Very comfortable, spacious rooms”

We spent 3 nights in SF and having never been before and not knowing the city, booked Carriage Inn because it looked reasonably priced with very nice rooms. Our room was large and spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. Other facilities such as restuarant, gym and pool are offered, but at the hotel across the busy road. The hotel is situated in not the greatest part of town though., with a lot of homeless people around (who are harmless, we found out). There are restaurants close by which we walked to and Ubered back from. We also Ubered to most of our sightseeing experiences because they’re a bit too far away to walk to.

Outstanding Customer Service ”

Booked thru Agoda, when I needed to make changes to my reservation, Agoda never answered their phone and I couldn’t make changes online. The carriage Inn staff went above and beyond to make sure my request was honored.

lovely hotel”

really liked the hotel and the old vintage look in the rooms. great helpful staff, very friendly. clean rooms . i hated the area outside. too many homeless people all over including around union area, they blady crap on the streets with no care that people are walking there. you have to watch your steps all the time as you will step on human poo. truelly gross. i hope the leaders in the govenment does something about this. we even saw people taking drugs in broad daylight. no one did anything to us but we felt so unsafe walking the streets. if we ever go to San Fransico again, we will stay in the wharf area, seemed so much better.

A big room on top floor, with a very comfortable bed. Dated decor, but this doesn't detract from stay Well located, just a couple of blocks from Union Square and main transport routes. Friendly and helpful staff Thus hotel fulfilled our needs. Negatives are all outside the hotel. On a busy road, so lots of traffic noise. Therevare a lot of homeless people outside hotel. Also drug dealing and usage right outside lobby on side street. Whilst using lobby computer one of the homeless was urinating against hotel wall. Drug addicts using heroin and crystal meth within 10 yards of hotel entrance..

Walking distance to Union Square, SF Giants, cable cars etc.). Nice location, friendly and helpful staff. The price for parking is crazy high, but that's San Francisco. Drug users are in the general area, however the Hotel does a good job with security, and this is an urban social problem that needs to be addressed by society.

Quaint hotel with excellent service”

what i liked best about this hotel was the very quaint decor which made us want to stay in our rooms longer. restaurants are easily accessible. there is am affordable vietnamese place just 2 buildings away. there is also a burger joint but we didn;t have enough time to try that one out. an pleasant surprise was the free breakfast provided by a nearby cafe. there is easy access to shopping and sigtseeing if one just walks up 2 blocks to market street. just be prepared for shady looking characters that roam around the streets nearby. after all, soma was a downhill aread in the past.

Quirky cute hotel”

Lovely room in a reasonably good location to get to the restaurants in the Mission area - not really walking distance at night time as the neighbourhood becomes a little scary after dark but a short taxi away. Most of the amenities of this hotel were in the sister hotel across the street - there was a bar here serving cocktails until late which was great. It was a shame that the hotel jacuzzi and outdoor area was being renovated as it was just outside our room and looked like it would have been nice to use.

Went to a SF Giants game so we looked for something close by for 1 night. Location was super convenient and the staff was so nice! Never stayed at a boutique hotel before and I don't know why. We absolutely loved the theme/ decor, bay window, fireplace, HUGE bathroom and of course, the nice staff. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

They break the bank ”

Beautiful hotel! Loved my room. But the deposit online said $75, ended up being $100 and had to call and ask why I haven’t got it back. Parking was $35 a night and I stayed for 2 had to drop $115 total for 2 nights of parking. If they would of established this price I would not of stayed at the room. On top of the hundreds homeless in the area, do not walk alone at night and do not take your children on the streets at night(I saw things children would cry about)

A bed near the conference venue”

A pleasant room, with good facilities and plenty of room. The staff were pleasant and the daily breakfast in a box was a really nice touch. The only downside was the local area that the hotel is in is very run down and does not feel safe at nights.

Great hotel, bad neighborhood.”

The first night at a local pub and a resident tells us not to take out our mobile phones on the street and walk like we know where we are going... The walking distance to the city centre/pier areas/cable cars is great, but I wouldn't stay here again simply based on the location.

Funky small hotel, awful location”

The location of this hotel is unfortunate and not one I would recommend for anyone who plans to walk anywhere. It is a very dodgy part of town and I did not feel at all safe. I booked for 3 nights, stayed only for 1 and cancelled. Given the price is virtually the same for other hotels in better places ...

Location was walkable to union square. Room was spacious and comfortable bed. Clean and spotless. Breakfast was just togo, we don't like it.

Stayed 1 night for my daughters 16th birthday (took her to see RENT). Good location, cool room, but no food and waaaaay too expensive parking.

La habitación es bonita y es cómoda pero tener cuidado porque abusan de las tasas. La zona no es nada recomendable, hay muchísimos vagabundos alrededor a todas horas y parece inseguro . Si volviera a San Francisco me alojaría en otra zona .
