4.5 ⭐️”
The hotel is beautiful and the perfect location. We had a family 2 bedroom suite and it was perfect for our two young kids. The location of the hotel is fantastic as they have cafes and restaurants just underneath, that don’t mind to bring the food up to your room for you after you place your order. There were two downsides to our stay; 1. There was load shedding on three different occasions and it usually lasts for 2 hrs which means you won’t have access to WiFi, light, or any electrical facilities for that period. However the lift will still work and WiFi was available in the lobby. 2. The roof top pool deck is gorgeous as it has panoramic views of the entire Cape Town from there but it’s too deep for kids which was a downside for us. The hotel staff were so helpful and nice it was an all round fantastic trip and will definitely stay there again on my next visit.

Great stay and location!”
Very central and a great apartment. One small issue and probably not relevant to the next traveller, our room had a funny smell to it that wouldn’t go away. I think it may have been cleaned with old rags or old detergent and the smell had settled in the bathroom and wouldn’t leave.

Location is fantastic ”
Visited Cape Town on many occasions. Cape Royale is a 10 min walk to V and A, 15 mins from CBD. Security is important in Cape Town and the Cape Royale is very safe and secure. 1 bedroom apts are well furnished if a little basic in furnishings, but the do have a comfy bed. 2 bedroom apts have significantly mor space and better standard of furnishings. Parking is very secure. No hotel bar but several bars and restaurants nearby.

A mix of good and not”
We checked in on my honeymoon into a 2 bedroom suite. We were complimented with a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of champagne which was generous. The location was Perfect as it was close to everything. Lots of cafes and restaurants walking distance from the hotel. A coffee place that’s attached to the hotel which was delightful. However, during my week long stay here. The apartment wasnt up to our expectations. The washing machine wasnt working at all as we could get the door to shut. The air-conditioner wasn’t working for a day and it got too hot for us to sleep that night. When asked, the reception said that the maintenance person will only be around in the morning. So, we had to stay and sweat through the night. The tv remote wasnt working as well for the first couple of days of my stay. Most of the experience was good. It was just these small little things that if sorted would be a perfect place to stay in.

Wonderful stay, pity we only stayed for one night. Staff member at reception, upon check in was not friendly at all. The hosts and lady who helped us when checking out was very friendly. The room itself was lovely, spacious and clean,no complaints whatsoever. Everything you need is there. It was windy out so we couldn't really enjoy the pool area, and there is no drinks available at the pool bar.

Cape Royale Luxury Suites”
Just to advise everyone, its reasonable place but its not a Hotel...its sort of Air BNB accommodation - managed by an agency...who do not have regular staff as you would expect from a Hotel. Otherwise, its good and spacious.

Disappointed”
My husband and I went on a night away together and stayed at the Cape Royale. As a 5 star rating, you walk in to a beautiful setting and expect that to carry through to the room, boy are you disappointed. The wifi was not even plugged in, nor would I get it to work. The shower fittings are rusting. The cupboards in the kitchen dont even close properly. The staff are poorly trained and act more as bouncers at the door than as someone who should be enviting guests to their hotel. This is not a hotel, it is more apartments that are individually owned and are rented out per night, dont be fooled.

Poor service”
Staff mostly watching their phone and unwilling to make reservation at restaurant. The only good service we received was from the doorman who was a real gentleman. The SPA-staff was a joke with no experience but to take your money. They “pretended” to massage you and couldn’t even put on nail polish.

Awesome venue, aweful service”
The hotel and room was amazing, just a pity that the manager, reservations and reception was absolutely useless. The room was not ready for check in at21:00 upon arrival, then more hours of waiting. The manager refused to call back after I left several messages. Reception said it's not their problem... Reservations... nothing further... What a disappointment... The bad service just spoilt a potentiality great experience...

Not worth a 5 star hotel”
Took a family suite in a 5star but staff, maintenance of infrastructure & professionalism was definitely missing. Though several complaints & waiting time, they just kept delaying & not delivering there promises. AC was not working & was apparently attended where they said it was sorted out 3 times. 1/2 of my holiday was already spoiled. Housekeeping not done & reached there late afternoon & could not use the facilities & basic stuff such as towel & even glasses to drink. I had to go down at the reception to convey how upset I was & after a very very long await. Then it was explained that it was sorted out & had to wait to feel the AC. It end result that i slept on the couch since it was 27c there & in the room 29! After a nap, someone knock at my door to let me know that finally i will move to another room. Had to pack up in a rush, take all the shopping i did, remove stuff frm fridge. Well though in new allocated room AC is working, remote ctrl wasn’t with a rubber tape on back!!

Amazing - unforgettable”
We spent 3 nights in a 2 bedroom front facing suite which included high tech equipped kitchen and large dining area. Just incredibly beautiful and special room which we'll never forget. Our stay will be also unforgettable for a very sad reason too - our friends who we were travelling with heard the very sad news on the first night at the Cape that their mum/nan had passed away back in the UK. The handling of this situation by all of the people we touched at the Cape was so sensitive, helpful and respectful and the whole team went a million extra miles. Sadick, the Concierge was an amazing host, was so very proud of the Cape Royale, it's rooms and achievements, incredibly helpful, utterly professional and knew his business inside out. The manager ( so sorry didn't write your name down) was visible lots, clearly cared and motivated his people. From Blessings announcing our names ( so special) through to our check in, bell boys, room & bar services through to us checking out, everyone was amazing. Thanks really so very much for making what was such a traumatic for our party better than we could have ever hoped for. Your hotel decor, ambiance, personal touch, insight and knowledge means we'll never forget our time with you. Great position and free of charge shuttle to V&A Waterfront just added even more to an experience we'll never forget. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts.

I really felt at home”
My very young children could tell that "we were being treated like a royal family". They liked the welcome and the gong. I was impressed with the quality of the rooms which were neat and clean and are excactly as shown on the internet. We enjoyed walking to the waterfront even though there was a shuttle available. 2 negatives perceptions that i had from reviews b4 my visit were about cold rooms and the deposit that didnt get returned. I am glad to comment that during my visit it was very cold and extra blankets were provided without us even requesting so i suppose the hotel responded. Unfortunately for the credit card problem i aslo became a victim and up to now (3 weeks later) my US$150 has not yet been returned despite numeral calls i have done to the hotel. I feel bad to even say anything negative about this otherwise very excellent hotel which i would still go and stay in again on my next visit to Cape Town.

Fantabulous”
Our stay at Cape Royale Luxury Hotel and Spa was just amazing. We were two families with 4 teenagers and 2 adult children, and each one of us enjoyed our stay immensely, to the extend that it put our site seeing plans in jeopardy (they would not want to leave the hotel). The rooms were superb and comfortable. Its just 7 mins from water front where you can shop and dine - till you drop.
