Centrally located - easy access to attractions”
Friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent with lot of choices. They serve only 'halal' food and no alcoholic beverages. The hotel is centrally located, close to Civic Centre (main terminal for MyCitiBus), Metrorail (Cape Town Train Station), Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), local bus terminal, walking distance to Castle of Good Hope, City Town Hall Building, V&A Waterfront. Free car park. Free wifi. Many eateries nearby. Overall, I was satisfied and thus I book another 2 nights after this stay. Value for money. Highly recommended.
Nice Hotel, pleasant front desk and buffet staff and porters drivers were phenomenal as well. the only change is to add just a few more items to breakfast menu like fried fish, pork sausage and bacon. In addition to that, the dinner menu should include the drinks within the prices and ice cream.
Pretty nice place to stay”
Love the hotel. Dining Staff is excellent and front desk staff. i would like more variety during breakfast like fried fish instead of baked fish also fried shrimp, fish and ice cream should be added for dinner buffet. The dinner buffet is better than breakfast buffet because of the variety. Also the drinks should be inclusive within the dinner buffet price which is too expensive not to include drinks.
Friendly staff, comfortable rooms”
Everything was superb. The only thing that I would change is to have a more consistent breakfast buffet. I know you can't serve pork but i would have liked pork bacon and sausage. I would have liked fried fish to go with my potatoes instead of baked fish. Still loved the experience, would stay again for sure.
Great Business hotel - with effecient staff”
From the point of getting out of your car - staff there to collect your luggage. The receptionist is very effecient regarding your check-in. Your luggage is taken to your room and you are shown all the gagets in your room. Rooms are big and have all the necessary gagets that are needed. The breakfasts are great as well as the dinners. But you cant have wine on the one floor as its hallal. Great stay will definately stay there again.
Hotel with great location and good breakfast”
the hotel looks a little old, but it's good enough for me. my room is huge and clean, and has a good view of the table mountain. the staffs are friendly and efficient. occasionally a colourful and friendly parrot appears in the lobby, to the amusement of guests. the free breakfast is great, with a decent selection of asian and european dishes. the hotel is great for those who takes the myciti bus to/from the airport (only a 3 minute walk between the hotel and the bus stop). the hotel is also close to cape town international conference centre (cticc) where you can catch the red sightseeing bus to various attractions in cape town.
Very convenient location for business travel to a conference: right in the centre of Cape Town, walking distance to the Convention centre. Amenities are fine, hotel was under reconstruction when I stayed there (April 2010), business office fully functional and staff relatively helpful. Wifi in the rooms. Neighborhood is safe during the day, plenty of parking.
I especially love the proximity to V&A Waterfront, making it so convenient to get about when we feel like drinking. The hotel can maybe re-furbish the rooms. We had a queen size bed, which was a tight squeeze, resulting in me not sleeping very well. But I especially love the stable wifi, it is hard to come by. The staff were helpful, which made the stay rather pleasant. And they have free parking right at the door step! Yay! The do have quite a selection for buffet breakfast, which was quiet welcoming for me, since all guest houses only serve the same old English breakfast. But, coffee wasn't fresh as each table have their own pot of coffee, the coffee was sour when we went down for late breakfast.
Warm and friendly staff impresses”
We had a wonderful time. Room was immaculate although could do with slight modernizing but this could be part of the hotel's charm. Warm and friendly staff. I left a piece of gold jewellery behind after check-out and the staff member rushed down to return the very sentimental item. My greatest thanks to her.
I will be back !!! I hope to return with my son”
Simply the best - Didn't miss NO PORK in mornings. Capetonian made up with inventive beef, chickpeas and other exciting dishes. Once again great work and wonderful employees at your hotel can only make for a wonderful holiday in the Cape.
when i learned that the hotel was in the city centre and not being too familiar with Capetown,i was a little put off, expecting a city centre that was more or less to whta i am used to in Johannesburg, but my sistre persuaded me to book the hotel and i was pleasantluy suprised to find that cape town city centre is immaculately clean, which makes it a perfect location for the hotel as it is close to all my points of interest. The staff was great and i loved that there were always shuttles to waterfront.Mu sister and i enjoyed our stay and we would definately go back to Capetonian again.
Suitably sized, very comfortable”
This was my 18th anniversary celebration, the hotel had arranged a complimentary fruit basket for us as a gifft and I thought that was a pleasant touch. Much valued. I will definitely used the hotel again. It was helpful to us that there was a prayer room. Staff were very friendly and helpful, replenished coffee in the room when we needed it.
Friendly staff always....”
My husband and I just loved the superior deluxe room. Even though we were just there for 1 overnight..we had a relaxing stay and the bathroom was also nice and spacious. The breakfast was scrumptious and well set out
Lovely hotel service with a smile and big rooms”
We stayed at The Capetonian for only one night. This was to take a break from our hectic work. The room was nice and spacious. The surroundings were nice. We slep the night without any noise. It was good to see the amount of tourists visiting Cape Town. One can feel really proud being a Cape Tonian We intend celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary at your hotel. The colourful parrot in your foyer makes one realise that there is a bright future ahead of us.
Fantastic Hotel, food better but service the best.”
The staff from reception, porters, the guys operating the lift, housekeeping and the restuarant staff are all so very helpfull and friendly. they absolutely make your stay.Hotel is close to everything on foreshore. We enjoyed our stay.I'd go back anytime again.
best halaal breakfast in ct”
i really enjoyed my stay at the capetonian but it was a pity that i had to come down to collect guest bit frustrating lol. i really loved the staff and the food but the bathroom was so vark old school.
Great food, Great staff and most of all amazing rm”
i really enjoyed my stay and if i could get rates as they were in feb i would gladly stay again. thank you to all the staff that made me feel at home even though ct is my home. it was such a pleasure to know the food was halaal yor!!!!
The rooms were very good ,clean and nice view was there of table mountain from the room. But the Breakfast is same every day ,should need to change the breakfast style do not repeat the same dishes every day .
Great return visit!”
After many years of absence, I returned to the Capetonian - and I am happy I did because it will now be firmly on my list of favourite hotels. I checked in at about 20h00 (8 pm), and ensured that the dining room was still open. Alas, the service was indifferent BUT the second restaurant, on the second floor, more than made up for it, as did the breakfast the next day. It was as good as it gets. The rooms are large and comfortable. The only gripe I have is that I could not watch television from the warmth of my bed.
lovely hotel and service with a smile”
the capetonian hotel is ideally located in the city centre near the cape town international convention centre (cticc).the v&a waterfront is only 5 minutes drive from the hotel and the shuttle makes it much easier.the hop on hop off bus stop is 2 minutes walk from the hotel.the rooms are spacious.the breakfast was delicious.
