Hotels The Hakata Terrace, hotel staffs show their professionalism. A special thanks to Eri San, Haruna San & all the front desk team.
Mr. Koh eng seng Thank you very much for your feedback and message. We are glad to know that you enjoyed staying in Fukuoka. We were also happy to have your family and it was thankful that you spent time with us for your special anniversary. I am looking forward to seeing all of your family members again! Merry Christmas and happy holidays! Eri, Haruna The Front desk.
Beautiful River view Room”
The Hotel is located just at the river opposite of the canal city. The rooms are very spacious with a sofa in front of the top to bottom window to enjoy the view. Service is friendly enough, even-though they didn't let me check in at 1pm when it was raining but I had to wait till 3pm for checkintime (even room is ready), they agreed to give me a room with river-view instead of city view which is probably the better deal :) If back in Hakata I would definitively stay here again. The rooms are so comfortable
Stylish hotel with river views”
Modern stylish room with large windows and a panoramic view of the river. Great location. Easy walking distance to the station and lively Tenjin area and just across the bridge from Canal City, with 250 shops/restaurants. Staff delightful - very helpful. Although no restaurant, delicious Bento box breakfast included in the price and room service available from the excellent bar adjacent to the hotel. Great wine bar next door as well. Bathroom included large bathtub, with free bath salts. Highly recommended.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! Thank you for your kind comments on our staff service--we have been working very hard on improving it. And we are also glad to hear you enjoyed our facilities and our location. We are quite proud of both. We hope you'll consider Candeo Hotels for future stays as well! Best regards, Candeo Hotels THE HAKATA TERRACE
An exquisite hotel by the river ”
The room is so spacious by Japanese standard and we have a big couch facing the river as well. Staffs are also very friendly there too. The only downside is the location where it takes at least 20 mins to walk from either the Hakata or Tenjin station. So a short taxi ride may be required sometimes.
Far from downtown ”
The location of this hotel is not so good for traveling of city. But, room condition is much better than other hotels near by hakata station or tenjin. If you love to walk, the location is not so bad.
In the city centre ”
The hotel itself is very stylish, the surrounding area has many hip restaurants and bars (and love hotels...). The Canal City Mall is just in the opposite, shoppers and gourmet eaters' paradise! At night along the riverside there are many stall food, and which is the icon of Hakata city. Room itself is good enough, I booked a river view. It was romantic. Oh I shall go again with my husband alone, not going together with my daughter (haha)!
To stay in candeo hotel was the best choice!!!”
The room was big and clean compare with other tiny and old japanese hotels, so it it very comfortable to stay with a baby. And the price was also so reasonable. The clerks were so kind and nice. If I have a chance to visit fukuoka again, I am strongly willing to stay here again!!
Spacious room and expanded window view”
Our stay in Candeo Hotel was wonderful. Comparing to Forza hotel, which we stayed for another four nights, this one is much more spacious. It even has a huge sofa bed facing the river view. It was pleasant reading newspaper and eating my simple breakfast sitting on that sofa. Unlike Forza in which we needed to do everything on the bed, We've got a writing table, too. But Forza has the best lighting for sure. TV screen is big. The VOD selection is by far the best during our two week trip. It's free and has good selections. We were able to relax in the room because it felt more like a private apartment without a kitchen.
Attentive staff with world class service ”
The five days stay was pleasant.. Upon reaching the hotel, hotel staff is friendly and check-in process is fast. Room is clean and spacious. Bed is comfortable and big. The room come with a dressing table and sofa/table, hard to find in Japan hotel. It is value for money for the price you pay for the hotel. There are convenience stores and ramen store nearby the hotel. Canal city is within walking distance from the hotel. But subway station is a bit far from the hotel.
fantastic hotel where I wanna stay again”
Fantastic hotel. The room is comparably big as a Japanese hotel. Big bed, nice sofa with a small massage machine. The bathroom looks nice and is well equipped with a good quality amenity. The neighborhood is very quite and 7 eleven is just around. Just cross a short bridge, there is Canal City with restaurants and shops. The hotel is along a river so the view is very beautiful in the day time and at night. The restaurant at the ground floor is economical(not expensive like other hotels room services). However, there is no international channel on TV even though there are some free movies. And you need to walk 5 to 8mins to take a bus or subway. I can't tell the staffs are the best compared with other hotels in Japan. I couldn't print a paper even though there was a printer at reception. The last tip, about 2000 yen by taxi to the airport.
Romantic Getaway & Bithday”
Overall we had a nice stay at this hotel. We didn't get to eat at th restaurants but will do so the next time. The staff was remarkable and even have me a birthday present. I think I will pay even more for the best room they have next time so we can get a terrace too.
We stay in the hotel for two times in our trip. The room is big, clean and comfort. The room with terrace is extremely nice. The kids having fun exploring the room.
A recommended hotel for travelers looking for a comfortable but less crowded stay”
We stay in the terrace room. Our kids love it. It’s spacious and clean. The kids love the bathroom so much. It’s great for family. The bed is large enough for 4 of us. The sofa is a good place to relax. The only draw back is it’s a bit far away from the city center, but we are fine with it as we drive. There are a lot of restaurants nearby and the walk to Canal City is reasonable.
Fabulous hotel and exceptional hotel staff”
I highly recommend this hotel, it is coveniently located, has a nice view of the river and the hotel staff are very very very courteous and accommodating. I will definitely stay in this hotel again when i go back to Fukuoka!!!
Big rooms and very comfortable. ”
It was great. We were only there for one night but wished that it could have been longer as it was the best hotel on our trip so far. The room size was decent and everyhing was clean and nicely presented. The staff were friendly and took out luggage to our rooms for us (as we arrived before check in and left our stuff in storage). The complimentary drinks included Assam tea (regular western tea) which not a lot of hotels offer. Would definitely recommend
Newish boutique hotel”
The hotel is about a 10 min walk across the canal to the huge Canal City complex. It is not that close to the main Tenjin shopping area however, although not more than a 15-20 min walk (which in freezing winter temperatures is a long walk though). The room I was in was tiny, and in hindsight I would have paid more for a slightly larger room. A more comprehensive review on TripAdvisor.
It's satisfied but not bad”
I was quite embarrassed with small size of hotel compared with similar grade hotels in Tokyo. Even i visited wrong hotel which i was canceled and then find the right hotel where i registered Candeo. The before one is much bigger and looks more hotel with similar price. Candeo is like motel in Korea. But hoteliers are kinds. The most embarrassed one was noisy singing from restaurant in 2nd fl. was continued over 11pm. We do not understand how those kinds of things are happened. It is quite good conditions for couples who want to play around but i do not recommend this hotel for family.
The staff is nice and friendly. It would be great if we could get the room facing the river side. We were a bit disappointed as we thought we could have riverside room as we booked the room half an year ago. The hotel is not near JR Hakata station but still within walking distance (around 20 mins walk). There are a lot of paid parking lots nearby, around 1000 to 1500 per night, not cheap though but convenient. An elegant and spacious shopping mall Canal City is just nearby. There are also nice some 屋台 (outside dinning places) nearby. The vibe there is great. The small restaurant in the hotel is no longer open for business. It would be great if residents can have breakfast there.
