highly recommended, strategic location, new hotel”
Super like this boutique hotel, just operated about 6 months ago. Near to Sofitel Ponte 16 at Macau, so can take the shuttle bus of Sofitel, then walk about 5min to Caravel Hotel. It's also near to Senado Square, about 10-15min walk. The room is very nice, comfy bed, lightning is enough and very clean. They provide Loccitane toiletries which I love the most!! The breakfast can be improve... at least with an egg station OR provide selective menu for guest to choose. They have only bread, jam, coffee, fruits and cereal. Overall this hotel is excellent!! would definitely come back again!!
New , Clean , Modern Hotel ”
Good Location (few minutes walk to Senado) Nice Room, they Provide cookies and Dilmah Tea in each Room, And L'OCCITANE bath set. Also they provide 1 mobile phone with 4G data place which help us travel around hotel by walking using GPS. The staff is very Helpfull! I would re-stay again if i come to Macau Thanks Caravel
Nice and Cozy ”
Stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed Caravel hotel. I love the luxurious feel of the sheets n pillows. It’s like you’re in a 5 star hotel. L’ Occitane shampoo, conditioner., bath gel are a nice touch. I love that there are lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, also. There’s a blow dryer also hidden in the closet drawer where the safe is. The room is small but it’s plenty for a couple. Love the hot cocoa machine. n they have a coffee machine also.. It was a nice walk to sightseeing locations! Bring your comfy shoes.
One night getaway ”
We stayed one night at the Caravel hotel. We found the hotel staff to be accomodating some a bit better than others. The rooms were clean but since the building is an odd shape so are the rooms. A lot of little extras in the rooms like snacks and drinks that are complimentary. Free access to anytime fitness gym which is in the basement of the building. Free continental breakfast as well. Let us leave our bags upon checkout and they even called a taxi for us when we were ready to leave.
Staff was very helpful and accommodating. It's a simple and clean hotel with minimal amenities but enough to make you feel at home. I enjoyed a cup of complimentary milk tea in the lobby every evening and appreciated the complimentary local phone to use for local calls and GPS. The hotel is centrally located in Old Macau near Senado Square and a block away from October 5 St. which has plenty of shops to check out. They also have evening street fairs every now and then where you can find lots of fun food to try. Buses are also very convenient to the hotel and the Singaporean Malaysian restaurant where you can claim your free breakfast from was so great. I had Laksa almost every morning! You also get access to the gym around the corner but there's plenty of walking that can double up as exercise so I never got to check it out. I would recommend this place to anyone that doesn't mind a simpler hotel. This is a solid and very comfortable choice!
Strategic location to Macau heritage sites.”
The place is strategically located in the heart of the old town and just a few minutes walk to the famous attractions and good eateries. The room is spacious and with quality amenities. The only down side about this hotel is that there is no in house cafe, the cafe next door where they serve your complementary breakfast is quite a disappointing one. So it's best not to opt for breakfast being included with your room stay, you can get really nice meals for reasonable price just a few streets away. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Overall it's a place worth your pennies if you're into seeing the heritage side of Macau!
nice and new hotel”
We booked the room at the same day , because we got kicked out by the racist Airbnb host claiming that they afraid of foreigners. Luckily this one of the very last rooms in macau hat night. And this hotel even gave us a suite with a nice balcony(though have wall all around the room blocking some of the views), comfort living space and bedroom, and a nice and clean washroom. The hotel and room is stylish and very close to the old town area in Macau side. They also provide a cellphone so that we can use the internet data to look around the city and easily get back. Will definately recommend this hotel to someone who loves to stay in hip and stylish place and wanna stay away from the crowed gigantic hotel.
First of all, the location is really nice. Close to almost everywhere! The Senado Square and the ruins are just meters away, you'll just have to walk. If you would like to go to Taipa, you'll just ride the bus, the bus stop is just around the corner. If you are coming from the airport or Macau ferry terminal, you'll just have to ride the Sofitel bus and walk for 170 meters to arrive at the hotel. The rooms are very nice with a bathtub and the facilities are superb. Staff needs to be a bit more friendly, seemed to be sometimes annoyed. But overall, it was a great experience! I will come back here for sure.
Hotel location is convinient although it’s a bit hidden. There were still renovations going on when we stayed there so it was a bit noisy during the day. The staff were friendly and helpful though and the room was clean and bigger than expected for this kind of hotel. The room was by no means big but when you’re use to small HK / Macau apartments it was a pleasant surprise. The hotel also offered free breakfast which was a nice touch. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and will probably stay here again on a future trip to Macao.
