A surprisingly comfortable sleep with an interesting experience.
Great location and amenities, friendly staff”
Very pleasant stay, worth the "capsule experience". On the downside: public areas are quite hot with a strong cigarette smell. Capsules were a tad hot (AC didn't seem to be active), but we slept well, enjoyed the onsen and sauna and found the staff friendly and helpful. Within walking distance of Dotonbori.
Great location & clean”
The bathroom and onsen is a bit small. The hot pool is only about 2m by 2m (hexagon shaped). There are about 5-6 bath slots. Got to wait during peak hours around after 8pm. Not for those who are shy to shower naked with others around. Toiletries, towels & jinbei provided.
tidy: cant wear shoes in the hostel good communication: staff can speak english good location: near all the subway and JR railway near the shopping center no wifi in room, and need to bath with others
A good location but facilties can be improved”
I was stayed there for one night. The environment is clean, same as other capsule hotel, take off your shoes before enter the hotel, there are lockers for you to store your shoes. Man floor is 2/F, you have to go to B2F to have a shower in a large japanese-style bathroom. The one who is going to bath can store their personal belongings in the lockers next to the bathroom. There is no charger in the room that means you cannot charge and play your phone at your capsule room. If you want to charge your phone, you have to bring your phont to 1/F, charging locker, and put your phone there and use a 100yen (will be refund) to lock your phone inside the locker to charge. (Remember to bring your usb charger) There are also around 20 lockers, for around 200 people live in there, there is a rule that the maximum charging hour is 6, so you have to check the lock availibitiy usually, wait for a chance to charge. The check-in time is 1400, if you want to leave your luggage in hotel in the morning, charge 200yen for each (same price as the coin locker outside), after you have check-in, you can store your luaggage, bag, etc. into 1/F locker, they will give you the key. if you are bringing a large luggage (mine is 24", just fit inside the locker), you cannot put it into the locker, and you may ask help to the frontdesk, but I dunno whether they will charge the money.
Centred capsule hotel in middle of city”
This is good capsule hotel for light backpacker which do not doing a lot of shopping activities, because the locker provided is just exact fit for 20" cabin luggage and not allow to keep any items in the capsule during day or night time.
Central of Akiba”
Location is the best. It is extremely clean. Although it is small! Would definitely come back to stay!
Great location near Shinsaibashi station and Namba ”
- Great location near Shinsaibashi station and Namba - It's a big capsule hotel but not filled. Good thing is it's quiet. Bad thing is it feels strange when there are many empty capsule.
For one night capsule experience ”
Pros: - Capsule experience - Provide everything you need to wash up, shower, and even for facial. Yukata provided as well - free public bath - female zone - walking distance to dotonbori, shinsaibashi - cheap breakfast menu - helpful staff Cons: - your luggage will either be in locker or at front office. So, will be troublesome when you need something out from your luggage - 200 yen to put your luggage to front desk if your luggage bag is medium size and above, or earlier check-in. Good news is, you can keep there for 24 hour. I think it's interesting experience when you travel to Japan.
Value for Money No frills Japanese experience”
Pros: 1. Smack in the middle of Americamura - lots of things to see and eat the moment you walk out of the "hotel". 2. 10 minutes walk from Shinsaibashi station (could be a con, see below) 3. Affordable place to sleep - but it's literally just a place to sleep, so bring your own entertainment. 4. There is a quite affordable "cafeteria" so it's easy to get breakfast/lunch/dinner/supper if you're so inclined. 5. All amenities & toiletries provided for - you literally just need to have your day clothes & some specialised skin care / make up. Pyjamas, towels, hair brush, hair dryer, single-use toothbrush, face wash, shampoo, conditional, body wash are provided for. Cons: 1. There is a TV housing in my capsule, BUT NO TV. 2. When I was there, the common rooms were smoky 3. Not for people who are iffy about Japanese style common showers (everyone gets naked in the bath and shower together). 4. Not suitable if you have very large luggage or more than 1- coz it's quite a walk from the station to lug your luggage around + if it doesn't fit the locker provided you have to pay an additional 200 yen / day / luggage to be stored at the counter.
