Superb location”
The room was large and comfortable. Hotel location was very ideal; about 10 minute walk from Hsinchu Train Station and less from the Chenghuang Temple of Hsinchu (City God Temple). I would definitely stay here again next time I visit Hsinchu.

Clean room, great location that closes to all type of businesses. free charged self laundry facility is a plus. As a sole traveler, I do recommend hotel would able to separate different floors to group travelers and sole travelers. It's hotel room has very poor sound approved, I am not just hearing the sound of talking also knowing what were neighbors talking about.

Worth the money”
First 4-star hotel of Hsinchu. The location is super convenient. The service is good. Overall is quite nice for the price. The downside is that the hotel was renovated in 2008, so all the facilities and rooms look quite old and a bit dusty. Even though we booked a non-smoking room, but we still can smell the cigarette from the A/C.

The bathtub is 4 steps away from the shower, which would make the floor all wet if you prefer showering before bathing.

When I needed to be help, the staffs did not care about and ask me to read the instructions by myself. when I check in, she only care about the check in procedure require me answer my name as soon as possible. The attitude is not proper at all. I would tell you my name and give you my ID card. However, could you give me one more minute? I have to take my ID card from my purse. I am not a criminal and you don't need to push me so hard with your impolite tone.

Spacious room, helpful staff”
The hotel is within walking distance to the Chenghuang Temple night market. Taxi fare to the Hsinchu High Speed Rail Station is about NT355 and about NT105 to Hsinchu Train Station. The room was spacious and clean but the bathtub seemed a bit dusty so didn't use it. There is a coffee machine at the lobby. There are washing machines and dryers on the top floor but also seemed a bit dusty. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a 7-eleven (along Beimen Street) near the hotel.

A pleasant surprise”
My family did not expect anything extraordinary when we checked into Carlton Beida on Dec 20 for 2 nights. Besides a professional staff crew and clean, comfortable room, there were these extra little things that made a difference - nice breakfast buffet spread, you could pack them away if you like, include hot coffee and tea, heated toilet seat, shoe polishing at the lift lobby, an exercise bike in the room, and on the 12th floor, you can exercise, play table tennis or pool while you do your laundry! It was perfect for my family. We would stay at Carlton Beida again :)

Hotel is pleasant to stay with huge space and provided wonderful breakfast with daily free snacks & fruit. Staffs can be little more helpful when foreigners are approaching for some help. Also Universal Charging plug/power adapter can be installed near to bed so it'll be easier to charge the mobile phone. Overall I had good stay at Carlton.

Good Basic Hot gel for Hsinchu”
I arrived at 7AM in the morning but check in time was 3PM. I had to buy the room for the night before I arrived. This is similar to other hotels I stayed at in Hsinchu so just be aware of this if you plan to arrive early. The rooms was big and nicely maintained. No real issues. The maid and laundry service very good. There is only one Food and beverage outlet in the Hotel which serves breakfast and dinner. So if you need lunch you are on your own. But there are many restaurants/fast food places within 5 minutes walk. So no big deal. Overall good hotel and I will stay there again.

We spent a total of six days at the hotel in two spells of two and four days. The staff and very friendly and accommodating. The location is good for a number of the main attractions ( The Big City, the Main park and river). Great value for money.