A Very Pleasant Hotel Away from the Hideousness of Cotai Strip”
If you'd like to stay in the historic centre of Macau, well away from the hideousness of the Cotai Strip with its brash casinos and tasteless Las Vegas-style imitations of Venice, I can highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are decorated very tastefully, some have balconies, which can be opened - no need for air-conditioning in winter. Needless to say, they are spotlessly clean. The staff speak very good English and are very attentive.
Good stay in new and clean hotel ”
The location of the hotel is slightly away from the main road, you have to walk further in from the bus stop. However it is only about 15mins walk to famous attraction like ruins of St. Paul. Bus stop outside have most of the bus to famous attraction like Venetian Macau/ ferry terminal. Room was spacious and clean! Love the design and complimentary snacks given :) staffs in hotel is Super friendly and helpful, providing direction for us to get around in Macau via bus. There’s 24/7 gym available as well. Overall love the stay!!
The hotel service was good and we were warm welcomed. There's a lot of food around the area and the hotel is very near to tourist spots. Besides, there's free shuttle provided by Ponte 16 which it located opposite of Caravel Hotel. The only corn were Teksi drivers are not known of the hotel.
Caravel hotel was very nice botique hotel with l'occitane toiletries 👏👏👏 kudos to the friendly front desk officers namely Miss Apple Sir Andy and to Sir Harvey which he help me upgrade my single room to double room 👏🙏😋 the hotel was very clean and worth the value of money. The location was also good very near in senado square. There were too many restaurants nearby the hotel you don't have to worry about the food. Also the nanyang kopi laksa noodles was one of the best laksa noodles I had 👏😋
Very convenient. Bus stop is just 5mins walk. There is also a direct bus to the airport. I was upgraded to a very luxurious mini suite room with nice interior. I love the comfortable bed and huge bathroom. All the staff were very helpful. About 10mins walk to ruins of st. Paul. You can easily access to venetian; parisian; galaxy casino in taipai / cotai by bus outside the hotel. I stayed for 2 nights and plan to stay at this same hotel again when i visit macau the next time. GLLOW MAY 2019 Singapore
Good hotel at a reasonable price”
Travelled to Macau from Hongkong last August 26-27, 2018 and stayed at Caravel. Easy to locate. We rode the free shuttle bus of Sofitel. One of the staff in the kitchen is a Filipino and he assists us very well. The lobbyists are also very kind. It was a short but relaxing stay. I just hope their breakfast will improve.
Nice boutique hotel”
Room was very clean, comfy bed, quiet at night. Staff ware friendly with smile not only the receptionists but also house keepers. Quick and smooth check in/check out. Walking distance to the main tourist attractions in old town. There were lots of local restaurants and some supermarkets around the hotel. Hope come back here when I would visit Macau again.
Location walking distance to Sofitel and Senado Square, English speaking staffs”
You may opt to ride the free shuttle bus of Sofitel, then walk just across the pedestrian lane and ask for Caravel Hotel. The building is new and well-kept. Be sure to double check the box where they put the free tea, coffee and biscuits. Last time we checked-in, they told us there are missing spoons so we should be charged of 30MOP. But we kindly explain to the receptionist that we haven't seen any spoon in box. In the end, we didn't pay the 30MOP.
Great value , even greater gym”
Location is great , walking distance to all the major Macau attractions. Staff was helpful and friendly, going out of their way to provide fresh towels and call us a taxi when it was raining heavily when we had already checked out earlier in the day! Any fitness-minded visitors will love the Anytime Fitness attached to the hotel, with treadmills, a squat rack and all other strength equipment you’d ever need.
Clean, cozy and easy to access”
Chose Caravel just because it is newly built and the location is easy to access, the 十月初五街 just near by. You can get there by free shuttle bus from the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal , then get off at Sofitel Ponte 16 Macau Hotel and walk 3 mins to Caravel.
Fairly new and clean hotel with very friendly and helpful multi-lingual staffs. (Special thanks to Mr Lawrence from the front desk for his dedication and assistance in resolving some issues with my booking). Surrounded by old buildings but strategically located near St Paul’s Ruin, Senado Square, local eateries and bus stop for transfer to other side of Macau. Recommended.