Clean and neat capsule hotel”
Cool experience but I think once is enough. Place is clean and capsule bed is cosy. Cons: I can hear people coming in and out in the room. And is a bit troublesome taking things in and out of the locker. But these are the typical cons of staying in a hostel.
if no other choice, still ok”
I think the good one is the location is convenient, there are shops & restaurants nearby, & near dotonburi street & shin-shaibashi. The locker provided is small & cannot fit the luggage & extra charges for keeping the luggage. The dressing room is stuffy. No sandal provided, late check out got extra charges. I think it is an old type of capsule, have to beware of the TV box.
I've never stayed in a capsule hotel so I don't have a comparison, but the amenities were great and the staff were friendly. My only issue was how thin the mattress pads were, which was hard on my back since I'm a side sleeper, but that may be the case at most capsule hotels. The location was great too, walking distance from major train stations, Dotonbori, and lots of shopping, restaurants and bars.
i loved it but i wish i'd gotten a long capsule ”
it was great, a bit of an older capsule than i imagined, but still very cool, my only personal issue was that i got a side entry capsule which was too much like a bunk bed and so the novelty was lost. also, the internet could be better, but really it was still a great place.
Excellent but bring earplugs”
Everything was great. Clean, convenient and comfortable. Really something you must experience in Japan. The showers are not private, but I guess that's a given. One thing that did bother me quite a lot actually were the noise levels. On the first night, the customers staying there were so loud that I could not sleep, even with earplugs in. But I guess that's hard to control. The worst was the second night, when I was woken up at 9am by the cleaning staff cleaning the room around my place, speaking as loudly as they please and not giving a damn really. On the paper it said that they would only clean from 12 to 2. Finally, the front desk staff could be friendlier. We were told that thy would keep our valuables safe at the front desk. Which was important for us when we chose the place, but on the day, they said that my girlfriends small MacBook Air 11" was too big for them to keep there, and I the guy showed no emotion or effort whatsoever to try and accommodate us. Very clean though and I am still very glad for the experience, but the staff let me down.
It's a pleasant stay. The only things can improve is the washroom and bathroom quantity as I waited 20mins for the washroom and 30 mins to take bath. And also the locker is a bit difficult to fit in my only 24inch luggage. Wifi can be improve as its abit difficult to connect.
First time to experience staying in a capsule hotel. The capsule itself is clean and everything was organized. Keys on every floor and lockers. They even have manga library and a dinning area with nissin cup noodles vendo. The staff was accommodating and even helped us finding our way to the nearest mall. I just loved our stay here.
A capsule hotel in the heart of Namba”
We have no complaints about our stay since we get what we paid for. The price is cheap and very affordable but I will not recommend this capsule hotel for tourists and other long term guests. This capsule hotel has so many rules that you think you're in a military camp or something. And another thing, if you're the type who do not like to take a bath nude with other people in a sauna, then do not take a capsule hotel here in Japan since they do not have a private shower at all. The staff were basically okay except for the bespectacled old staff there who is very rude.
A convenient place to stay for short trips”
My stay was very comfortable. I only had two nights in Osaka and it was very easy to come and go in that time. My bed was very comfortable, the female only section and lockers made me feel safe and the restaurant was efficient and very reasonably priced. There is a bath and shower room and robes are supplied. the location is great, not far from the main shopping and tourist areas and there are Defintely a lot of trendy shops bars and cafes. I recommend this accommodation if you are not looking to spend much time inside and want to explore. I would stay here again
Good budget capsule stay”
This was my first time staying in a capsule hotel. It's a bit old but kept very clean. The sauna is a nice bonus and the communal bathing area is large and clean. Smoking is allowed in the common area, so that's something to consider if you're a non-smoker. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. I would stay here again just for the sauna.
